Received my bill from Shaw,On it was a charge for an accepted collect call from 347 368 0984 . the amount charged 3.89 for 3 min.This was to my land line. the date was Feb the 2nd 2018. The call was listed as operator
assisted from NY. I never received or okayed a call from them nor have i ever contacted this number. I ask Shaw how scammers make money from this? Shaw's answer - 3rd parties bill Shaw,Shaw pay's the bill and recoups it from the customer. Just by looking at the 3 pages of complaints here ( re bills from service providers ) it is obvious that all types of telephone platforms are compromised.The variety of companies that recoup from the customer all use the same billing model. I have checked many of the phone lookup sites (the free ones) and was shocked by how wide spread this scam is. Those of us who do things old school and actually
get to look at a bill stand a better chance of spotting the scam. Those who do everything over the phone and allow service providers to tap their bank accounts through any form of e bill payments are at severe risk. Most people in the latter category will not have the time to check for money hemorrhages.As for the service providers they will do nothing to protect you unless bombarded with complaints. A lot of people who do see their bills will look at the small amounts on the bill and will let it pass.Some companies will raise prices to cover their loss rather than address the fake bill issue. So the scammers who tap your wallets are getting very rich and count on inaction to
to keep them in business.So complain loud and complain often. Make the service providers live up to their promise
of safe guarding E transactions Boycott them if they don't. Simply taking scam charges off the bills of only those who complain is not enough.Service providers make Billions per year and can deal with this problem without you having to foot the bill.

I have had the same problem.  I do not use my phone and am the only one who has access to it.  I received charges from Triton Global saying I dialed directory assistance.  Telus claims that is also the case.  There have been three calls over the last year that I did not make.

I also received a $2.99 charge on my Rogers phone bill that was described as a third party charge from Triton Global for 207-591-4861 Dir Assist.  I did not request or authorize any directory assistance services and after speaking to a Rogers rep, they removed the charge.  Apparently just aswering a call from this scam number can result in a charge.  So much for my theory of answering all telemarketer calls to stop their repeated calls until they get an answer!

I found a $3.99 charge on my Telus phone bill described as a third party charge from Triton Global for 3473680986 Dir_Assist.  I did not request or authorize any directory assistance services.  Telus said they would refund the charge "one time."  It appears that people are unknowingly being  hit with third party charges they did not authorize and were not aware of.  Telus advised that if people dial toll free numbers such as  800, 877, 866 and are redirected to another number, here is where the extra charges kick in.  Apparently the telephone companies are getting a percentage of each third party billing.  
If you have been a victim, please complain to your phone company, and in Canada to the CRTC and Canadian Anti Fraud Center (note the CCTS (Commission for Telecommunications Complaints won't take the complaint since the third party biller is not a telecommunications provider)

I complained last month to rogers customer service about a $3.99 charge I had under my home phone directory assistance portion of my bill for a number 347-368-0984 listed as Triton Global which is a scam (and also many other rogers customers have received also. I was told the charge was for an 800 number I called at 2am on a sunday morning , which at the time I was sleeping ..after arguing with the rogers rep for 20 minutes to get the charge reversed I was passed on to a supervisor and was told if I want it refunded I have to deal with triton global to be reimbursed as rogers already paid them on my behalf ..the supervisor finally unwilling agreed to cut the charge and I noticed on this months bill it was not removed ..I now realize the supervisor just gave in and said the charge would be reversed but just this one time only and any other charges I receive from triton I would have to pay ..which is bull crap seeing as I never made the call ..and after all this I noticed on this months bill the charge was not removed and I am convinced the supervisor from rogers just said whatever she had to say to get me off the phone and had no plans of taking the charge off ..I also told her to google the number (347-368-0984) and they would see the many many complaints from people also that had been scammed by Triton in the same way I was with this $3.99 charge ..but she had no interest checking it out ...she also told me Triton Global is a Legitimate company ..also noticed they have rogers logo on their website ..hmmm makes me wonder if rogers has a stake in this company that scamming people
If the Rogers rep reads this just google the number I provided ( 347-368-0984) and you will see all the postings of people that are being robbed by Triton Global ..I know it only $3.99 but the point is I never made the call and was told I would reimbursed after arguing with the supervisor but I guess everything coming out of her mouth was crap ..she said what I wanted to hear to get me off the phone with no intention of removing the charge ..another example of Rogers putting their customers first! NOT!!

I called a 1800 number left on my answering machine to alert me of a food contamination possibility about pizza,s i purchased from COSTCO When I called to learn the details of the concern there was a message informing me that number was not valid and press 1 to get the correct number after explaining why I was calling they advised me they could not find the correct number I asked were and who was I talking to they informed me they were a pay 411 service .I asked if they were charging me for this and they said no as no number could be provided . I now have a charge of 3.99 on my bill for a service I did not solicit and information that was never provided. This is in my opinion FRAUD as I was not informed this was a pay service .THEFT by charging for nothing delivered . as DECEIT by saying I would not be charged . !800 numbers should not be allowed to charge without making an advisement of their intention

I Just checked my statement and see this # 3473680984, on my bill, charged Dec4, and as others I have never made a call and this scam of charging other callers from Triton Global Directory Assistance should be reported to FBI and followup should be made who these people are and what are their motive with this scam.

