I got a message on my direct line at work that I need to call them back immediately regarding a legal matter.  Hahah, what a joke.  A similar scam called me at my old job last year with the same song and dance.  That if i don't send them money immediately, they will be waiting for me at my apartment with the police.  I told them to go ahead, and make sure to bring a camera so i can laugh in their faces when i don't get arrested.  The only way to get these people to stop is to make them aware that you're not scared and that you're informed. There is nothing they can do, and they are never going to get any money from me, so they stopped calling after my first conversation with them. You should also report them to your Attorney General or which ever municipality in your state deals with internet/phone scams.
Good luck everyone!

Kathy and bonnie i received a phone call from an Edward Marshall also; this man has been calling and harassing me claiming that I owe a debt to cash advance and if I don't pay him in three Installments of 210.00 starting tomorrow that he's going to flag my social security number, flag my drivers license  and bring me up on criminal charges. I'm so glad that I saw these complaints and what I should do about it by notifying the FTC, ALL THREE CREDIT BUREAU'S, AND THE AUTHORITIES about these people.  THANK YOU ALL, AND I PRAY THAT JESUS KEEP US ALL SAFE FROM THESE PEOPLE AND OTHER PEOPLELIKE THEM.

Brian Ross keeps calling me and telling me I owe their company money. When I asked for details all they would do is threaten me by canceling my DL and blocking my SS#. And that they were sending officers to my home to arrest me. I am worried because they have all my personal info and I don't know how to stop them! I need help with my next step.

I have today received 9 phones before noon at my work number and 2 at my home phone.  The first guy that calls is Steve Foster, then he turns the phone over to his "manager" Mark.  I did return the phone call and then after speaking to both of them, the calls started up again at 2:48 pm and 13 more calls was done within a 2 hr period.  A total of 22 calls to my work number.  I ended up turning the phone ringer off so I would not get these calls.  I told them that I was contacting the local authorities and the Attorney General of No Carolina, which I know is not where they are really calling from.  What can be done to stop the calls?  They refuse to send out any paperwork proving that I do owe them.

This is a telephone number used by fraud/scam artists to try to extort funds from U. S. citizens, falsely identifying themselves as "Brian Ross" and stating that they are investigators from the State of North Carolina.  This could possibly be tied in with identity theft as well as harassing telecommunications.  Currently under investigation.

Mark called from 336-6009-7634 and said I owed $300 and with the legal fees $525. He was very treating  but I did not order any thing over the internet back in 2009 - 2010. He did not have an exact date. He said he was going to put a stop on my social secuity number and drives license. He did have some of the numbers. Very, very scary.

Be very, very careful. This does not exsist.

There is no being "nice" to these people. They are hardcore criminals operating an extortion scam out of India. Read my previous post and be sure to let your employer know they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt. They may need to get law enforcement involved.

I have been getting calls from a person allegedly named Mark Messy. He is very rude, screams, yells, calls my job numerous times. I have been trying to be nice to him and not create any problems for me at my job, but it is not working. I have told him to stop calling my workplace, but he will not. Something needs to be done to put these people out of commission.

Have you reported this scam to the FTC? They are in the process of prosecuting one of their front men for criminal fraud. Nothing can be done about them if you don't.

This company is  a fraud.  They don't tell you what the call is in reference or how you  can contact them because they are actually trying to get your info so they can sell it or identy theft you.  Any legal debt collection company that calls you the first thing they do is identify themselves as a debt collection company, they ask if you can make a payment or when, also a written statement is sent via mail of the debt .Also they
have no problem giving an address because they want the payment.  I reported them to the FTC, The Attorney Generals Office in my state and theirs NC,  the police, and all 3 credit bureaus. This man uses an Indian accent and all all he does is shout, curse, and repeatedly call places of business to tie up phone lines.

Print off this thread and give it to your employer:

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

ABC News released an investigative report on this scam in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

They are a fraud. You owe them nothing and no one is coming after you.  They are calling from another country and routing the calls through Greensboro, NC.  I have been dealing with them also.  I would just let it go but they have a lot of personal information.  I called them back and told them i needed a physical address to send the authorities to. I told them they were wanting to check their credentials. I was hung up on and now i am unable to reach them.
