I asked the building number and she gave the phone number instead (347) 535-4547. I scolded her for few minutes and she hang up on me. These guys are fraud , please careful with these guys.

My mother had received a call on her cell phone from an unknown caller saying they were from Microsoft and was told her computer wasn't responding to updates and that if she doesn't do something it will crash. So unknowingly she falls for the scam and according to her echo contract she paid $59.99 for "Monthly Technical Support". It also said it was an independent company and are not affiliated with Microsoft. She also said that they did everything so when I check to see what they did they actually deleted some apps on the laptop and have some program running and downloaded called supremo which can't even tell you what this actually is. They even left open the optimize drive app I guess running. They gave her a number to call back for any questions which I immediately did (1 800 463 2179) but of course the number wasn't even in service. I really don't know what to do in this situation and I'm afraid my mother's credit card information is still with these people and they will charge it whenever.

Got a call from "Computer Security Technical Support", which "contracts with Microsoft to resolve Windows Updates issues". Being in the industry, I knew the call was a scam, but was curious what's their deal. Long story short, lady on the phone directed me to run "msconfig", and had me sort the Services by Status. She then pointed out all the stopped services, including many from Microsoft (for non techies, this is NORMAL - not all services run at all times, and not all services need to be running, even if they are from Microsoft). The lady, who identified herself as "Sasha" and gave me a call back number of 347-674-9911, then explained that if I want to "fix all these serious problems", all I have to do is go to this website called "teamviewer.com"... this is where I started laughing quite uncontrollably, and abruptly ended the phone call. For non-techies: TeamViewer is a remote access software that allows someone to control your computer remotely.
Unfortunately, I can see how this ridiculous scam can actually work on a non-technical user. Please remember, Microsoft, or any other company, will NOT call you, unless you're paying for professional/enterprise technical support and maintenance contracts, typically for servers - read: if you're just using a computer or a laptop at home, or even a small business, ANY unsolicited tech support call is either an attempt to sell you something [you probably don't need] or a SCAM.

Also received a call from a heavily accented person (Indian). My phone registered unknown name & number. Spoke with Eric Rogers, supervisor. ID MS017. Tel #347-674-9911. The problem with my laptop, I was told, was that it wasn't receiving updates from microsoft because I wasn't shutting my laptop down at night and had two anti-virus programs. After pointing out all the clogged errors on my laptop, I was asked which of the software warranties I wanted to buy. "Microsoft will not call you about these errors." I said I did not want to buy any warranties and didn't want him to work on my computer remotely. Well, I'm off to change all my passwords.

My caller ID said "Unknown", man with heavy Indian accent said the same as above my computer isn't updating etc., he said he could fix it, etc. I told him to give me a number to call him back as I was at work, he said he couldn't then all of a sudden he could, he told me that this was a back door process. I told him he was a scammer and there are numerous complaints about them on line. I hung up. The connection is really bad. I just kept him on the line to mess with him.

Caller ID said "Unknown", she said she was from International Windows Technical Support. I could hardly understand her. She had a very strong Indian accent. Her English was terrible. She kept telling me my computer wasn't getting updates and it could harm my computer. She told me to go to my computer and find my keyboard and the windows button and the R key and hold them down together. She said it was a brown box and ask me what it said. I found it entertaining and went along with it for while as you could really tell it was a script she was reading. I put her on speaker phone for my Son who has a degree in Network Engineering and let him handle it. He did get the phone number and eventually hung up on her. Then my phone said the number was from NY. I goggled the number and found that they have been calling people for years. I knew it was a scam, but I can imagine my Mom and some of my friends not knowing that and going along with it. It is a scam MOM if they call you!!

A guy called me and he told me his name was "Henry Ford." I told him he must be very proud of this name. He also told me he could get my computer to work like new. I was soooooooo excited that I had won a new computer. I guess I kept him on the phone for about 5 minutes. He kept telling me that I needed to hit the windows key and the letter r. I told him I had an appointment and could I call him back. He gave me the number 347-535-4547 and it was a toll free number. I hope they call back; this was fun!!!!!

