this number called today oct 4 at 10:30 am and left a messgae. said his name was Justin Black. I called back and a guy answered and said his name was Daniel with the U.S. Department of Legal Affairs employee ID 11538. told me that I was being pursued by the IRS for 1) Violation of Federal Tax Laws 2) Malucious Altering of a Consumer Instrument 3) Theft by Deception. The acent was distinctly arabic. I drilled them with specific questions on several fronts. They hung up the phone fairly quickly once they knew they're scam was exposed. whoever these peple are, they're going way too far trying to deceive people of their personal information. I've called back several times and the slimmy b*****ds won't even pick-up the phone.

Received call from 347-418-0489 at 6:30 am. A woman said she was calling to tell me to call her supervisor about the enforcement action and to have a pen & paper handy. What enforcement action? You have to call my supervisor to find out. Call had dings like it was being recorded. Hung up. She called back. I got angry and told her it was early morning and not to call again. She didn't.  Received a call later in a m. Nobody said anything, but line was open.

I had a message on my machine from 347-418-0489. It was a man with a strong Indian accent. He stated the name of the person he was calling for (not me) and then said:

"Hi. This is Shawn Farker and I am calling you from BCS. The reason of my call is to make you aware about a lawsuit and the (inaudible) against you and your socio. We have received some confidential paperwork from the courthouse which stating that your name and social security number has been listed as a primary suspect for a case against your name. So before this case gets started against your name and before something wrong happens to you, make sure you return this call (inaudible) on my number 347-418-0507. So call us back at your earliest time convenience. Thank you and have a nice day."

I called the 347-418-0489 twice. The first time it said it wasn't a valid number. The second time I manually dialed it with a "1" before the area code and an Indian man answered so I hung up.

Denzel Martin from the yellow pages has called our office three times this morning. He say's he is calling from the cancelation department and wants to verify that we want to cancel. I asked for his phone number so one of the doctors can call him back and he starts yelling at me! Telling me that he has to go step by step. Asking if I have a brain and how babies are fed. Step by step. Third time he called I tried to keep calm and follow his steps, but he wanted too much info and I started asking questions. Again he hangs up on me. Don't fall for it!!!

I am the secretary of our church and have received this call (from different names) several times each year. Today was different, Denzel Martin, #786 insisted he had spoken to the Senior Pastor who confirmed this "cancellation" and that I must approve the invoice/cancellation to be mailed to our address but (as he stressed) only saying YES.

That raises an eyebrow. I explained to him we have never advertised with the YellowPages and that he had not, in fact, spoken with our Pastor. He kept pushing.

LONG story short, I kept saying NO to everything he said (transferring me to the verification, etc...) which really angered him. "Why you keep saying no?" he yelled. I explained, again. After several times of this, I asked to speak to his supervisor.

"My supervisor is sleeping, you do what I say and do not say no!" he retorted.

Sleeping? Really? We kept on multiple times and he finally yelled a few more times and hung up on me saying we would be billed for renewal. I let him know that if we were, I would be reporting them because this was never authorized.

As many others have stated, DO NOT SAY YES! If they ask anything, say "that is the correct address" or "Correct, my name is...." HUGE SCAM!

Same prices were quoted (as others have noted) and they kept changing. Strong Indian accent, saying he was the Senior Executive Officer. What an annoyance!

An Indian Guy named Christopher Smith Called multiple time this week and claimed to be the General Manager of the Cancellation Department.  I advised them they would have to call our accounting office, but they continue to call here.  They give a cancellation reference # of U5347430.  Spoke with a Christopher Smith who gave me direction to give Sam in their quality control center a fake address that was provided by Chris in order to send us a bill for the services totalling $599.00.  Sam then Attempted to persuade me into making a credit card payment for the bill of $599.99 and receive a $100.00 discount.  I Refused to do so and that was the end of the call.

