I own a assisted living home in Alabama and have been buying from united helping hand for over 15 years. I buy bulbs, cleaners and trash liners. The bulbs are made for use in industry and are NoT what I was buying locally . They last abt 10 times longer... Also the cleaners are highly concentrated .. trash liners are good to... sure they call me often but I don't mind the pleasant conversation and reorder when needed. In all actuality it saves me quite a bit of money. Glad I can help out se handicapped and disabled workers. You might try it sometimes.

Same here, rang twice, time I picked it up they'd disconnected.
I'm also on the no call list, must not be on the no hang-up list.
Just as well, I'd have been rude to whoever it was.

How dare they sell their wares using my home town and implying somehow I am associate with them!  Charlatans!

After number appearing on Caller ID, I called it in return, just to see what this was all about.  I got a man, very nice trying to tell me about their products (light bulbs, etc,)  I told him I had been receiving calls from that number and he apologized for calling the house.  He said it wouldn't happen again.
Let's see.

I got the call today and it says Menlo Park, Inc. 334-297-0963; Anna called. Very sweet person. Selling light bulbs, trash bags, hoses, etc. Do you know that 5 filaments support the bulb versus 2? Their hoses are made of foam and not rubber...actual material. Very interesting. Their trash bags are strong also. I kept her on the phone for about 7-8 minutes telling her this was the first light bulb salesperson I had had in 59 years. BUT...sorry...I didn't need anything. Took her number and said I would pass it along. She had asked for the owner and I told her she should buy a lotto ticket as this was her lucky day...that I AM the owner.

Didn't answer. Didn't recognize caller ID number and name. I am on national do not call list!!

I get calls from this place all the time.  They seem to know about me but it is for different things.  Onced it was they was wanting to give me a credit card machine.  Another time they were selling alarm systems this is very fishy.

Said they were a company that manufactures light bulbs.

United Helping Hands offered to ship a case of cleaning products for $99.00. I am a distributor of cleaning chemicals. What they explained to me is only worth $20.00 if that much. If their cleaning product are (RTU) ready to use, they are worth less. It is my understanding that only 10% or less of our money goes to the charity they are claiming to help. NOT A VERY GOOD INVESTMENT IS IT!

Please note I have told them numerous times to stop calling but they continue - I am on no call list.

When I recieved a call sometime in 2009 or 2010, I told the representative that we would not be able to purchase anything at this time. The man got upset and hung up the phone as I was trying to explain that we have fallen on hard some hard times ourselves. He didn't care to listen.  I recieved another call months later and I told the respresentative to remove us from their call list as I was not too happy with them. The man said he didn't have any one there that would treat customers like that. I assured him that he does.  My husband recieved a call last week which was February 2011. He told the representative what had happen in the past and that we would not be able to buy any products at this time. The man said he doesn't care about all that and hung up on him as he was talking.  I have donated and purchase from these people for years. I feel bad for those who are handicap however, they act like they are handicaped on the brain. My family and I are about giving and helping those in need but I refuse to be treated that way by anyone. So I will not donate nor buy any more of their products and I will also tell my family and friends and any one that will listen what happened.

I have done business with these people, for years. I started after my niece, who is disabled from an auto accident, got a job there. I went to pick her up from work, one evening, and was shocked to see
everyone working on her shift had some sort of disability. One guy was deaf and they had him set up with TDD, another had no legs, one was missing an arm. My neice introduced me to a couple of her coworkers, One woman was bald, skinny and leaned on a walker. She looked like she was 80 years old. Turned out, she had cancer and was 24.
The biggest shock was the light bulbs actually do save money on electric bills. I save about 20 percent
on my electric bill.  I've got them in my office, in my house, and in my garage. The trash bags are better than the Forceflex ones that walmart sells.  I've never had one rip  or leak on me and I don't have to double bag.  You can also stuff a lot more crap in the bags, too. I actually saved some money by buying them.
The cleaners saved me some money, too.  They work just as well as any of the industrial stuff Home Depot or Lowes sells.

United Helping hands, selling energy saving bulbs at 8.75 each for case of 25 or 12 for over 10 bucks each apparently saving 1200 bucks a year in energy bills, almost fell for it but cant justify spending that much on bulbs when theyre 9 bucks for 8 on amazon, of course they put down store bought lights blah blah blah. I had to laugh at " I noticed all the telemarketers were toothless trailer park looking women" as she sounded just like that kind of person, LOL. i reckon its a con, i'm sure they'll call again but now i know who they are.

Roberto, the handicapped do not make the light bulbs that is a bold face lie, in fact my wife applied there and was hired by Ed Cook. She told me about the job and I am handicapped so I applied and while I was there I asked to use the rest room. I could not get my wheelchair in the rest room. Ed Cook stated he would "call me back." I noticed all the telemarketers were toothless trailer park looking women.

They a scum sucker that rip you off. There are no handicap working there. The bathroom is not wheelchair compliant. Call your atttorney general. Enough thieves work there. Walk in and see for yourself.

This number just called me and they were already talking to someone else it sounded like when i picked up the phone and i said hello and they stuttered for a moment and asked if miss bobbleyan or something like that was there and thats no where close to my last name so i said no and she said oh sorry and hung up.  it was weird.

May 19 2009 - rcvd call and they didn't leave a message.  I returned the call and said I had recieved a call from them.  Lady immediatly said they dialed the wrong number.  But she didn't first get who I was and or my number. I asked her how she new they dialed the wrong number.  She said -
they just do sometimes.  Strange person....almost like a robot.  Anyway, she told me to have a blessed day and she hung up.  They got my cell phone number. Called again and a guy answers with a plain "hello".  He said the same thing - he dialed the wrong number.

Calls at all times of the day. Sometimes only 5 min. between calls. Never leaves a message only hangs up when voicemail picks up.

Yes, they call at the same time everyday. At 9:30am. I have not picked up the call. I came straight to google to see who it was.

Did not answer; looked up number, got this site.

Keeps calling. I have quit answering their calls. I don't need their lightbulbs.

Company pulled my information from the Texas department of Family and Protective Services. Offered light bulbs.
