The calls you guy's are getting are from a debt collection company called Diversified Consultants. They will use any means possible illegal or legal to get you sent them money on a debt. Whether you owe it or not. The number comes from an Asheboro N.C. telephone number but they are using many different number's with the 308 prefix. The phones call's I believe are not coming from Asheboro but from Florida. In effect being diverted from Florida to the Asheboro number's. You can file a complaint with U.S. Department of Communications at (http:www.fcc.gov/complaints). The form is very easy to fill out and it doesn't matter if you someone money or not they going about getting the money illegally. If the FCC ask you to help in prosecuting them please do.

They call my work continueously and sick of it, today i gave them my lawyer number.
As i told them they change their number more than i have under wear , i'm sick of this and now you have been turned into FTC and BBB.
Sick of all these people think they can scam people:
People in North Carolina they can't do anything too you and calling your job and phone time after time can be a law suit against them for Harassment there is a law against it read your laws, also do not do anything  by e-mail, if they can send the information to your home, don't listen to their scare tatics they do whatever and say whatever to get you send them money and personal information:
Google the numbers and  then if nothing comes up still contact the  BBB and the FTC and let them know what is going on This needs to be stopped:
And they need to get them a real job:

This is definitely some type of scam phishing for information.  They are probably getting telephone numbers off the internet.

The telephone number they called is a Google Number that goes direct to voice mail.  There is no address, just an email associated to that voice mail number.  I set the voice mail phone number to use on social media profiles (Mostly Linked In) and on any resume, or professional publication that is publicly available.  The idea is to make myself available for legitimate connections without publically divulging personal information.

I can screen messages and choose who I want to provide my information to without harassing telemarketing calls or other scams.

The people did not leave a voice message.  With google voice, I can go into my account - block the number and they will get a message next time the call that the number is "disconnected and out of order".

We received a call from caller id "911" also stating that they were seeking to arrest an employee and needed to speak with her.  The caller said she was Deputy Watson from the "Kansas State Police Dept."  When we said there is no such law enforcement agency in the state, she said that the employee needed to call Officer Justine Green of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation to avoid arrest.  When asked if there was an arrest warrant she said "not yet".  When we asked for a return phone number for the caller she said it is the same number she just gave and had no explanation of why a Kansas law enforcement deputy could be reached at a NC phone number.  This is such a scam.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters have instructed victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain amount, on a specific date, via a pre-paid Visa card. The statement further declares the victim will never dispute the debt.

If you receive these calls, do not follow the caller?s instructions. Rather, you should:

?Notify your banking institutions.
?Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
?Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
?File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.
Tips to avoid becoming a victim of this scam:

?Never give your Social Security number?or personal information of any kind?over the telephone or online unless you initiate the contact.
?Be suspicious of any e-mail with urgent requests for personal financial information. The e-mail may include upsetting or exciting but false statements to get you to react immediately.
?Avoid filling out forms in e-mail messages that request personal information.
?Ensure that your browser is up-to-date and security patches have been applied.
?Check your bank, credit, and debit card statements regularly to make sure that there are no unauthorized transactions. If anything looks suspicious, contact your bank and all card issuers.
?When you contact companies, use numbers provided on the back of cards or statements

I got a call from these people today and a few months ago they state I owe $500 and they can only take a payment with a Walmart prepaid card. When I asked them to provide proof of the debt they say I owe I was told they aren't authorized to provide that info. I was threatened with being arrested. They also called my work and gave my boss info she isn't entitled to. They also tried to contact me thru 911

Got call while at work called three times with 911 coming on the caller Id. They left message on my voice mail stating that I was to get in touch with my local sheriff's office or to get in touch with Officer Michele(?) and that she was Officer Watson of the Arkansas State Sheriff's Dept. . If I called the number I was to ask for Ext. 1010. I was told that I was to contact Officer Michele or that there would be a notarized warrant made out for me.

