I have this "company" rep wanting to recruit me into their company, "Marketing Success LLC".  Emma Pearson is the name given to me, and her phone number is 1-347-352-0053.  She gave me some URLs http://www.marketingsuccess-llc.biz/job/finance-bonus?lang=us and  http://www.marketingsuccess-llc.biz/registration/1 to complete my registration.  The thing throwing me off is the need for my bank account number, so they can transfer funds to me.  After a while, as promised, I am told I will receive a bank account of my own through their company.  This is shooting Red flags up everywhere.

Sure it's still your computer?  It's probably a zombie now.  Just a piece of advice...might want to check any accounts you typed in passwords for on that computer.

THIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected-corrupted scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.

A man with a heavy Indian accent called my house when I was at work and my boyfriend happened to anwer the phone (who might I add knows nothing about my computer).  The guy told him that his name was Mike Stuart with Global Software Security and that my computer's anti virus protection had expired and that I needed to renew it.  So what does my bright boyfriend do???  Gives "Mike" his CC#!  Thank goodness his bank did not allow the transaction to go through.  This company is a scam and I can't believe that this has gone on for so long with them.  Heck they're probably not even calling from this country.

[removed:lang] alert!  None of your post makes sense!  Keep trying to spell "computer" ... maybe you'll get it right one day... maybe not.

"Then paid 249$ to"  well, to what?  To a scammer I guess.

SHILL ALERT!  Nice try loser. Your English grammar is so poor that it is clear you are part of the scam.  What's the matter?  Not enough people falling for your scam anymore?  Customers of legitimate businesses do not come to sites like this to post testimonials because the phone numbers for legitimate businesses rarely end up here.

Thanks for playing.

Remember all five fingers on the hand are not the same.

Got a call from man with Asian accent to fix my computer, very persistent, vague about who he works for. I also called back the number they gave me 347-352-0133, said they are in NY, another man with foreign accent answered. Didn't go for it. Really sounds like a scam.

I answered a call at My Mom's home today. Voice was very heavy accented probably Indian. He told me he was from Windows office and that they were getting error messages from the computer every time that I looged onto the internet from this location! I played dumb and told him I needed to call him back because I had a 'bad connection! He gave this number! (Usually when I ask scam callers for the phone number they disconnect). I then told him that I know that he is a scam caller! He denied it. I was thrilled to reveal to him that this 'location' had no computer whatsoever. Mom's in her 90's and has never had a computer. I told him I was reporting him to my State Attorney General's office.

My mother got a phone call from these people.  The guy told her that her computer was malfunctioning & she told him that she didn't have a computer & he asked if someone else had her computer cause he was on it & she told him again she didn't have a computer & he said "we can help you."  She called me thinking maybe they got her information from my computer.  I told her to report it to the police & don't call them back!

"Sam from Microsoft" called offering to fix an issue on our computer - only problem, he make the mistake of saying what OS we were running and he was wrong. I take some comfort in knowing that this guy will probably end up in hell when he dies.

The scam continues - "Andrew" continues to call people who are not savvy enough to know he is scamming them.  Anyone who has suffered a loss can report to the Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov.  You might also want to contact your local neighborhood watch and senior centers to suggest they educate citizens of these types of scames.

It is a SCAM! Just hang up on them and never give them ANY info. Someone needs to send a ?mechanic? to take care of people like this, not the workers but the heads of this organization.

Just got a call from a heavily accented Sam Jones of Global PC Support today trying to help me fix a corruption in my hard drive.  I kept asking him questions about which computer of mine he was referring to and how did he know that I had an issue.  I finally told him that I did not feel comfortable blindly following his directions, however I would be happy to pass his warning on to the technical support person that I use.  He told me that he would fix my computer for free where as my tech support guy would charge me a lot.  I then asked him his name, number and company name, so I could call him back with any questions.  That's when he gave me 347-352-0133.  This is the second call I've received from them in the past six months.  If anyone finds out how to report them, please pass it on.  I may check Angie's List and see if there is a way I can post it there.  They are really good at making you feel like they're legit.  Fortunately for me, I'm a super cynic and plan to stay that way.

I just received a call from MIKE WILSON who said he was from MicroSoft & they had detected viruses on my MS operating computer. I asked 'Which computer?' but he pressed on. I asked for the number so I could verify who he was & he gave me the above number. However, my CID said New York 212-456-7890. I called THAT number & the short recording said it was an 'Unassigned Number.' It all sounded bogus to me & I gave the asian-accented man NOTHING! (Tues, 11/06/12, 3:30pm)

I just got a call with the same story from "Sam".  I played along just to see what they wanted to do.  They did show me the error on my computer and then I was transferred to another person.  However, they told me my hardward/software license was out of date and I was obligated to renew.  SCAM.  I told them my "father" wasn't home and they said they would call back Monday.  After I hung up and read this post, I called them again.  The lady wasn't really clear when I asked what company she worked for.  Eventually she said Global PC Support 247.  I then proceeded to tell her she was a scam and she wasn't to call again.  She said OK and hung up.
