I get 15 calls a day from 859 no

We get calls from this number daily.  If you do not speak, the number disconnects after about 10 seconds.  If you speak, a recording starts, saying "if you are a senior citizen..."  By then I hang up.

I receive daily calls and these folks are not going to take NO for an answer. and do NOt place you on DO NOT CALL list.

This is a forum for people who are receiving unknown/scam calls.  We cannot block or stop the calls - you have to tell the caller to stop.  If they won't stop calling, then all you can do is report them and block the number on your phone (your telephone company can do this for you).

Please block this number.  This is almost a daily occurrence at my house!

Would you please stop calling. When we anwser no one replys. Leave message and no message. This is fair warning continue and I will call the Attorney General.

I receive calls from the Medical Alert outfit at least twice a week.  I am on the "DO NOT CALL LIST", yet these unwanted calls continue.  I have asked them each time they call to take my name off of their list.  They claim that they will, but what happens?  In the next day or two, in comes another call from them.  HELP!!!

Robo call for the medical alert system, I listened to most of the recording and then pushed one to talk to a live operator. (My objective is to keep their line and operator tied up for as long as possible.) Sheila answered the phone and asked if I was familiar with the system and I said no. She then proceeded to describe the system for the next five minutes and mentioned several times the equipment normally cost $400 but is being provided free, the only cost I would be obligated to would be a $34.95 monthly fee. I told her I was not interested but asked if there was a do not call list and if she could put me on it. She hedged and continued to try to sell the service. I suggested that they did not maintain a do not call list and discussed that the telemarketing industry was out of control and told her my objective of tying up her and the phone line. She suggested that I was not being very nice. I suggested that the industry was being far worse by making hundreds of thousands of unsolicited cold calls, bothering hundreds of thousands of people who have no interest in their product. I again asked about the do not call list and she hedged. I asked if there was a manager there that I could talk to and she said ?OK I?m going to put you on the PERMANENT do not call list and hung up.
She said she was calling from North Carolina which matches the area code displayed on my caller ID

I kept their phone line tied up for 15 minutes, and their operator tied up for about 11 minutes,  I?m pretty happy about that small victory.

Person refused to stop talking when I tried to tell him I did not order nor want any such medical atert system delivered to me. This is the fourth time someone has called about such a scam. What a pain/jerk.

I get this call every day.  I do not answer.  I know it is a scam as I have not ordered nor anyone I know has ordered one for me.

I have received many calls from different numbers from these people.  I have blocked them every time.

Same call from a Medical Alert fraud.  They prey on seniors, telling them everything is paid for, delivery, etc., but neglect to mention $30.00/month service fees!!!!   This one appeared to come from Greensboro NC.  The recording was very good, almost as if a human was speaking, but the person who actually came on the line was a moron.

That is true; if they're calling from outside of the US, then they'll probably keep calling.  Some people have had some luck with telling them they're recording all calls to give to law enforcement.

Block the number, and also tell them next time they call that you are recording all their calls to pass on to your local police as well as the state's Attorney General.

Next time they call, tell them you are recording the calls to give you your state's Attorney General, as well as your local police (even if you are not recording).  Scammers do NOT like to be recorded!

John continues to call daily about a medical alert system wanting to schedule delivery.  This is a scam, did not order and do not need.  How do we stop the calls?

You get these calls because scammers, mostly located outside the US using VOIP technology to appear to be from the US, don't care about US laws.  If this is an actual US company just report to the FTC as a Do Not Call violation and probable scam because of the fake order placed.  They usually want delivery information for this "already paid" order but do you know of any company that would accept an order without delivery information?  I sure don't.  What is likely to actually happen is if they come to deliver the items, you will be suckered into a long term expensive monitoring contract.  In reality, the entity who placed the "order" is actually the company itself. They make their money on the monthly monitoring fees plus wear and tear fees on the equipment when the contract ends and you do not renew and have to return the equipment.  Almost identical the the "free home security system" scams.

I have been getting this same person about once a week for two months or more.  I am registered with the "Do Not Call Registry" and don't understand why I get these calls.  Jean.............do you know if that has worked?

Would like to know how to get "JOHN" to STOP calling.... Any legal means?

I RECEIVED A CALL AND THEY WANTED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO DELIVER A PREPAID MEDICAL ALERT SYSTEM.  I ASKED THE CALLER WHAT KIND OF SCAM THIS WAS.  SHE SAID THEY HAD BEEN IN BUISNESS FOR 30 YEARS AND IT WAS NO SCAM.  I ASKED HER WHERE SHE GOT MY PHONE NUMBER AND SHE SAID I GAVE IT WHEN I ORDER AND PAID FOR THE MEDICAL ALERT.  I TOLD HER I NEVER ORDERED THE SYSTEM, IT IS A SCAM AND TO TAKE ME OFF THE CALLING LIST.

Cannot seem to find out who this caller is but I receive many calls a day!  Please help!

I continue to receive calls from  some male claiming to have some type of medical equipment to deliver. I have requested to be taken off the list. I have ordered no  equipment and would like for these calls to cease.  This is not the first type call I have received of this nature from 336-859-6217. Denton, NC. When you return the call, it rings busy.

This is  medical Alert co claiming someone paid for a unit for me but this is false. It is a gimmick and I am on Do Not Call List.  Thy continue to cal daily and I am an elderly person with no need for this Alert which I have told them.

it was one of those trip and fall sales things. sounds real, it's automated.
