I got the same call and told them I already have a warranty on my car... They hung up! Scam! Report it!

I just got a call from this number on my cell phone. On the 5 second voice mail, all I could hear was faint music and that was it. No idea who it is or how they got my cell number as I only give that out to family and friends.

I don't have state farm but go the same call. Maybe the auto loan vendor?

The guy knew make and model of my new truck and said he was selling extended warranty. I told him he already knew the truck was brand new so why would I buy another warranty. He hung up. Got a call 2 days later from same number and didn't answer. Called it back and it says the number is disconnected. What a SCAM! Is there a way to report them to someone who can actually do something?

When I went to answer this call, it began to ring as if I were calling them. I immediately hung up & added it to my phone's reject list. My guess is that if they had answered I would have been charged for "calling" them at this out-of-state number.
I like that I can go straight online, type in the number and it tells me either who it is or other peoples' experiences with this number.

Phone rang. Checked Caller ID. Didn't recognize the number. Didn't answer. Done. No muss. No fuss. Not much time taken up with nonsense.
Didn't pick up to let the caller(s) know that it was a viable number. Didn't listen to find out what accent was used or what the purpose of the call was. Didn't care then. Don't care now.
Didn't get upset if the DNC was adhered to (I'm on it but scammers will find ways to get around it) or what Obama is going to do about it.
I have a life and instead of getting bent out-of-shape, morally indignant, cursing and slamming the phone down, and making this a big deal (instead of the small irritant that I choose to make it), I move on with my life. I'm in charge of what takes up my time.
That's just what I do. Simple. More power for me!

I got the same call as many of you have, from various other numbers as well. They asked about my Chevy I bought seven months ago. Somewhere along the line there has to be an information leak where these scammers are getting our info. I don't suspect it to come from the dealership as we all have a different make and model. Its likely an insurance provider or some third party vendor they may sell info to. Regardless it shouldn't happen. How they get our name, number, and make/model of our vehicles needs to be found out so it can be stopped. My insurance provider is Statefarm. If we all have statefarm then that is likely the source, either they got hacked or they sell info to scammers. Something to think about.

Received call from "Bob" from auto processing. Asked how many miles on my car and when I would not answer said 'do you own the car?" I said of course I do but who are you? Hung up on me. Did anyone else recently fill out a survey about buying a car from Maritz Research?

Called, said I don't keep the vehicle until... and they hung up before I got it out.
Called a cell-phone on the no-call list. Report these people to the FTC.

Called stating they were from AAA auto insurance wanting to sell extended warranty. Very argumentative and would not take no. Beware!

Called ID says, "UNKNOWN NAME 347-344-5987". They called 3/28 at 12:39 and left no message.

This unknown number showed up on my cell, when I called it back no one answered.
I got the same call yesterday from the same number. When I googled the number I found others have received the same call from the same number with scammers trying to sell an extended number.

Got a call from this number. They would not confirm which company they worked for and they hung up. When I tried to redial the number was disconnected and said it had been changed. In one minute? Seriously?
| Anonymous 2014-04-03 21:24:34 Unknown |
They called inquiring specifically about my vehicle related to warranty. Their first question was how many miles I had on the car. I vaguely and non-responsively said, "a lot." He asked again, I gave the same answer. He asked for a ballpark figure, and at that point I told him "I'm not giving personal info about myself or my car." He then hung up. Upon calling the number back, it is a recording saying the number is no longer in service.

Doug Sanders. When I said I don't know a Doug Sanders, he got pissy as he almost
shouted, "Look, you haven't signed up for the extended warranty yet and it is now overdue!" I simply said "Go ahead and sue me....and ask your wife to stop calling here too. We're SOOO over her!" He said "Eff you" and I hung up laughing!

Here we go again. Have received calls from them before. Did not answer today, and my machine recorded a few seconds of dead air. When I called back it said the number was disconnected. So there's no way to get on their "Do Not Call" list. What a PitA!

A call came in from this number. There was a real person leaving a message, "Hi, this is Claudia from the auto processing center..." That's when I decided to take the call. But, as soon as I got on the phone line, the call was disconnected. If there is a next time, I will let the message complete.
