I got the same type of message from a D.C. area code, 202 864 1106. His name was Mark Gibson, and he was with the US Treasury Department. And that if I didn't call his boss Kevin Peterson I would be in a big legal mess, since the US Treasury had already served me with a complaint. Mark Gibson had a thick Indian accent. When I asked his title, he refused to answer, told me that Treasury had already served me with a written complaint but I hadn't been home to sign it.

He called me twice yesterday and left messages. I called my local police, they told me to call my phone co. and have the number blocked.

Received 3 calls today from foreign accent claiming to be from u s treasury dept of legal affairs

I picked up the phone at 6:58 in the morning from this repeat caller from the "Dept. of Legal Affairs at the US Treasury." I couldn't really understand his whole message through his foreign accent. Some kind of legal suit against me from the department. I asked why I haven't had any written information about this and instead of answering, he gave me the name Steve Sebastian, his supervisor, to call 213-289-3848. That's a Los Angeles number. There actually is a Steven J. Sebastian that works for the Department of the Treasury, but works as the Director of Financial Management and Assurances. Fancy name for Quality Control. He is in no way with a Department of Legal Affairs.
FRAUD, SCAM call.

I received a call from a "Cliff Evans" from the Department of Legal Affairs with the U.S. Treasury from a 213 area code.  He had an asian accent..  He said that my husband needed to call "Steve Sebastain" who is "Cliff's" supervisor about an "enforcement action filed against my husband".  It sounded fishy to me.

Well they are still at it.  Someone named Russell Reid Indian accent called me from a 213 area code claiming to be from the US treasury department; the department of legal affairs.  He stated that I was in big trouble and that I would be going to federal prison within 24 hours if I did not take action.  When I asked him the name of the person I had been speaking with at the IRS he told me I would have to call his "senior officer" Steve Sebastian". I then asked him to tell me what address he had on file for me since he was calling me from the IRS; he then became very upset saying that he was just trying to help me.  the number they are calling from now is 213-289-3848.  I tried to call this number and it doesn't go through. When I tried later from my landline the number is just consistently busy.  Too bad I had a great comeback... I was going to tell him he had been reported to the attorney general and he was going to be arrested in 24 hours.  Scammers at Christmas Really!!!!!!!!  

I keep getting calls from 347-926-7026 and they guy says he is Justin Black with the Dept of Legal Affairs concerning legal action being taken against me.  He has a heavy foreign accent.  He keeps leaving messages that action will be taken against me.  I tried to call the number back just to try and find out more information but the call does not go through.

I just received 2 today...from mark gibson...347 number...I work for the attorney generals office..I plan to give them the voice mail...name and number of the scammer....

Same as others. I told him to sit and spin. Go ahead & arrest me. Haven't heard from them since & reported them to the IRS.

This man called from Phone # 347-671-0322 and the name was Mark Gibbson he said he was calling from the department of legal affairs at the us treasury and that I needed to uptain a lawyer,I hung up and I called back and told him I needed some more information and all he said was talk to your lawyer.I received a call like that about 3months ago and I did speak to my attorney and he did say it was a scam.

Received 2 voicemails from an Alex Young with the Department of Legal Affairs, from phone number 347-671-0299. He requested an immediate phone call regarding an important legal matter. Failure to return his call would result in a very messy legal battle. He had a very strong middle eastern accent. When my husband called the number back, Alex Young said we were behind on our taxes (not true, so obvious scam) and they were going to come arrest him, fine him $5000, and freeze all of his assets. He told the guy to come arrest hime then and hung up. I Googled his name and department and found this to be a scam. Sad...hope nobody actually falls for this!

I received a call from the 'Department of Legal Affairs', telephone no. 347-671-0299. The caller was a heavily accented woman and I could not understand her name. When I returned the call I spoke with another person who spoke English clearly. She had caller id and greeted me by name. She claimed her office was connected to the Department of Treasury. I asked her a few questions and indicated that I needed to Google her department. This was the end of the conversation.

