I received a call from this number and called it back.  I used the 411 option and put in a random last name to reach a person.  I got Connie at ext. 10933.  I gave her my VA claim number NOT my ssn.  She told me the status of my claim.  This is not a scam, if it was they would have to had to hack into the VA computer system and get all of my claims and status.  This is a real number.

This is the VA number for winston salem, I called the 800 number and they did have the notes from 3366315200 called and asked me about. They have to put notes in the computer and if you call the 800 number they could confirmed that notes is in the computer and it was a VA that called. This phone number is really the VA. Just got off the phone with the VA.

My mom works at the Winston Salem va office on N main st. This is their dial out number. I need to save it in my phone. I didn't answer this morning because I didn't recognize it. If you don't live in the state I think this is a regional office that covers a large area of a few states. Call the phone company and report it. They will set you straight about it.

Oh yeah, by the way, the VA will ask for your last 4 and your birthdate to verify the validity of your identity in an attempt to prevent anyone trying to pretend to be you.  It is not illegal there Kathy in no shape or form.  I do not know where you get your information but you are badly misinformed.  Your bank will do the same verification when they call you so I guess you must think that the bank calling you about your account is a scam too.  Stop drinking the koolaid and use your head for something besides a hat rack.

Well go ahead and report it and do all that you think is necessary.  Then your VA claim will continue to take forever.  I for one answered the phone calls from this number and provided information updates, and went to the VA center when they requested a follow up doctor's visit relative to my claim.  So all that coupled with the fact that this was the number that came through when I was informed that my claim had been processed and that it was in the mail (5-7 business days to reach me) and guess what? 5 days later it was in my mailbox.  I will let everyone know that this is NOT a SCAM.  But do what you want, it is a free country.

I receive calls from this number all the time and it is a legitimate Dept of VA phone number out of Winston Salem, NC. It is not a scam...just received a call a few minutes ago and it was my DAV rep updating me on my claim status.

You did the right thing!  The number belongs to a known SCAM with the intent to commit fraud.

This number is NOT the VA!  It is a known SCAM trying to illegally obtain Social Security numbers to commit FRAUD!  The VA will NEVER ask you over the phone for such information and in FACT it is ILLEGAL TO DO SO!  NEVER EVER GIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE TO ANYONE YOU DO NOT KNOW OR HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT.  Call the police instead and report it!

I have been dealing with the VA on an issue with my claim, and they call from this number.  I am asked security question to verify who I am but have NEVER been asked for my SSN.  This is a legitimate phone number for the VA in Winston-Salem.

i got a call from this number today. it rang three times then whoever hung up before i could answer. i tryed calling back but it would not let my call go thru. if it is the v.a. in winston-salem i want them to call back so i can cuss them out. they are dragging out my claim. it has been two years and they continue to play games.

Got a call from this number on my 12 year old daughters cell phone, tried to call back and was asked to enter an extension number, transferred to someone who immediatley hung up

I got a call today, the third one in two days.  This time, I was home to answer the call.  The woman on the phone identified herself to me with her name, as well as information about the VA Regional Office.  She never asked for my SSN, and she spoke to me concerning where my claim was in the process since I called last month asking for the status).  So, as many of you above claiming this is a legit number, you are 100% correct.  Everyone else, please know that this number is valid.  It's safe.

received call from this # claiming to be a VA rep. and was asked to give my daughter's ssn. called # back and got a recording that will only hang up and not actually do anything. I am reporting to the local authorities.

recieved a call from this number who said his name was Rodney from the veterans administration and he wanted to verify some information on my claim . he ask for my s.s. number. i declined and when i called his number back, guess what? recording... not v.a. offices

This is VA calling.  If you call back you will get a recording that does not identify where you are calling.  Your choices are to either enter in a persons extension, listen to directory, or hold the line for an operator.  I knew the persons extension so got right to that persons phone.

My husband works for the VA in winston salem. This is the number that comes up each time he calls. Like Z Wilson said, you wont get directly to a person calling back this number. Its kind of like a hospital- there is one dial out number, but you cant contact anyone when you call it back. It's a legit call.

I've been getting calls from this number, ringing on both my home and cell for several days. Nobody there when I answer. No message left when I don't. I call back and get an automated system and no way to get an operator, and no information who they are. I tried a lot of combinations trying to hit on someone's extension but no luck.

I was this close to reporting it as a nuisance call to the phone company when I checked here. My husband is a disabled veteran.  We are not in North Carolina, though. I tried calling the VA 800 number, but couldn't get through to a person. I don't know how to find out what they want.

This is a number to the VA internal phone/answering system. If you dial 411 at the extension prompt, you should be able to find your person by name and then dial their number.

Yes, the VA does ask for that info in order to identify you are the veteran. They have to verify this because of the Privacy Act.

Got a call from this number, tried to call back but it asked you to "enter the extension you would like to reach"?? I will report this to the police department if I receive it again.
