They're scammers - no one does get any money.  They'll say you have to give a "good-faith" payment up front to show that you can "afford" the loan.  Well, in the US it's illegal to pay any kind of fees upfront for a loan.

It is illegal in the United States to pay upfront for a payday loan!  So there's your huge, red, waving flag saying it's a scam!

Did you get any money? or did they take the money from your account where you put the funds into?

I also applied for pay day loans so I figured they were legit....but something seemed off about them. I didn't do anything. I wondered why they kept asking me to call them with a code number. They would call me and tell me that I was qualified for up to 5000 and that I had to hang up and call his loan manager and give him the code number that he provided. Like the old saying goes "if it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't." I am glad others spoke out. They are have Indian accents and you can hardly understand them, that was my first clue.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

ABC News released an investigative report on this scam a year ago:

Received call from this number, along with several other numbers about loan services. How do I get them to stop calling me? Do I really need to change my number? I already put myself on a do not call list. I don't know what else to do.

I believe this number and several numbers from this random lender is fraudulent.  They pose as Payday company and makes you to believe you're qualified for $5,000 loan.  They will then forward you to the Manager, will proceed with you going to a CVS, Wallgreens or Rite Aid and purchase a $250 green dot money pak as good faith, have you repeat the code in back of the money pak, then trick you into going back to get another one because of insurance and another one to pay for IRS taxes.
