Had house on craigslist, says is missionary and need to mail deposit and rent. (Only by western union), He says he was in arkansas, but phone showed up as alabama, Told him my bank is bank of america and tons of bank of america everywhere.  He can cash checks.. and I would have receipt and everything.  He said no... just do western union, then he will send keys.

Hey ... I've gotten my share of garbage calls from Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Ohio.

Btw... 1)  "....wonder this it coming..."     "...wonder this is coming..."   2)_ "alabama"   "Alabama"  3) How about a question mark at the end of that sentence?   4)  "Is a scam to sell"    "It is a scam to ..."  5) "...to bad..."  "...too bad..."    There's even more wrong with those four sentences.  Wonder what state educated you?

Alabama isn't any worse or any better than any other state.  I think racism and prejudice shouldn't have a place here.

We've continued to receive these calls since I reported above but we never answer "Unknown Caller"s so I'm happy others have provided above comments.  We have had those "Senior Citizen" recorded calls before from other numbers and answered one or two before I caught on.  All of us are smarter than any one of us and I appreciate the comments here.  New rule at our house:  Never answer a call we don't recognize and turn off the ringer at night.

Yup, they keep calling from Alabama 334-337-4237 - don't answer, let me repeat that -  don't answer. Scam intended for the elderly...how bout' this for them; GO Away - Not Just Now - Forever!

Congress allows direct marketing so we get these junk calls.  But, I had fun with this one today!  They called during the news hour.  I answered and pressed "1" to "find our more!"  A lady came on the phone!  She told me her name was "Patricia....." I believe. Can't remember her last name!  She said she was from Orlando, Florida.  Wow! I had fun! Asked her if she could see the rockets lift off.  She said she could and the look like bullets.  Wanted to send me something to save my life for just 39.95 or so each month.  I had fun!  Kept her on phone for maybe 20-25 mins...finally asked her to hold on while I listened to news...when I came back she was gone!!!!!  Then, I noticed she was calling from an Alabama number (334) 337-4237 in Vredenburg, Alabama, wherever that is!!!!  She said if I had no credit card, no debit card and no checking account, she couldn't send me the gadget anyway!!!  All about money, not about saving my life as she said!!

Caller ID said unknown caller.  I never answer calling numbers I don't recognize before.  I think my wife answered once and it was a recording for senior alert system.  I'm an old person but I'm not senile.  Sorry, Charlie!

I receive frequent calls from this number, usually around 11:00 am.  When I answer, the recording starts -- "Are you a senior citizen..."  Then I hang up.  I would like some action to stop these calls.

The dumb scam is targeted at the elderly. The morons think that old people are dumb enough to fall for their pathetic crap.

Is there any way to block these calls.  They are driving me crazy.  I try to answer so that I can tell them to stop & as soon as I answer I am disconnected.  Surely,  the FTC can stop harrassing calls!!

The pitch is hot and heavy and expect a literal deluge of more of these calls from a host of modulating numbers. Now that health care reform is in evitable there is much money to be made from senior citizens in United States of America. This means that seniors are entitled to care paid for by the government. This being the case telemarketers are cross references senior's names with names available with the same last names. Then they set up Robo callers using google voice numbers till they finally get you to pick up. Since they are not selling anything, the do not call list is irrelevant. As more entitlements are doled out you will see a barrage of calls hitting your phone non-stop. It will get to a level that you will eventually receive 2 or 3 Robo calls per hour- then the program will modulate the number till it gets closer to one you will pick up. You will begin to see the program search your area code and suffix in an attempt to make you believe you are receiving a call from a neighbor. You will see much more traffic on your phone over the next two years as greater entitlements become available for a variety of Americans.