Got a call from Chinese accent girl that I have to call A guy named Steve Sebastian from US treasury 3476710216 "because you're in deep trouble with your taxes" & stated I need to call right away it face the consequence.. Phoned that number & a guy named Russell Reid with Indian accent stated that i have to provide the name of my lawyer or will be put to jail. When asked if You are from us treasury then tell me how much taxes do I owe & he answered you're the one who owes money & should know it. He also said "you mean to say you didn't receive the 5530 notice?" but I insisted about the amount & he answered which is far from what I owe!! Then I told him that this is a scam & he hung up on me..Need to know where I can report this people!!

I also received a call from Alex Brown, Department of Legal Affairs with the U.S. Treasury.  He definitely had an accent.  I kept asking him what the phone call was about and he finally advised me to phone his boss, Russell Reid at 347-637-6594.  I did phone the number and "Good Heavens" Russell Reid answered and sounded very much like Alex Brown.  He asked me for my phone number, but he had also already advised me of my phone number.  As a result, I told him he already had the number because he had phoned it just before; I also told him I had to be very careful because of scams.  At that point he hung up.  

Thank goodness, I was suspicious and didn't give him any information.

Said he's from the Dept of Legal Affairs. When I asked what company, he said Department of US Treasury- Enforcement Div.
Since his call was after office hours, I figured this must be a scam.

Alexio called me and said to call back immediately and speak with his boss Ronnie Reid. I haven't returned the call because I figured it was a scam. The number was 347-418-0501

received several phone calls i finally answered he said he was calling from the department of us treasury about outstanding tax debt and that   i needed to call back and speak with russel reid his boss i called back he answered same man ( foreigner sounded Indian )  i asked for russel he said that was him . he then proceeded to  tell me i was going to be served with papers and arrested in the next 30 minutes. i asked if this was a joke .  i repeatedly asked him to supply some type of information that would verify who he was and why he was calling he was not able to give me anything . after a 6 minute go around he finally hung up . thank god i gave him nothing .

He Called me too, asking that I own $8000 in taxes and if I do not pay I will go to jail. He is the one who needs to go there. Such a scam

I got a call several times from this jerk too. these hindos think that they are smart. we should deport them all.

You want to really have some fun with this guy?  He called and said his name was Alex Young and that he wanted me to call his boss, Ronnie Reed.  When I called back, and I don't know why I did, he answered and when I asked for Ronnie, he said "This is Ronnie."  That's when I knew.  So, when he finally asked for a credit card, I started speaking in Spanish.  He started repeating, no "Spaniel", no "Spaniel."  Finally, he hung up.  So what do I do?  Really childish, I called  him on *67 with no chance that he would know my number and just kept calling to tie up his line.  Finally, he stopped answering.  Then, I waited and called him back, this time speaking in Spanish and yelling at him.  No spaniel, no spaniel.  My first scammmmmmer.

Received call regarding US Dept of Treasury. Recommended I get lawyer regarding matter that doesn't  exist. Couldn't get through first 6 return calls. Seemed like hard to hear , broken English. I assume a scam.

Got a voice mail from an Alex Young with "The Dept. of Legal Affairs" re: an "important issue". He advised I contact my attorney and call him back or else I would face a very messy legal situation. Suspect this is a scam artist trying to get personal information. Plan to ignore him.

Received a call this afternoon from this number at my place of business.  A person by the name of ALEX YOUNG stated he was calling from the Department of Legal Affairs Enforcement Division of the US Department of Treasury.  I was immediately concerned that this may in fact be a scammer, since I am an accountant and there is no such entity as the US Department of Treasury, it's named United States Treasury.  The person had an accent of some sort, and was talking relatively low...probably since there were probably other calls being placed by his cohorts beside him.  I kept asking him if he could speak a little louder so I could hear him and he kept repeating the information in the same tone.  I repeated the number several times to him incorrectly in order to have him repeat the information so I could try and make out his accent origin. He ended the call saying to have MR SO AND SO return his call ASAP.  What makes this scam maybe so successful is that these SCU%BAG$ scan Public Notices of legal actions taken against individuals.  So someone that isn't too savvy may be hoodwinked into supplying them with payment information. I am sure when I call back tomorrow to mess around with them this will surely be the case. I am contemplating calling them from another number and saying my name is Charlie Jones and I received a call from this number from my secretary for me to call ASAP.  I am sure they wont even check if a Charlie Jones was called since they are the lowest forms of human life! I'll post tomorrow.
