Please ignore the caller! It is a scam!

they call from different numbers saying they are the dept of treasury or the IRS & that we haven't paid taxes & that we need to call back immediately.  They have been calling since February.  I've talked to them once & all the info they had was false...saying we owed back taxes...i told him he was full of crap & that maybe they should have correct info before trying to get money from people.  They basically want you to send them a $2000 prepaid card to clear up your debt & to avoid being arrested.  I laughed & told him that it was the first time the police actually warned someone that they were coming to serve a warrant.  Asking around, I've found they've called most of my husband's relatives that are from India....and i'm thinking that they're targeting people that aren't from this country & may not know that the IRS will never call you or how to check to see if it's real.

Received call.  I didn't answer. A recorded message left by a woman's voice saying that I should call them back otherwise I will be in trouble.

I just spoke with one of these guys for about 10 minutes.  Openly admitted it was a scam.  He had no fears.  Ran me through the whole operation.  Said that there is nothing law enforcement can do.  Said no way they can be tracked.  Was overly confident.  Said they used to be in Southeast Asia, but had to move operations.  I asked "do people really give you money" and he replied "you would be surprised how much we make".  Told him that Karma was eventually going to catch up to him.  He chuckled.  Crazy conversation.  

Called saying this is officer James barkler from crime investigation department. Your identity is under investigation. Discuss with head officer Mr. Wilson. there is a legal case pending and to call back to prevent arrest.

Same as everyone else...repeated calls and then threats.

I have the call control app on my phone. With enough reports, they add the number to the community black list so no one with that app gets harassed by the idiots

Thank you so much for sharing this info, I got the same message Yesterday. Now I know the best thing to do is not to respond to this kind of messages.

I got call from this no. saying officer Shannon Williams from Justice Dept. She asked me to call back otherwise I will be arresred! I knew it is  a scam so did not call her back.

Received two calls back to back from this number, left no voicemails. When I called back (from a different number) the call was answered by "Officer Wilson" who said something about law enforcement and asked for my phone number. I devlined to give it to him and asked which agency he was with. He said, "Internal Revenue Service." I told him I would contact the local office.

just got the same call from the same guy and it's a scam do not even try to call back they try to get any information about you as full name, address, and tax id # so don' give any information to any one

Got a call from this number saying that they are from Justice Department and If I dont call back they will get me arrested.  Even though I knew it's a scam call, I called back just to check. As I doubted, some sort of scamming company.  Some guy picked up the phone and identified him just as Daniel Smith.  There was no depatment of Justice greeting or even identification. I told him that I got a call from this number.  He said give me your address and I will look into it.  I then asked him to give his office address so I can report it to FBI. He said he does not give personnel information. I asked again that I need the address of the office where he is calling from.  He would not give me the address.  Since he could barely speak english and from his accent you can tell he is from south Asia.  He finally kept the phone.  It's some sort of scam. Not sure what is about.  Be careful before you give them any info and call them from a blocked number.
