Unfortunately I was dumb enough to believe them and got pulled in to the scam where I shipped my Mac book for 350 and she said she would do it for 550 I thought that was great so I agreed to ship it out and they were doing the transaction on paypal and expected me to send them 200 dollars back to them that I never got I didn't even get any money from them and they said the FBI will get involved and I'm over in alaska and I shipped it to Nigeria to find out she is running me around trying to get all my s*** haha I'm upset about the Mac book but I will find this bi*** and she will get what he has coming to her

Thank you for posting this!!! I just almost fell for this same 'buyer' scam. The person was texting me from a 720.388.7720 phone number. I had to pry the shipping address out of them, and when I finally received the address, I googled how to ship to Nigeria and found this post. They requested that I ship to the destination below:

Almost got scammed by this as well.  I am selling son's phone and I received a message that they wanted to buy it and they would cover $100 shipping via USPS Express International Mail. I didn't think it was a scam because I did a lot of research and none of the information that was supposed to be warnings didn't match.  So my boyfriend and I went to post office and the lady told me not to do it because she hasn't heard one delivery to Nigeria that ended well for the seller.  I called PayPal again and they sent me the information to tell if it was a scam and none of the items listed matched.  So I called PayPal back and walked her through the emails I had received and she stated it was a scam.  Here is all the info I can provide and hope it helps someone:

2 emails received from fake Service@PayPal confirming funds were pulled but pending until I provided the shipping and tracking information to email address:  tracking_information@in.com

Address I was to mail to Kate's "collegue" is:

They did not ask for any personal information, they did not ask me for answers to security questions nor did they ask for banking or debit information.  The email also addressed by my full first and last name which matches how my PayPal account is set-up.  One of the tell-tale warnings is supposed to be if the email addresses you as "Dear User" or "Hello PayPal Member".

The only way we were able to confirm that it was a scam is because once the money is sent via PayPal from a true account, it will show up in your account immediately.  Payment will never show as pending and PayPal never asks you to send tracking & shipping information.

Phew.. That was a close one!

My name is Nicole Rains. I attended Jonathon Bud's Unstoppable event in San Diego May of 2010. While at the event there was a group of people from Nigeria who claimed to be in Tahitian Noni. Many of us who were there, close to 500 attendees, were handing out our business cards and networking with everyone there. Recently I decided to google my name to see what came up. Because I own a home based business I was expecting to see only business related things under my name. CLEARLY someone from that event has taken my name and run scams under my identity!! This is absolutely horrifying to me because I have no idea how to even begin to fix this. CLEARLY I speak English as my first language because any comments this person is posting are in broken English. I do not promote anything on Craigslist and Craigslist is known to have Nigerians scamming from anything to real estate to services. It breaks my heart because the people at Unstoppable were so nice. This is the only connection I can make to all of these happenings. Understand I have been absolutely repulsed that these things are happening under my name. Hopefully anyone that reads this will understand someone is running scams under my name and that it is not me. I was born in the U.S.A. and whoever is acting under my name, obviously,English was not their first language.

I felt this was a scam, so I told him, I deal in cash only. Then I found this blog. Whew...

Wow, she is still at it. I just got a reply for a laptop I just posted on Craigslist. I was curious so I Googled her name and this is what I found. Thank you for posting all the comments and saving me and others from getting caught up with this scam. I did email her back and told her I read the negative comments and to not contact me again.

Thankfully I am familiar with this craigslist scam.  This was a text not a call.  They all have the same overpayment language to pay for shipping to some remote location and pay with PayPal.  Just call them out immediately saying, "I know this is a scam and I will be reporting this".  Typically don't hear from them again once they know you are on to them.

this just happen to us today me and husband put our laptop up for sell and this person answered us and give us there Paypal info. we almost give this person our info and change our mind at the last minute and look it up the email on Google and we found these story that match what this person told us so we didn't do it i'm so great full of the info on this thanks for given people the head up on what has been going on

I've gotten a response from this person from Craigslist posting in San Diego for a camera we're trying to sell...looks like they are into electronics.  I didn't respond because she/he was asking for information that was already in the post and I guessed it was a scam of some sort...the poor grammar/English was also a giveaway!  After reading the posts above I went in and flagged the message as a scam on Craigslist.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for reporting this kind of stuff so we can avoid getting scammed! I found it by googling "Nicole Rains Interior and Exterior Decorator" because it sounded so bizarre!

Hello everyone. I have received these exact same emails from Nicole trying to get me to mail the laptop I'm selling to her. She also said it was for her son's birthday. She also offered me the $100 Express Mail shipping. At the bottom of her emails she writes: "Nicole Rains Interior and Exterior Decorator Co.
General Manager.

You are blessed in Jesus name."

She gave me the phone number 334-245-3798 and said I could text her. The area code for his number matches Montgomery, Alabama. I asked her for the shipping address and she gave me the address "Name:Joshua Williams
Address: 8, Broad street
State: Marina Lagos
City: Lagos Island
23401 Nigeria."

This is a scam. Please beware of this person. Do not send her money or personal information.

I just got a response from Nicole Rains on a camera I was selling on Craig's List.

Yes, the same "you are blessed in Jesus' name."

She asked for my PayPal ID to ship the camera to her son for his birthday and the ship to address was in Nigeria. She was going to transfer $200 for the camera and $100  for shipping. She said the money was transferred.

I got a fake email from PayPal from an email I didn't recognize, it comes up as Service@PayPal.com, but it's really from payment10@in.com The email said the transfer was pending me providing my shipping/tracking information.

This would have been the Part 1 of the scam, but I realized this was all fake. I looked at my PayPal account and no money was transferred or even pending. I called them and confirmed.

I wanted to know if my accounts were being phished for information about my identity. My Yahoo account was logged into from another state yesterday morning. I immediately changed my Yahoo password.

Today I got another fake email from Paypal (same bad email address) and a second one that said it was from PayPal and the FBI (still from same bad email address), but this one had a hokey Federal Bureau of Investigation header as well as a PayPal logo and contained all sorts of grammatical errors.

Then I got another email from Nicole herself. I told her I was ending the sale and I knew she was phishing. She asked me to complete the transaction by providing the shipping/tracking number and asked, "What are you going to do? I sent you my money."

She called from an "unknown" number. I must have included my cell in an email when I thought this was a local buyer. She was pretending she was from PayPal and asking me to provide the shipping/tracking number. I told her to cancel the transaction. I knew it was her. She had an African accent and there was a lot of line noise like it was a Skype phone or something. I hung up.

I hope this is the end of this.

George- The scam is really simple. Once they get your Paypal id, they send you a fake receipt. Simple as that. They hope that you will send the stuff before you realize you didn't get paid. There is also a part 2 to this scam. Similar to the phoney check one. They overpay you & ask you to Western Union the money back. As you can see, lots of red flags. They're always in a hurry. A sure sign of a scam.