Check your phone bills this month everyone. I had a 3.99 charge long distance from Triton Global. A US carrier for long distance assistance. Did not use them. Did not call for assistance. The number they said I was looking up was 347-368-0984, which apparently is a US solisitor. Called Bell, wanted 40 minutes to talk to a representaive and no help or refunds. Looked up Triton Global on Google. They have a list of complaints. Or key in the phone number and you can see the complaints to Bell.
Let's see how many of us were ripped off. Maybe the cops need to be informed of yet another scam!!

I had a charge on my bill from Bell for3.99 for Jan 10 , 2013. I will call back to see if I can get a refund as I was told I had made this call which No one here has made.

Was charged $3.99 for a Dec.12 call for this number on my February Primus account . I know I did not call this number. Primus credited my account. How do we stop this form of fraud?

Shaw was no f'ing help at all, they didn't even want to hear what I was saying that I found out information that is number is a scam and I don't want to pay that 3.99 and he just kept saying, "oh,Tritan Global is a legit company and here is their customer service number 1-866-340-4990 and you can call them and talk to their customer service department  He said that they have on record that I called an 1-800 number that was discontinued and I pressed 1 for the new number"  I told this prick that I did not make any such call, why would I use an alternate long distance provider when I already have a good rate with Shaw??
I sure as hell would not press 1 for a new number, and then he said that Shaw has already paid for this and now Shaw is billing me"  I told him that I'm not impressed and and I will short pay the bill, and if anymore of this s*** is on my bill, I will cancel my whole tv/internert/phone and go back to Telus"

Please don't be so gullable! Read the posts. Obviously this company will say whatever they need to say in order to make themselves not look fraudualent.

received charge for Triton Global DIR_ASSIST on my Feb. bill from Bell for $3.99. called Bell & after a long wait (my patience was appreciated - so I was told many times), talked to a representative. she said Triton bills Bell so she would credit my account & backcharge Triton. Thank goodness for the Internet & those who post so these type of scams can be exposed.

I received my bill from Telus,it showed a call from Triton Global for $3.99.I called Telus ,spoke to Darren who was so helpful,checked out that I had not made the call and removed it from my account.I have never had a problem with Telus,always very helpful in solving any issue that I had.I have placed my # on do not call list but still receive telemarketers,if it is a number I do not know I do not pick up ,if it is important they can leave a message.

I have also got charges of 3.99 + taxes for this same call, same company Triton Global on my Jan 2013 bill!   My service provider Videotron accepted finally to remove this charge on my third attempt, i mentioned this site and alll the complaints about this same number and company...as their suggestion they have blocked all the 1-900 numbers to assure i won't get charge again from this number

What's wrong with Can tel cos? Not only do they overcharge us for incompetent service but have now become a BILL collector for America's low lives!  A friend visiting us from Germany found it was cheaper to use his German server for his cellular to place a call from Toronto via Germany to Burlington than using the public tel service in Toronto phone booth. Hard to believe.

Have just found out on my Bell invoice that this Triton global dir assist tel 313 416 1731 claims a charge of $3.99 which Bell just passes on to us. Reading all messages on the Internet it appears a lot of Canadians all around this country are being scammed and after wasting time, Bell would finally agreed to cancel the charge, but the girl said they would not do it twice(like Rogers tel said to one subscriber). So we kept arguing with Bell that we did not initiate any calls nor replied to messages, that have been received. It's a scam!

Don't give in just keep protesting the charge if you are innocent as it will never end and they could keep the scam going if the Canadian telephone companies do not stop them.  We get enough stupid request for surveys or even claims that our computer is needing services and asking us to open it!!  You know its illigitamet as we cant understand their English!!  Really?

A charge of $3.99 for Triton Global Directory Assistance appeared on my January bill. It was dated Nov 28. Of course it was totally bogus. After Googling 3473680984, and seeing what others have to say, I called Bell Canada  on Feb 4th to complain. The representative agreed to reverse the charge and bill it back to Triton. I'm glad we are able to interact with others on the Internet to right these wrongs.

I as well just got an invoice from Bell with a charge from Triton global on dec 17 @ 9:23am. I called Belle and they took the charge off. This is ridicolous such charges.

Hi All, I work for a major Telco in Canada.
 Customers have been seeing these charges on thier bills for the last few months now. ***PLEASE BE AWARE YOUR PHONE PROVIDER WILL NOT WAIVE THESE FEES*** Your provider was forwarded the charges by Triton Global, any and all inquiries and disputes need to be taken up with them. Triton has charged your provider in full and has been paid for the calls before you even see them on your billing. So should you see this again, please inquire with Triton. 9/10 times calls are coming from telemarketers, and in some cases the charged call was made to a 1-900 "chat line".

I got charged 3.99 + txes and I never call this number, unbelievable?
