Yes, these creeps not only trashed my computer, while saying they were with Microsoft, but wanted to fix all the problems for hundreds of dollars.  They call me for three months, with a different name each time.  The same guy every time, every day, and using a land line we never really use.  His accent was Indian,with his sweet smelling cab.  Etprotection @ 1-347-227-6912 San Francisco 91159 support@etprotection.com.  An expensive lesson, that is hard to understand, how they get by with it.

I got a call from Juan from could barely understood but finally said he was calling for Microsoft ET. Kept telling him it's too loud I can't hear you. So he then puts on a supervisor that I again can't
understand. Googled the phone # and read to them that you come up as a scam. Quiet on his end. My husband called my cell phone told supervisor to hold on. Told my husband whole story of scam and rude people( loud enough for Juan or whoever can hear). Finally hung up and haven't heard back from them. They did not like that I would not tell them how many people used my computer. They then asked me if me and my husband use the computer,what makes them think I am married

Caller from this number claims to be Steve and wants me to go immediately to my computer to fix a virus problem.  Claiming to work for Microsoft, thick accent and very reluctant to provide the number.  I told him I couldn't talk long, had people here...gave me the number....I than said, well my machine is in for service, maybe I will just have the computer tech contact their direct rep at microsoft...ended our conversation rather quickly.

This scam should be being dealt with...be cautious.

Same thing here.  An Indian guy named "Sandy" tried to tell me that he works for Microsoft and wanted me to quickly go to my computer and check for viruses.  I asked for his number so I could call him back later.  I get calls from guys like this every week now.  If anyone lives in the 347 area code, perhaps they can pay this scammer a visit for me.  You know what to do.

Yup Pedro called me from the same number.  A little Googling (http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/blog/201 ... -scam-continues) shows this is part of an indian call center scam that pretends to be from Microsoft. Microsoft has its own toll free number and they never cold call you unless you submit a ticket to them first. Please alert your friends and family not to give them any info or let them access your PC remotely (they'll give you a number to type in, do not do it).

Got a call from them twice now telling me that they are sub contracted with Microsoft and he is calling because my computer is infected with errors and they want to help me fix them.  Both times I have declined.

Someone from ET protection called me today.
His name was Pedro and he had this thick accent. There was background noise (loud call-center noise? someone talking in background, phone ringing and etc)

He was hard to understand, but apparently, there has been emergency infection and I had to protect my compute by following his instruction.
I told him I do not know how to use the computer and got this number from him

I asked for the name of the company and he said D,E,T I asked if it was called DET protection and he said no, ET protection... The man was very confused.
