Thank you very much people!!!! the same thing just happened to me right now.

I received a text from this number at 11:30 pm, PST.  They wanted to buy an item I posted on Craig's List in Southern California, and wanted to use Paypal.  When I investigated the phone number and saw it was a New York area code, I let them know that I would not ship.  They insisted that it was urgent that they get this item for their "cousin in West Africa".  I suspected a scam, and found this website - confirming my thoughts.  Don't bother answering texts or calls from this phone number!

Oh my god! You guys just saved me. I posted something on Craigslist and a couple days later (today) I got a text from (347)676-0685. Said they were interested in buying and told me to set up a paypal. I looked up the address he gave me cause it was from Nigeria and it seemed kind of suspicious. This was the information he gave me:

Glad I looked up his number online and found this site.  He sent me 6 text messages close to midnight about an item I posted on Craigslist.  I live across the states from him in CA.  

He wanted to Paypal me right away and said he would pay extra to have me ship the item to his cousin overseas.  I told him I only want to deal locally otherwise I would have listed it on eBay.

Got text messages from this number about an item I'm selling on Craigslist (inland impire) said he would pay through paypal, gave me his "address" in Nigeria, and then requested my paypal ID and name.....SCAMMER FORSURE! Here is the name and address given to me by the scammer.

If you live in a large city & want to sell on Craigslist- "NO Paypal, NO Western Union, NO Checks. Local ONLY, Cash ONLY". This will cut out 99% of the scams. Also, for people looking for dogs on Craigslist. Have you thought about getting a local rescue dog? Do yourself & the dog a favor.

Posted an ad on craigslist and got a text message almost immediately asking a bunch of random questions and would not answer any questions about themselves. Asked to have item shipped to them and offered to pay me through pay pal. Luckily I googled their number and this site came up. Thanks again for whoever started this thread I live clear across the country from these people and thought it was extremely odd that they would be contacting me from New York. Watch out for these scumbags. Best wishes

i recieved a txt at 1.30am from this person about an item i am selling on craigslist , i guess i won't be responding, thanks to this site, i see they have been scamming people.

Contacted me about my Craigslist ad and wanted me to set up pay pal account so they could pay me. But everything seemed odd from the start.
1 it was posted in orange county and riverside california only. The caller was from New York.

2. Offered more than I asked. Which seemed great but also seemed odd.

3. Very secretive about themselves, and very picky with what email you have and how fast you take to give them your info.

Very shady from the start. But thanks to my untrusting nature and this great website I found the truth about these losers.
