I rec'd a phone call from an Indian or Pakistani man from the Windows company saying that my computer was errantly sending messages to the Windows headquarters. He was becoming quite pushy.  His name was Daniel.  It became very obvious that it was a scam when I asked him what Windows company was he with and he said "the windows" company.  Phone number on caller id read 000-000-0000. After several questions from me as to where he was located in Brooklyn, how long had he been in the states, and how did he get my phone number - he said "never mind" but I asked for the call back number.
The 347-480-1148 was the number he gave me back as a call back number.  Be Careful!

I received a phone call from someone I had great difficulty understanding.  After I asked him to repeat himself over and over, I finally got that he was with Microsoft Windows Tech Support and that my computer was vulnerable to viruses.  I told him I could not understand him and did not know who he was.  He said to call 347-480-1148 for confirmation of his connection with Microsoft.  I hung up and called the number.  This time a female answered and her accent was such that I could not understand her.  I finally hung up.  My phone rang again a few minutes later from the first guy.  I hung up.  He called back immediately and asked why I had hung up on him.  I hung up again.  From now on, I will just hang up.  Maybe they will get the message that I am not interested in whatever they have to offer.

I would call Mastercard.  If Mastercard and other entities realize this is a complete scam, they will stop processing payments.  That is one way to get back at them - if the authorities are not interested.  I personally think this could be VERY dangerous and will do my best to alert all the law enforcement agencies tomorrow.

I promise they are NOT good people!  This is a big scam to get into your computer.  When I called the girl back and told her I was going to report her to the FBI she got hysterical.  This is a BIG FRAUD!  All you did was let them get control of your computer and perhaps pay them for a program you did not need.

I have already called MicroSoft but you should also.  If this really is Teamviewer trying to sell their product, it is still fraudulent since they claim to be from MicroSoft.  I will call Teamviewer tomorrow as well as the phone company provider which also seems to be a cell phone provider that has been sued already for their part in other criminal activity.  They are very savvy and the woman has definately had formal computer training.  I am not computer savvy but can tell when someone is.

I got a call on 1/20/2012 from a girl with a strong Indian accent.  She also tried the scam of telling me I had numerous viruses that were flooding MicroSoft servers and that she was calling from MicroSoft to help me clean up my computer.  I was already suspicious but soon realized that without any action on my part, she was in my computer already clicking through various files!!!   I told her that my phone was going out and that I needed to call her back.  Amazingly she gave me her real number. She first connected me to her "supervisor" who was probably sitting by her side.  He also had difficulty with English but said his name was Robert Jackson.  He tried to steer me to the Teamviewer website to d/l their software and when I asked why MS was trying to sell another product, he hung up on me.  I did call the FBI and will try my best to pursue this.  First, Teamviewer needs to disassociate themselves if this is a sales ploy on their part.  Otherwise, the phone provider needs to help authorities stop these people.  I did call the number back and told the girl I had reported her to the FBI.  She started yelling like crazy and hung up.  I called back again and the "Robert Jackson" answered.  I told him I would try to see them both in jail!  I occurred to me that this may be a ploy being used to get control to computers to use for DNS attacks.  Probably not but I am not computer savvy.  Still, they work very hard to not have a real agenda and they are very savvy about what they are doing and the entire MS Windows system.

When I ask why I was not emailed he said that they do not have the time to send out emails to everyone so they call them instead..   What a scam.

I received a call today similar to the ones above, However, I did allow access to  my computer and charged $149 for a Windows repair toolkit, security system, e-mail, data theft protection and anti rootkit, "malware" and "phising" thru Western Union. I am very concerned about my data now. I am normally level headed but they said they were calling from Windows Control Division and had  been alerted to the danger I was in regarding undetected viruses on  my computer.
I fell for this one and hope you can find this source for all lour benefits. He did give me this number and I didn't call it in time! Do I have any recourse? Can I stop credit card payment? It was Mastercard.

Caller with Middle Eastern (likely Indian) accent claimed he was from Microsoft Tech Support and insisted my computer has a virus and is corrupt.  He could not tell me my IP address.  I am certain the caller is working for scammers.  I asked his number:  347-480-1148.   I informed him I would contact Microsoft Tech Support through the official website.  I then googled the phone number provided by the scammer and found this page.

I did not fall for scam but you should be aware of it. I got a call a man with a thick Indian accent saying he was from "Microsoft Technical Support" and they had received information from my computer that said I had two virus that would destroy my computer if I didn't do what he said. I asked for his phone number so I could call back. He refused at first and told me it was only a call-out number. He had me look at my event view to show me I had virus. I told him I am familiar with the items in the event viewer and they were NOT virus. He then told me he needed to access my computer thru a software program. I would not give him rights to that program. I said I needed to call him back and he gave me a number. 347-480-1148. I hung up and called that number and it was never picked up. I then received another call from the same company and I asked him to identify his state or location. He hung up on me. I did a google of his phone number and it shows many people are getting these calls and it is not from Microsoft. These people are getting access to your computer. See: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-347-480-1148

Same as the rest.  My guy was "John".  Claimed to be from Microsoft and my computer was sending them error messages and that they would help me fix it.  Tried to direct me to their web site to buy software.  Avoid at all costs.

Someone identifying himself as Paul from Microsoft keeps calling from this number, saying that I have a virus and wanting me to follow his instructions to fix it. Of course, I know it's completely bogus and will require a credit card number to "verify" my Windows installation. I'd love to report him and get him arrested for his attempts to steal people's credit card numbers.

Any ideas?

Just received a call from a guy who said he worked for Microsoft. He said my computer is sending them a notice that my computer has a computer virus. This guy said they need me to cut my computer on so they can fix it. I asked him when did it send it and the man could not tell me. He just told me to cut my computer on and they would fix it. I asked him for a date/time stamp on the notice and he could not answer. He just told me to cut my computer on. I asked for a supervisor and he handed the phone to a person named "Mr. Mark". I asked him for a date/time stamp from the notice and he could not give me one. He too asked me to cut my computer on so they could fix it. I asked for a phone number and he gave me 347-480-1148. I told him I would call him back. I checked the internet and found this site and noticed in Sept. 6 a ?Mark? replied and said they were good people.  However, everyone else says differently. My Computer is working fine. Guys had Indian accents and you could here other operators in the background doing the same thing.

Scammmmmm!!!!!!

I was suspicious from the start since my caller ID showed Private Caller. Most legit corporations (including Microsoft) would use a 800 toll free number. "John" said he was from Microsoft and that my computer would shut down in 2 hours. The stupid jerk actually gave me the number when I said would have to call him back (which I didn't) since I was just leaving.
