This is a telemarketer, or otherwise unwanted caller.

It's not Google.  Google doesn't do this.  As mentioned by "Tired of Crooks", they use the Google name but in a dodgy way.

Here's the basic scam:  You pay them a lot of money to set up your business on Google, which you can do for FREE at https://www.google.com/business/placesforbusiness/  (and if you're a business, you should do and it's FREE). They also say they will get your business ranked at the top of Google, which since they only target your area code, really isn't that hard.  They also set up a completely separate web page that links to your business that they do some SEO stuff,  so it really doesn't help your actual web site.  If you stop paying money monthly, then you lose any marginal traffic that you get from them.

Pretty much all of the telemarketers in this space do about the same thing, and you'd be better off just talking to a local Search-Engine-Optimizing/Search-Engine-Marketing meet-up group about some basic hints and tricks for free, and if you need professional help, get it from there.  You can probably find one on meetup.com.

Do not believe their hype.  Do talk to them at length and try to get as much information out of them and report it hear so that we can get contact information for reporting.  Also, talk to them at length since while you are talking to them, they are NOT selling to anyone else!  This will cut into the profit margin, which is the only way we will kill telemarketing.  Be polite, act interested, and waste their time as long as you can.  I typically have gotten guys like this for about 20 minutes or so.  So if only 24 people each day to this, it will cost them 1 representative.  Given the number of calls they place, we have numbers on our side.  A few hundred people could easily cause a major disruption in their telemarketing business.  So join the movement -  talk to them as long as you can keep them on the line!

When you answer the rude guy tells you he is calling from google, yahoo, etc. They claim they are calling about getting your business published on these web sites & are trying to sell you something. When you refuse to buy they then yell at you & at times speak some very rude & nasty words to you! I recommend blocking the number & filing a complaint with the FCC! If you try to call back its just dead air! This is a SCAM!! SCAM!! SCAM!! SCAM!!

I just got a robo call stating it was Google and it was imperative that I speak to an operator regarding my google listing.  I immediately asked if they were calling from google.  "No."  I asked where they were calling from and was told "A local SEO company helping businesses because Google was changing everything and I was going to lose my place."  After asking me several questions about my previous business that is closed, I said "you still haven't told me the name of your company" and they hung up.  Call back produces a message with options to remove yourself from their system.

We got a call from this number at my place of business. They were trying to sell personal Dental Insurance. I let them know they were calling a business and they hung-up. I expect to see this number on my caller ID again trying to sell another unwanted product

This individual has called multiple times. Each time he has been extremely rude. The first time he called, when I said the business no longer existed and that I didn't need the listing to be renewed, he said: "Well, that's unfortunate" and then hung up. Today at around 12:30 he called, I said again that the business no longer existed and he said "Ah, it didn't work out, huh" and I said "That's not necessarily true" and he immediately hung up. I was actually in the middle of asking what exactly I needed to to do to make sure it was removed from the listing so that I didn't get another call. But, of course, I couldn't because he hung up. I think his name was Rob or Rod, something like that. I called the number to see if I could get his name and speak to a supervisor, but my only option was to press 1 to be removed from the calling list, which I did. I wish I hadn't he would call again and I could get his name.

They called - I didn't answer - I blocked.  Apparently another google placement scam.

This is a US call, not international.  Google could and should prosecute. Why don't they?

What good is the NSA? What good is the FCC? Apparently google doesn't have enough attorneys and money to put a stop to this. It makes their company look real good. They must like the negative feedback on their company. They are responsible, in my opinion, for harassing my business. They have these numbers that we all have been called from, and they refuse to do anything about it. In my opinion, they must be getting a kickback. No one would allow bad publicity for their company.

I received an automated call from 336-290-7961 that said that they were in charge of my listing on Google and Yahoo and then the most stupid person I've spoken to in about 5 years came on the line. I asked him if he worked for Google. He got irritated instantly and said "What kind of question is that?" I told him that it was a very simple question asked of him in English. He stammered and then tried to formulate some kind of response and mumbled a bit, so I asked him again. Again he wouldn't answer me so I told him to put me on their permanent do not call me for the rest of their LIFE list and told him to stop being a smart a**. Nobody called back immediately so I imagine that he recognized that he was both a smart a** and a moron.

Calling acting like they was with google and trying to sell my internet services

Just got a call from this number.  Trying to sell me on our company being able to be found easier on the Internet with key words for "as low as $99 a month".  Ridiculous...Total scam!  When I politely said we wouldn't be interested and started to ask to be removed from the calling list they hung up immediately!  Call was disconnected right when I said the word "remove".

same as all these other postings. I have had dozen's of calls from this company. It's time to put a stop to these people. who knows what we can all do to make their life miserable. Who do we complain to?

Phone rang 2 times and then hung up. When I dialed it back a recording said to press 1 to add this number to my do-not-call list. Nothing else.

again.  If it's Google we should consider a class action suit against them for harassment and endangerment. I don't feel safe using Google now that I get this rogue calls , 100's of them a month.  caller id lists that phone number, no text.

robot TELESPAM trying to sound like they actually have anything to do with Google or Yahoo - blocked

From other sources on the internet I discovered this number is a SPAM caller trying to sell web pages on the internet.  I did not have this information as they hung up as soon as they did not hear any response.  I will not answer any phone calls from persons I do not know.   To think phone usage in America has come down to this--- how sad.    And the so-called government "DO NOT CALL"  reminds me of a bad joke.

I was getting these "google" calls since last week Wednesday, every single day!  I had no luck getting them to stop calling and after the man hung up on me on Monday, I called back and got a recording to press 1 to be added to the do not call list.  I did so and so far since yesterday the calls has stopped.

Got call, said it was John from google, yahoo & bing. Went on about something to do with my business ad on line. The second automated voice mentioned something abou selling a web page... I hung up.
What jack*** has such little time that he can create a robocall line to annoy hard working people?

Scam/spam telemarketers. Just hand up and block the number.

A very aggressive telemarketer with some line about Google, Yahoo, etc. When I told the guy I was not buying he started to shout at me. I am adding that number to my call blocker app.

They are SPAM! They Robocall and say they are from google ranking, yahoo, and others stating they tried calling several times and it is IMPERATIVE you stay on the line and take the call in order to get top ranking on search engines. TOTAL BS! They are SPAM and hang up asap.

I received a call from this number. Said they were from Google regarding my google listing. When I questioned why they were calling me at least 3 times a week, the man on the phone became very rude and nasty. Not sure if they are from Google, but if so I would never do business with someone so rude and nasty. They never did answer my question, just said a few things I can't repeat and then hung up on me.

These guys are SPAM callers that are trying to sell websites. Hang up when they cal!
