Heavy accent. Said he was with Microsoft and my PC was sending error messages to them. I told him my PC is running Linux, why would it send error messages to Microsoft? He said I can help you fix it. I asked him if he he could fix my linux PC. He said "Oh you are running linux?" Ha ha, the line went dead at that point. I guess he got confused with his scrip.

By the way, the command he wanted me to run was from the command line, 'fix.comxa.com'. He repeated it several times and I confirmed it several times - though sometimes he said www. in front.

It seemed like he was confuse about how to do the scam - but just to be safe I did not run anything. I googled it and didn't find any matches - just a website comxa.com that didn't look related.

I just got a call from these guys. It's weird but they were willing to stay on the phone for nearly an hour, when I almost immediately told them they're criminals trying to steal information for theft.

I told the person he's a liar and criminal over and over and over. Finally he agree he was, and I told him it's wrong to steal, asked him what his mother would say if she knew, and that I was going to keep him on the line until he hung up to protect the people he would be stealing from, because he'd have to hang up to try to make money from people he steals from. He kept talking. Finally he handed me off to another person - it sounded like a lot of people in a boiler room.

The other person I immediately remarked to that he's a criminal. After denying it he admitted it also, playing along. He agreed his mother would 'kick him out' if she new.

He claimed to be in New York City, 140 Broadway, I told him to give me the office number, he pretended to look it up and say it was x23, and that the company name is ired.

Then he said since moving to new York he hasn't gotten to have sex. I said I can believe that, because women don't like criminals and so no woman finds him attractive. I told him he should quit hurting people as a criminal, and then he can get a girl. He asked if I can help him get a job and that he'd resign today. He asked for my phone number saying he'd like to talk every day because I had good advice for him (the first person asked for it also, and had been threatening about how he has information about me, which I told him he's lying about and if not, say what the info is, which of course he couldn't).

I don't know why these guys stayed on the phone nearly an hour when I told them I was keeping them on the phone to keep them from stealing from people, but they did, it's quite weird.

Finally I asked the person for his home phone number so we could talk more and he gave me this number. I told him that's not a home phone number and started reading to him the comments from this site about how they're scammers.

Then he hung up finally.

By the way, why isn't there a call type of scammer? None of the types fit scammer.

I got a call from "Jennifer", an Asian-sounding woman who said she is employed by Iren (pronounced eye ren,, so I'm just guessing at the spelling). She wanted me to use the "run" feature also. I played along verbally but didn't do what she was asking. Then told her I didn't have time to complete this so got her phone# and name. I did a quick search of Iren but didn't find anything.

called for computer service...said they were located at 149 broadway in Manhattan NY...load of ****

they fixed my computer i am happy with their service

The people from 347-305-0007 represented themselves as PC Pitstop,who have the computer techs
that can correct your computer problems.  They promised that if I was not satisfied with their work,
they would return the $149.97 , contract for 3 years.  I had great difficulty communicating with them, and when
I said that I was not satisfied, and wanted to discontinue any more work after one week.  They would not agree
and keep coming up with more promises.  I paid my credit card company under protest and I am now trying
to negotiate with the management of the company that is actually called Radiant Outsourcing..

Twice today, I received calls from this number claiming to be iredtech.support. The second time a different person called. When he introduced himself, I said, Oh yeah, your a scammer. I read about your calls on the internet. Stop calling.

Received a call from 800 313-0000.  Man with a heavy accent.  Wanted to "fix" my computer.  Told me he was from
Microsoft and my computer was sending out "error messages".  He told me to call him back when my computer was on  347  305-0007 and ask for Douglas.  He works 24/7.  Blocked both numbers.

Trying to cover it up. I hope the Feds get you!

I just received a call from the same number.  I said I was not on my computer and that I would have to call back.. They gave me the number it was 347-305-0007 and ask for Parker.  Also heavy accent.  I was afriad it was a scam.. Glad I checked first.

Why would someone give a shady company $400 - $600. to fix their computer? You can get a new computer for that price, or you can get very good anti virus software for $20.00. Microsoft's EMET & Security Essentials are FREE. (As a note EMET for your windows computer might not be a bad idea right now. Do a search on 'Internet Explorer flaws')
