They call me almost everyday from multiple numbers including 347-289-3901.  I have made a police report and changed my cell number...now they call my office.  Everytime they call me i call them back and harass them back!!  I kept calling the other day and probably called them every name in the book. They wouldn't answer..I kept blowing the number up until finally they started answering saying they were the grand hotel...they really don't like when you harass them back..lol.  Anyway they accuse me of the same things that I owe some payday loan and the police told me to ask for documentation which they never send.  Frank, Robert and Jack keep calling only they don't sound like that would be their names of course they sound Indian decent....Today I am just getting my office number changed I'm sick of playing games with these people!

These people i have read about on this forum are calling me...Joe Marshall is my attendant though. They say i owe on a debt for a friend of mine..Knowing her name and all..Such weirdos!!

The latest evolution of the "pay day collections" scam. Instead of claiming to be from law enforcement, they claim they are from a debt consolidation service that is contacting you because of an "impending action against your name and social security number".

Same as above. It is a scam. They have hacked someones website and got information. That's how they have all your info. They claim to be at 3001 new York rd Brooklyn ny 12005. Joe Marshall was the callers name. Needless to say I have turned it over to the police.

ACS is NOT regulated by the New York City Police Department or the Office of Consumer Affairs. We have had numerous complaints regarding this company.

I have been getting these calls all day.  The guy said his name was John and was very verbally abusing. He called me a b***h and a Liar and used the F work repeatedly when I told him I did not know what he was talking about.  He would hang up and call back accusing me of hanging up and continue to verbally abuse me.  Finally, I pretended that I was going to pay in order to get his information.  I got the name of the company ACS Affidavit Consulting Services which I cannot find on line.  I requested that he send me documentation of the debt and he refused threatening to send me to court.  This man would not allow me to speak with a supervisor and refused to give me any information.  I did contact the company that I do have a loan with and they know nothing about this company.

I am contacting the attorney general of my state and looking at what can be done about this.

I am receiving calls from Alvin Hodge of ACS- Affadavit Consulting Services- supposedly based out of Tampa Florida- the number coming up is 772-409-6079- when you check this number online it does not populate a company name- I was receving calls from a Michael prior to this- they are saying that I too, have an outstanding loan ranging from 400.00 to 5000.00. I do not- I jsut called my local sheriffs and filed a complaint against them.

finally, some other people in this world who are getting harassed as much as i am. they have "migrated" to tampa...funny story but i was getting phone calls from similar people (american named gentlemen w/ indian accents. dude, be honest w/ me and say your name is ahmed or something)...but i was getting calls from california based "law firm" who sttd that i owed them money. i almost paid them until i began researching and realizing they were a scam...i ignored them and attempted to file a suit against them but i never went thru and they stopped calling me.

now i'm having to deal w/ a new threat of same people but now they are in tampa. really?? yeah, i've got their name and phone# and i'm going to file harassment against them w/ the hillsborough sheriff.

I just got a call from this number, an Indian sounding person, saying that someone named Adrina Lunes (I think) had given this number when she took out a loan or internet account a year ago, and they were trying to collect on it. I have had my number for 6 years, and the number came up as blocked. When I asked for his number, he gave this number to me. I never did get his name.

He told me that he was calling from the legal department at ACS, but never told me what ACS stands for. He said that they were trying to collect something from Adrina, and that she had given this number to them over a year ago.

I've worked as a legal assistant for 2 years, and I know there are other ways to find people who give wrong numbers. I asked to speak to his supervisor, and he transferred me over to someone else who the same accent. I could barely understand half of what they said. They also gave me a different name of who had been using my number. Not knowing who they are or what they want, I told them I would not give them my name. He told me he didn't want my name, just wanted me to call the number he had given me, and talk to his supervisor. I thought I HAD talked to his supervisor...

I ended up telling him that I had looked up the number on the internet and found out that it was used by fraudsters, and to never call me again and then I hung up on him.

I usually never answer numbers that come up as 'Unknown' or 'Withheld' for obvious reasons, and the only reason I did today is because I am waiting for a call back from a job interview.


Reading over these other comments, if they do call me back I will refer them to the lawyers I used to work for, and file harassment charges against them. Legally, once you tell someone to leave you alone and they don't, it is considered harassment.

Also, he told me that he was calling from New York, I have a California number, and am a college student in Massachusetts. They call me back again, and I will call the FBI about them.

I received the same call today. Unknown Number.  Accent when speaking. Loud noises in the background and you cal tell it is a telemarketing thing.  Asking about my father and a debt. The nerve of these people.  Last time they called my phone asking for him, as my last name is not the same any longer, I treated them just the way they treated me, with disrespect and demanding attitute.  Demanding they remove my number from their database. Demanding they Do Not Contact me again or I will proceed with harassement charges.  To make it worse they call on your cell phone.  I'm not paying for their call. As far as I'm concerned they reached a wrong number when it is not my debt!!!!

I just received a phone call today from an eastern indian man named Joe Marshall with ACS stating he is a Washington D.C. Attorney Bar #56125 and he is calling from 347-844-6817. I called him back @ 347-844-6647 and he stated I took out a payday loan for $300 in September 2009 and he is filing a summons today for the money. They have all of my information because I did request a payday loan online and I know this is where the information came from because the address I used  is the address they have (which by the way is not my address). He also left this same message on both of my references phones as well. I asked him to email me the information he has to confirm I owe this debt and I did get an email. It is a settlement initiation letter for Advance Cash USA wanting my credit card # to deduct $400 from my account. He is now calling me continuously harrassing me and my family and we dont know what to do accept not answer the calls. If anyone knows how to prosecute these people, please pass the information along.

