Got three calls from 347 418-0473.  Recorded message stating agent from the IRS asking for you or your attorney to call them back.  Wishing you good luck if you choose not to call them back on will will transpire against you.  REALLY?!  SCAM written all over it!  I finally called them back after the third message and told them I don't give ANY personal info over the phone and to STOP calling me.  Foreign accent and bad connection. Steer clear!!!

I Just received a phone call like the one described above. Also when I called back the number there was no connection. Again a woman with a heavy Indian accent claiming to be Jennifer Rodriguez From the department of legal affairs wanting myself or my lawyer to call back immediately about legal action being taken against me. Be leery about this type of phone call.

I got a voice mail message on my home phone the week of November 11th. The lady with the Indian accent who said her name was Jennifer Rodriguez said she was calling from the Department Of Legal Affairs. She asked for me ex-husband who does not live at my residence. I attempted to call the number 347-418-0548 and the call never went through, so I never talked to her and she said in voice mail it pertained to a legal matter that is pending against him and that his lawyer should contact her.

Debt Collector
"Michelle Cruz," allegedly from the "Department of Legal Affairs US Treasury," called to say that legal action will be started against my husband if he doesn't contact "David Williams" at 347-671-0323. I tried calling that number. Never got an answer. If this is a scam, I'm not sure what their angle is.

Isn't it funny how "Jennifer Rodriguez" has a heavy Indian accent?  One would think she would be Hispanic and would therefore have a Spanish accent.

They were representing the Internal Revenue Service collection department.  Saying that they are the collectors for IRS back taxes.  They threaten to issue a warrant for arrest and close all personal accounts.  The IRS needs to shut them down and arrest them all for fraud and representing the IRS.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

I got a call from (347) 418-0548 and was told to call back the same number and speak to the manager David Williams regarding a legal matter of an action that is pending against me. And when i pressed them for their address they wouldn't give it to me. When I told them it is against the law for them not to give me their address, they told me, if I didn't speak to the manager the legal action would continue forward. I told the person on the phone, i was going to call the FBI and report them, that's when they hung up.
