If you have an AmEx account, I recommend calling their official customer service number (probably listed on the back of your card or on their official website) before calling this number.

II believe this number to be misleading and being used in a criminal manner. It claims to be American Express are immediately requests for your account #. Discard and report if your the next victim.

They've called me over 15 times the past 2 weeks. I answer, and they hang up. I call back, and I get an automated message saying they're American Express. Not only do I NOT have an American Express card, I don't live in NC.

Do not have an amex account.  Got calls from this number as well as numbers from Arizona, Utah, NY, and Florida all within 6 hours.  My cell number is not tied to any of my credit cards.  This is a scam!

i received a call from this number at 9.20 am on Nov 29 on my phone at work! i didn't answer. no message left.

This is legit. I'm overdue on my Amex. That's who it is. Regardless, pay online and ignore the call.

I received my first call today @ 2:48... but my husband has received 2 calls over the past few days. Neither of us have or had an AMEX. Not sure why they'd be calling us.

This is AMEX.  They call multiple times a day.  Always call the home phone followed by the cell phone, or reverse the order .  The other number they've used so far is 954-503-1801. Called beginning shortly after 8 am, and calls were 3 hours apart from the Florida area code, then switched an hour after the last call to the North Carolina area code.  Apparently they'll call 7 days a week since their hours on the message they just left have them open on weekends too.  Relentless.

This is American Express.  Not a Scam!  If you call it, it will answer as Am Ex, and they had all correct info, to prove it was them.

I received calls from this number and they want you to give them your 16 digit card number.  They do not say who they are.  If it is Amex - they are pretty stupid to think anyone is going to give them any credit card number!

Received a call from this number with no voicemail message.  My amex acct is overdue, so this may be a legitimate amex call, although I can't be sure.

Calls today on my cell with no message.

Just called American Express, they're not American Express. It appears to be a scam.

I'd watch out for this number. They don't identify themselves when they call.