I work for a church and just got a call from foreigner claiming he was the Sr. account executive and he is confirming the cancellation of our Yellow Page online account because "the Pastor" asked him to cancel because it cost too much. They tried to get me to agree to being recorded as saying three things. State my name, then 1) Yes, I was eligible to approve the cancellation and 2) receive a cancellation number.  It all sounded like a hoax to me, so I asked for a copy of the contract that I was cancelling.  He argued that I was wasting his time, that I only had until today to cancel this contract.  At that point, he hung up.  Glad to see this scam is reported on the internet.

Total scam! Thank goodness I googled this number!  "James Smith", the senior supervisor, tried to scam us today, telling us we had to agree to an invoice of $599.99. They called my daughter with the same scam and said they would waive $100 if she agreed to pay it today over the phone. She didn't agree and hung up. When they called me back I told them that I googled this number and saw it was a scam, I told them to quit harassing us and told them I was going to report it. My daughter called the number back and it said it was disconnected. These people are total idiots, yet very persistent. I feel sorry for anyone who falls for this scam.

I also received a call from this number from 2 different people with horribly generic American names with thick Indian accents (laughable) both claiming to be the Senior Managers. Funny I never set up anything with Yellow Pages and honestly, who uses yellow pages anymore with Google searches?

See "Melinda's" message above.  The story they gave us is exactly the same.  These people are such scam artists - I caught them in lies and told them so.  They denied it.  I told them no one ever consented to be listed on-line with Yellow Pages.  We've gotten calls over the past couple of years and we hung up on them.  "Alex Smith" (who didn't sound like a 'Smith') told me that hanging up on the call meant that we consented to a listing!  What an interesting way to do business!  So, after being told that we needed to agree to cancellation and the charge of $599, I told them that our church attorney would handle this. I asked for their phone number so our attorney could contact them.  Alex hung up on me!  I hope these people don't prey on older people -- I almost hope they call back!  :)

Received a call from 347-418-0489 Yellow Pages Online.  This is a SCAM!  We were told that our account started in 2009 through 2011 and was free.  If we want to cancel our subscription we will be billed over $500.00.  We didn't agree to ANYTHING and hung-up on them... They called back to tell us that because of us hanging up on them that meant we agreed to the charges.  These people can hardly speak English!!!  This is the worst 4 letter word...SCAM!

Got a call from this number from a man with a heavy Indian accent.  He said he was from the Yellow Pages cancellation department and was cancelling our Ad per (then named an employee.)  He said it was being cancelled due to the new higher rate of $1400.  He then said he'd bill us for the last 2 years for $500.  I asked who signed the contract and he names someone associated with us but who was not here 2 years ago.  it told him that person did not sign our contracts and I need copies of signed contracts.  He said he would get that to me and hung up.  I told him several times we do not use the Yellow Pages.

This call comes from "Yellow Pages On Line".  They scour Yellow Pages listings and then put them in an on-line yellow pages, which might actually exist.  They will then send you a bill for this service.  The bill will be quite high.  Their logo mimics the real Yellow Pages, and I'm sure it is paid now and then by companies who aren't paying attention.

Just received SEVERAL calls in a matter of a few minutes from a man named "Victor Smith" supposedly the cancellation manager, who spoke with very broken English who was obviously from India.  Claims we enrolled in Yellow Pages in February of 2009 and they received a call from the owner requesting cancellation.  He recited our owners name and address and said they had to mail out the last invoice for $599.90 in order to cancel.  He also kept asking for my authorization to cancel and that he would have to transfer me so that I could receive my cancellation number and the customer service telephone number for our local district.  When I said I would have to ask the owner what was going on, he got a little excited and said if I didn't authorize the cancellation now, they would automatically renew our service.  Thankfully I type fast and found all these wonderful reviews.  I informed him that while we had been talking, I looked the number up on the internet and he was definately trying to scam us and I didn't appreciate it.  He kept denying it and insisting that a much larger bill would be mailed out for the renewal of our contract.  I just told him that I would be contacting the BBB and FTC and not to ever call us again.  I hung up and gave everyone in the office a note with the phone number so they could immediately hang up if we happen to receive another call.  Hopefully this scam dies down soon.