I got the same exact call.  She called in on my cell and it came in as a 911 number so of course you're going to pick it up just for the fact it's 911 and then I thought they don't call me I call them.  She sounded Indian or Arabic.  She said she was Sheriff Deputy and in my city we call them a deputy sheriff then I guess she forgot to memorize her script last night because she changed it up and now she's from the Federal and then I couldn't make out the rest.  Since I stated I was the neighbor when she asked who I was I should have said non of your business then she gave information to someone she believed to be the neighbor that a legitimate agency would never give to a stranger that's made her even more less creditable in my eyes.  It's a scam scam scam big time and I hear from them every several months and using 911 I would thing is very much against the law and I would imagine would get them all thrown in jail if anyone could ever catch these folks that think Americans must all be idiots.  Think again.

The caller left a message with my receptionist on my job stating she was a State Sheriff from North Carolina.  She identified herself as Deputy Jennifer Black. I asked her to send me something in writing in regard to her concern, and I was unable to understand her due to her strong accent, but she was not willing.  I stated to her that this call was over, and I hung up.

The ignorant lady called me claiming that she was from the Sheriff's department and they were going to issue a warrant for my arrest if I didn't make some type of payment arrangements for a loan I have never even heard of. First off the Sheriff does not contact you about such a claim to my knowledge and When I told her was going to go to my city's police department and file a fraud claim she no longer had anything to say. WHY ARE PEOPLE SO BORED WITH THEIR LIVES!!!! GET A REAL JOB AND STOP TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF US HARD WORKING INDIVIDUALS!!

I implied that my lawyer would be contacting them at one of the two SBI addresses (one in Elizabeth City, the other in Greenville) and they told me they were in Asheboro. The response was "you have the wrong number" hahahahahahahaha

They contacted me for the first time yesterday claiming that I took out a payday loan over a year and a half ago and now the company was claiming fraud against me. The rough english speaking lady began threatening me about on sight arrest if I didnt comply with payment. She kept assisting that I make payment arrangements within 2 hours or I would be sorry basically.  When I told her that I was going to have a fraud investigation take way she no longer had anything to say and hung up the phone promptly. I haven't heard from her since. DARN SCAMMERS!! They claimed to be from the Sheriff's Department but since when have they actual called you over a loan you're more likely to be called by a debt collection agency not the Police!

These people call if you've ever tried to apply for a payday loan. They call from different numbers. The best tactic is to call them repeatedly and hang up until they eventually block you. Not only does it annoy the s*** out of them, you get the benefit of harassing them like they harass you and they will block you. Have fun. Don't let them scare you. If you talk to them they will only harass you more.

Woman had an Indian accent w/an American name. I asked about court papers & she said it wasn't filed as of yet.

These clowns called me today, an man disguising his voice saying that he is an officer for another county 100miles away. Telling me that he is going to send the police to my job today and have me arrested for fraud. When I mention to him that I did have an attorney and when I spoke with my attorney and she did some research, I told him that the only way that I can be arrested is if I have been served and didn"t make my court appearance. Then I asked him for a number that my attorney can call him he gave me 336-308-3196 and told me that this was the Federal Claims Court for Tennessee. The area code is for North Carolina. So I told him that my attorney will be contacting him and his business because he is harassing me. He hung up. These people are clowns.

I too received a call 10/4/11 by a Ms. White from the Federal State Bureau with an African/Jamaican accent. She called my cell once, left a message, and my place of employment (asked for my supervisor and then called me again on my cell and I anwered. (My co-worker called with a heads up.) She said that I was a suspect of a serious allegation and that I need to get pen/paper to write down information, also she was trying to confirm the last 4 digits of my SS#.  I asked what the allegations were, she refused to tell me, I asked out of what state, she said North Carolina. She said I needed to have my attorney call within 12 hours or I would be arrested. I tried to keep her on the phone, after she realized I wasn't having it, she hung up.  Lucky for me I have friendwhose husband is an attorney, a friend whose brother in law is one of local county sheriff officer and another who is an U.S. Federal Marshall. I have reported thus number to Better Business Bureau as well as a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission along with filing a police report.
