also recieved 2 calls one from this number, and one from 7182281154

missed both calls, and then reverse numbered them on the web. i tried calling the numbers back and the first one just rang, and the second whoever just hung up on me.

i recently put my number in a draw to win a trip at the motorcycle show at the international centre, in toronto, ON.

it was kinda shady, but i figured there wouldnt be any harm.
now i'm getting random phone calls!

Got a call from 347-448-8890 (new york) and said I had won a 8 day trip to Orlando and Mexico. As soon as I questioned why they needed my credit card they hung up on me and never called back.

They got my details from a booth at a kids fair in Vancouver Canada.

Filled a form out at a motorcycle expo.  I was suspicious instantly but the man on the phone gave me some babble about "it was a state sanctioned event so everyone is checked out first, this is legit blah blah."  I listened for a few minutes until he asked for my credit card number, googled the number while I was on the line, found this and hung up.  Thanks for all the info everyone.
I intend to call the event organizers and talk to them about who they are allowing to set up shop.

Also signed for a chance to win a trip or a 500$ Best Buy gift card at the Montreal "Salon de l'Amour et de la Séduction" a week ago. They called during the day, I didn't answer and googled the number that got me here. They called again tonight and I picked it up, told them I knew about their junk scam, and warned them that they just signed up in my ballot to win a free front teeth removal. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU AT THE NEXT SHOW! <3

Just attended the NY Food & Wine show.... same M.O.

I'm going to send a formal complaint to Reede Exhibitions, the parent company of the show.

The best way you can get back at them is to tell them to call you back later at your "home" number, which, you should actually provide them with the direct line to your local secret service office, which handles fraud cases.

The link to your local number can be found here:

http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/cfr.php ... d_offices.shtml

Best of luck to everyone!

Calling about 8 day vacation to the bahamas, starting in Florida with a Cruise, with some other optional trips to vegas and some place else.

Women wanted my credit card number for $299 payment. 75% off vacation cost they said. I passed.

Claimed to be FBC Vacations with Bahamas Celebration as the parent company. She talked very fast and very much from a script.

I was called from 347 296-0623 but according to the comments it seems the same calls are coming from

YES! Got the call from FBC vacations with all the same details people here are posting after MONTHS later attending Sun and Salsa in Calgary. The guy's name was "Bill McCoy"

Alarms bells went off when they asked for my credit card number for the 299 payment. They put the 'manager' on later, who sounded even more sketch and I just had to say no thanks, pick another winner.

Afterwards I decided to google their company and ended up with this website! Thanks for the info! Now I know it was a definite scam!

I got a call from FBC vacations after attending Lethbridge Beerfest. Saying all the same garabage, all the information eveyone else above is saying is the same. Good thing i prolonged enough to come across a bunch of wedsites like this. They were even going to let me pay 299 instead of the full amount after a lot of deliberation.

I also went to the taboo show in Vancouver and filled out the form to WIN  a trip. I received a call from this number as well as 718-228-1764
saying I had won a trip to the Bahamas, and Florida. Then said I had to pay $299 per person, $149 port fees, and airfare for 1 person ( they give 2 for 1 airfare).   I told them I wanted to think about it and do so research and call them back, but he would not give me any contact details! scam! When you "win" a trip, you should not have to pay any fees.  Now they wont stop calling me.

My boyfriend and I were at a convention this past weekend (Saturday), and we entered our names and info for a number of contests.
Today (Tuesday) he got a call saying he won a cruise for two to Florida and Nassau (8 days total, 3 in Florida, 2 on the boat, 3 in florida). The "prize" was apparently worth $2500 and included all expenses paid hotels, food, cruise, rent-a-car and a $50 casino chip for the cruise. We just had to pay $299 a person plus $149 per person in port fees, and he needed to give them one $299 payment *right then* over the phone. Unfortunately he did, and then related the story to me.
*Fortunately* about an hour later I got a call from a number I didn't recognize (347-448-8890), and instead of answering the phone I looked it up and came across this page. Sounds like the same scam.

Apparently his call was from a different number (718 area code), but I don't have the exact number right now. When I do, I'll post it here.

Got a call today, was at the salsa festival in Calgary 2 days ago, filled out a ballot at a Caribbean booth so I thought it was legit.  I listened to the girl and went all the way up to the point where my credit card was needed.  Alarm bells the whole time so I looked up their company name and asked for a website.  They gave me the website of a cruise line... so then I told them I needed to call back and if I could have a number to call.  They told me that if I hung up that it was invalid.  Now I was sure it was a scam but they put the manager on who couldn't tell me why their company of 30 years had no website or information on Google.  That's when I was done with the phone call.  Def. a scam.  FBC Vacations.

I went to the New York State Fair last week.  My girlfriend and I both signed up at the same time using different names.  She got a phone call a few days ago.  I got my phone call today.  We both turned it down.  They are now asking for a deposit of 600.00.  I hung up as soon as I heard what it was about.

Said the were calling to tell me I won a free 8 night vacation to Orlando and Bahamas. It made sense due to the fact I had just been at a wedding show and entered several vacation contests.

I had to pay 299/person + airfare to Orlando from the nearest US airport.

It's fake.

Filled out a ballot to win a free vacation, Man called saying I had won, but would have to pay $299 per person, and he needed my credit card number right away. I asked if I could get info mailed to me first, but in order to "hold" the prize, they needed that $299 right away.
