Now he is trying in Chicago apt. with name Daniel Honeycut.Same type of sublease apt scam. I've reported to FBI Internet Crime Complaint Cnter.

He's using Washington, DC apartments too.  But now he's going by the name Daniel Honeycut.  His writing skills were enough to raise my eyebrow, so if his English sounds terrible, it's probably a scam.

He is on the prowl in Royal Oak, MI (Detroit suburb) with a new alias of Kelvin.  Same phone number.  I started with the bank account info which was also red-flagged.  
Here is the bank info he provided and when searched, revealed other scams.  do it for yourself.

He was using the name Andreas Wolfe when we corresponded via email.

So glad I googled his number.  He was trying to rent an apartment to me in San Francisco (Dogpatch area) and was super sketchy.  Said he was a researcher and was working in NY and had to sublet his apartment.  He asked us to send him money and he would send the keys.  He then suggested we send money to his landlord in Texas.  We tried to talk to him and it sounded like he was in another country.  Beware!  Scam.

God is good, this guy found me in a dating site. and he gave me his number, so i google it, and saw all this coment about this number.Thanks for sharing.

He's trying to do the same thing in Orlando.  He is using a name of Andres Wolfe.  It was too good to be true.  Trying to rent a place that goes for 2,300 per month and is renting for $1,000, including furnish and all utilities.  found him on craiglist...

He uses the same name and phone number, asking for the first month rent and deposit and promising to mail me the keys. So lucky that I saw this post before making any transaction.

Thank you so much for posting this -- I almost rented an apartment from him in Philadelphia that he had posted on Craig's list. There were a few odd things about his response, so I google-searched his name and found this site.  The phone number he sent matches this number as well.  I will report his Craig's list posting as bogus.

This guy tried to rent me an apartment in Seattle with the same story and name "John Willey" He appears to have a scan of John's passport too, though it's clearly not him. Thanks for confirming my suspicion.

I got ripped off by this guy too.

Tried to rent an apartment in San Diego from out of state. Sent him a check for first months rent and deposit. He never sent me the keys and it turns out the apartment is occupied by someone else. Do not do business with "John Willey" or anyone with this phone number.
