Looks like this guy has moved from purchase scams to sublease scams. I was fooled right up until he asked me to send the rent and damage deposit to him up front and he would mail me the keys.... that there was no way I could look at the place I was leasing. Of course, I'm not going to send him anything. The thing is it seemed so legit - he even mentioned the company he was working for as well as gave details about the type of place it was and asked I have a cleaner. What a waste of time.

He identified himself as Joseph Dooley.

This person contacted me, I had an ad on AKC.org, about a Boxer puppy. He posed as Alex Roland

He wanted to text or e-mail only and wanted to buy the puppy via cashiers check as well as arrange to have it picked up. I could tell by the tone and from 25 years experience as a breeder he was camming.

well I see he has moved since a month ago when he was listed as living in NY with this same phone number in previous comments.  He replied to an ad I have listed on the AKC website about puppies.  He says his name is Alex Roland 302 Longwood Drive Taylors SC 29687.  I even said to my husband earlier that either the scammers are getting smarter on how they word things or he is legit.  I was surprised that a scammer contacted me through the AKC site!

I received the same email twice, 2 weeks apart.  However, I responded and he returned my response with more information.  I'm seeing where this goes.  I have NOT given him my location or phone number, just emails.

I just received the same email about some puppies that I have listed on the AKC website.  Thanks for posting this, I thought it sounded like a scam.

Asking about a male dog (mine were all female)  The only thing I can say is that the phone number is the same.
I did not return the call.  The contact originally was through via email which was unusual considering the
dogs are advertised through a public vs. private means.

This person sends a very legit looking email inquiry about items for sale on Craigslist, after you reply with the answers she / he offers to buy item sight unseen and offers to send a cashiers check. This is the #1 scam on Craigslist. Do not reply to this persons emails.
