Received a call from these guys 004-455-8585 saying that my computer was infected, and going to crash, but he could fix it.I told him my computer was fine without his help.  Someone else call a few days later 004-455-5858 (similar number)with the same speech;
Once I started asking questions on who he was and what company he worked for, I said I  would not give him control of my computer or any money, he hung up.
If the first guy can not hook you, you are passed on to a " so called supervisor".

Your money is probably lost, but you can protect yourself in the future.  Anybody with an Indian accent who calls you and (1)  tells you there's something wrong with your computer and that he can fix it or (2) tries to tell you that you are in some legal trouble and that it can be taken care of by sending money somewhere--well, these are total scams.  Simply hang up on them.

Nothing against Indians, but that's just the way it is.

Never give cc or debit card information or any financial or personal information over the phone to anyone.  Never send money to someone you don't know.

The Indians are behind a lot of different scams.  Beware!

I received the same e-mail as William.  I read it but then deleted it because I knew I had not gotten a cash loan from anyone.  The last line United States of Attorney was a dead giveaway.  These people should be stopped.

How do you put someone's social security number on hold? Do you cut up a box of Cpt. Crunch & make a little jail out of it? It's sad that these people can do nothing else with their lives.

I got emails from a company with this number. They have the last four of my social and claim they know what bank I use. They told me I would be prosecuted in court in a couple of days if I dont pay the $945 I owe them. They claim they are Ace Cash Service. Yet the bottom of the email say "US States of Attorney". There is no such thing. So I replied to the email telling them that I wasnt sure which contry they were from but in America, if you are going to court, you usually get something in the mail. If I owed someone money it would probably be on my credit report. The replied stating they were talking about the $500 dollar pay day loan I got. Wait a second.........how did $945 turn to $500? These "scammers" cant even get their numbers right. I told them if they want to take me to court, go ahead. In the mean time I would be reporting them to the authorities because it is probably linked to terrorism.

I got caught in this, too.  Fortunately, I did get a refund.  Amount was $628.00 for lifetime membership.  My credit union suggested I mention the Federal Trade Commission.  These type of scammers seem afraid of them more than the FBI.  I got a call from Southend at 5:30 a.m. telling me I was getting a refund.

I have been in the industry for a long time, so I know a thing or two about phishing and scam artists, so I fugured out right away what was up

Time to have some fun

So, the first call, I kept asking him which computer, they are all connected to the internet.  That went on for a while, until I finally asked him "How stupid do you think that I am"

This has graduated to "What is the name of your immediate supervisor" to "What are you wearing?" I don't care if it is male or female

When he/she finally starts cursing me out, I laugh at him and hang up the phone

I got the same call as the other person in Canada saying they were with Microsoft and they were getting an error message from my computer.  Then they asked for a person who doesn't work here, I told them that they had reached a business and that would they please stop calling. I have received calls before about the person they asked for from debt collectors.  I think it's a debt collector and they are saying they are Microsoft.

This is a debt collector posing as a pc tech. First, they verify you sill have the phone number that they have on file for you. Then, they will take your money if you are dumb enough to given them more info. I know because I use to work for them.

I just got a call from what my caller ID says was WPI, Group Inc. and they hung up as soon as I said hello. the number was 347-468-8998. From what I can tell in comments above I know it is a scam and I assume they are hoping a female will answer since they hung up on me. I get these calls at least 4 times a week and I actually am having fun messing with these guys. I pretend to do what they ask and then I freak out and tell them the virus is attacking my hard drive and it won't let me do what they say or I make up other stuff dependng on my mood. It is really fun to mess with them and tie them up for 15 or 20 minutes.
I really wish the fcc would do something about this as I do get tired of it after a while.

These people have been calling me at least once a month since April, I now know it is a scam but I would like to know how to get them from calling.  Sometime the caller ID is unknown 000-000-0000 and sometimes it is 347-468-8998 and other numbers are being used.   I just want the to stop but as of now the only think I can do is ignore the call.   Wish there was some legal action to take against these people.

I got a call from these idiots as well. My caller had an East Indian accent, I was so happy! In my worst East Indian accent I responded. He said he was from a Windows computer support company, I said (again in my worst East Indian accent) that I was so happy he called. I had ordered a new hard drive from them for my computer did they get it and send it out yet? This guy went completely quiet, of course I didn't stop, asked about his pet goat and which was his favourite Chinese restaurant....he hung up on me..:(. You gotta have fun with these idiots!!!
