Brother just got the same call in ATL. Said brother/ father in accident at Northside Hospital.

Just had the same call, from the same number. Told me my brother was in an accident by Northside Hospital and he had asked this caller to call me. Told caller I had no brother or any relatives in Atlanta. Caller said "are you sure?"  I replied "yes, what is the name of the guy who was in the accident?"  The caller hung up. I was the victim of IRS fraud last year. Someone used an old address of mine in Decatur to file for a refund. IRS fraud department told me they had busted rings in most major cities, including Atlanta. Apparently, these guys get their girlfriends to get a job in the billing departments for physician offices in Atlanta - which, of course, gives them access to all your personal info, including social security numbers. IRS Fraud guy said it is getting worse. They usually file the false return in January before you file your return. Since tax season is over, they must have switched to this scam for the rest of the year. :-)

My bf's father and sister received a call and were told my bf had been in an accident and was at a local hospital. My bf is a police officer. Somehow they are searching public records.

Received phone call this after on stating my brother was in a bad accident and that he was in trouble in Brooklyn and that needed to bring $5,000 ransom. They had me going for two hours scared to death and was son my way to Brooklyn when I found out he was ok. I reported this to the Marlboro NJ police station and they said there was nothing I could do. The phone call. Came from 347 225 5564.

I'm in Atlanta and they said they was going to kill my mom... big scam.

I just received a call saying that my brother was in a car accident and that he asked for this guy to call me ( his sister).  Unfortunately for him that I do not have a brother that lives by me.  He insisted that it was some sort of relative of mine.   Husband, fiancé, uncle. He asked me for my husbands name and told him to tell me first what  the name of the person is. He then hung up.  

Same thing happened to my husband today. Same type of call, please beware.

Yo they called my son's aunt and stated that my son was in a car accident and hit their car and they were holding my son for 1000 dollars in ransom.  I immediately called my son because he will answer my calls. He picked up the phone immediately.  I told him what happened and he could not believe it.  He immediately went online and put in this number and found out it was a scam.  We called the number back and a Hispanic gentleman answered the phone the same one who placed the call to my son's aunt.  But he just act like he didn't know what we was talking about.  But it was the same guy.  We tried to call back again and there have been no answer some them.  Can someone tell me who the hell plays with people family like that ??? And I had the money on deck to get my only child my only son but it just didn't sound right.  I was scared as s*** thou ......

I received a phone call from this number told me they were going to kill my son I was paniced and fell for the scam and sent money.  I feel violated.  Do not fall for this ask specific questions that only that person would know!!

Hi there...I am a police officer working a case like this currently, same scenario except it was a woman who received this phone call about her son. They are concerned about the caller and I wanted to ask if you were anywhere near the Daytona Beach area? Trying to figure out if there is common ground between the recipients of these phone calls. Thank you!

I got a call from this number today telling me that my father was in an accident and that he was hurt badly. They said that he had hit the callers brother and they had taken him to their house where they would keep him until I gave them my info and paid them. He was being held ransom for $1900. I asked specific questions and gave them the wrong name and make/model for his car they confirmed the wrong info so I knew it was a scam. Then I laughed at him and told him to get a job. He didn't like that very much hahaha what a looser! Ask specific info right away and DO NOT give them anything that they can use to identify you.

Got a phone call from someone trying to get information about me. Sounded like identity theft.