I got phn calls & msgs from David Brown regarding payday loan my sister obtained. She says she never applied for online payday loan. The attny for this office is supposedly Joe Marshal bar number 56125. When I called to talk to attny, attny was gone for the day. I advised the caller that my sister had called and talked to them yesterday & he became beligerent. I would like for this fraudulent business to cease & desist as I am sure they have gotten some poor soul to give their their debit/credit care number for something they did not do.

I received a call today from ACS affidavitt also they told me that I had frauded on my account and had a warrant for my arrest. I ask them what were they talking about--the first person name was James Franklin then he gave the phone to a James Carter who is suppose to be a legal counselor the number they gave me was 347-435-2180. He got real smart mouth with me too. But I stated that if they were really a law office then why didn't they send me a letter through the mail like other law offices, he stated that it was against federal law for them to send out a letter to a physical address. He stated I owed $300 but that was not including the lawyer fees which will be $686 but if I could pay $410 that would settle the debt.They finally stated Cash Advance. Later that night they called me at home from this #347-416-5175 speaking with a Officer Riley and finally an Officer David Smith and he stated that I was going to be arrested on my job if I didn't pay a good faith payment of $150 on friday or I would be arrested.

I received a call from this same number.  He sounded Indian and it also sounded like a loud call center.He said his name was "Mike Morris" and this same man also called from 1-347-602-4542.  I got the bit about the "blessed day", also.  He's trying to collect on a debt that doesn't exist.  Please, everyone, if you receive calls of this type, just hang up and don't even call them back if they leave a message on your home phone answering machine.

The guy then said 'I will put bomb in ur office' and hung up. I later called him wondering why the h*ll he was calling me, stated tht he had info about me & my SSN and if I don't comply, would be serious issues. (More in depth though...) Eventually set up a payment plan w/ thus guy (with an invalid credit card mind u...wanted to research his company before giving him my actual bank account info) scared he would continue to contact my work (I told him not to and he said he would no longer call)....he then emailed me some docs tht needed to be signed & emailed back with a copy of my ID...I then started to research the company. Thank God I found complaints about this online. I will be filing a complaint with my AG and send him a seize/desist letter so he will stop harrassing me. he emailed me on wed, didn't email him back, he then called me 35 times in 1 hour the day after thanksgiving...I was livid

The number you listed is not a working number. ACS American Collection Services is not the Affidavit Consulting Service that is calling from multiple numbers. Additonally, to second what another reply stated, these people calling, regardless of which company they state they are representing are MOST definitely violating the FDCPA laws.SO IF these callers are part of your company, I suggest you get a handle on your India call center (I used to work for Dunn & Bradstreet and ran the command center for the outbound call queues, including their India office and am extremely well versed in FTC & FDCPA laws as well as previously being certified as a 1st & 3rd party debt collector) because they are seriously violating the law. Additionally, there is typically no 'expensive legal action" ever taken against any unsecured debt; especially not short term or payday loans. At most, the debt gets sold from collection agency to collection agency. Bigger companies, such as real banks, credit card companies, etc will pursue legal action and even then the worst action to be encountered is a court appearance w/a judge mandating a court order monthly payment amount...Nice try trying to scare people though...Have you checked out the current state of the economy? MOST PEOPLE AREN'T GOING TO CARE WHAT THE REPERCUSSIONS ARE FOR UNPAID DEBT BECAUSE THEY CAN'T PAY IT TO BEGIN WITH! LOOK AT HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE LOST THEIR HOMES. DO YOU THINK THEY CARE ABOUT A MEASELY COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS???!!!???

As a result of mulitple abusive phone calls to myself AT WORK and my family members, I am filing a complaint w/both the FTC & the FDCPA...and as a side note, PAYDAY loans are illegal in my state...so who's committed a crime?

I have gotten phone calls and I have not recieved a payday loan. So it is a scam how can you charge someone for something they didn't get. Further more you send bills in the mail showing proof of what your saying.

I received a harassing message from the same fraudulent group, but a different number 347-721-9849; however, the message is the same accusing me of defaulting on a payday loan. I have never had a payday loan. They have called my best friend and my sister. Each one has called the number and everytime they have been given different infomation such as the following: Jim Frenchman, Lee Johnson and Derrick Lewis are some of the names given.

I got a call from them as well. They call repeatedly and so I finally called them back. They had very basic American names but all had middle eastern accents. They accused me of having a pay day loan out and that I would have to challenge it in court. They said it was in October of 2009 and they had lots of proof against me, but I was deployed in Afghanistan at that time. I know it's a scam and we argued on the phone for a while. He sounded like he was getting very frustrated and finally hung up on me. I just hope they quit calling me. Also, they have all of my information, including my social security number. It's kinda scary.

I received a call today from someone saying they were calling from ACS because I took a Payday loan out with Advance Cash USA.  I did not take out a loan from them!  They called from 347-709-1652 and said their name was Eric Johnson.  He spoke with a very thick Indian accent and when I asked where he was calling from he was very rude!  He told me I had to pay on this loan or I would need to have my lawyer call them.....I don't owe this company!!!  When I told him that he just kept saying I had better get it paid!  I assked to speak to another person that I could understand and he yelled at me saying what....you can't understand me.  When I told him he was crazy and I owe him nothing he hung up on me.