Received same call from "Shirley" that ID'ed as 206-701-0285 in Seattle, WA. Same script stating that my computer was not receiving updates, was going to guide me through fix via msconfig>fixme.it, said the company name was Computer Secure (she was "with Tech Support on behalf of Microsoft"). Upon questioning, gave call back no. as 347-535-4547. I reported it to Feds, as well.

I recieved a call from an unknown number. I answered it and a man with a thick Indian accent told me he was a microsoft tech and he was calling due to my computer failing to get updates. I was a little confused so me not trying to rude, just told him that I didn't have time to talk to him and I had to go. He told me it would only take 15 minutes, so I decided to stay on the line. Then it kept getting weirder and weirder. I finally told this dude that I think it's funny after having my computer for SEVEN years, I've NEVER had a call from Microsoft. He then began to stutter. And told me he would transfer me to the "supervisor". His name was Eric Rogers and gave me the 347-535-4547 number to vertify. He started off nice and I kept questioning him, telling him I was sure this was a scam and if he was the real deal to send a tech to come help me. He said he couldn't because he was in Australia. Okay, that's when I was like, no this guy a phony. So I started asking, " So why in the hell is a guy from Australia calling me about my computer in the United States?" He then just laughed and kept telling me I had to fix my computer or it was going to crash. I told him I was done with the stupid phone call and for him to not call anymore, if my computer was really going to crash, I'd just contact the real Microsoft or even Best Buy. He then daid they would not be able to help me, only he can. And I said no thanks, and that's when he got mad. He then said, "Whatever, when your computer crashes don't call me crying, b****." That's when I hung up. He then called back again, and I answered just too tell him I was going to call the cops but before I could say anything he said, "Stay away from your computer, it's going to crash. Have a bad day BYEEEEEEEEE" Then I said, okay dude, I'm calling the cops. He said, "No please don't" and he hung up and never called again. Don't fall for this people, these people are psychos!!

This man called me at work and whated me to log into my personal computer. I don't know how many times I had to tell him that I was at work and not at home. I asked for his boss number. He gave it to me and told me that his name was Simon Smith and that he was out of New York City.
When I called that number all it did was ring.

Got the same call, being a novice I went onsite until it really felt uncomfortable, so I insisted on a call-back number to answer an incoming call. Immediately called my computer guru and was guided to clean up the mess that I'd fallen prey to. The two clowns I'd spoken to identified Eric Rogers as Supervisor, Computer Secure Technical Support. America, shut those clowns down! And yes, make them pay!

He also gave me the call back number of 347-535-4547 and he said his name was "Jack Andrews" with a very heavy accept!

Just received a call from a man who said my computer was not receiving Microsoft updates. He wanted me to get on my computer so he could help me" fix" it. The caller ID showed private caller. He sounded foreign but said his name was Steve Anderson, yea right. I told him I was busy but asked for a return phone number. He gave me 347-535-4547. Many red flags that spell scam to me!

Got another "blocked" call from them yesterday, from a woman with a Middle Eastern accent. I asked how she knew what was up with my computer, same questions as everyone else. The night before they ran this scam on our local news station but honestly, anyone should know enough that they wouldn't know what is going on with your computer. Last time I said "interesting you should call, my laptop is at Best Buy as we speak". She said she was from Computer Security something or other representing Windows.

I got a call from them yesterday.
They made the wrong call when they called me. :-{)
I'm our organization's IT Director and my alarms went off immediately when they said that my computer "is not connecting to Microsoft to download updates."
I asked him who his supervisor was and he gave me the name "Jeff Anderson". Then I tried to narrow it down to which computer he was referring to and he said, "It doesn't say here."
So... You can tell that my computer is not connecting to Microsoft to download updates, but you can't tell me the computer name or anything else specific about the computer?
Then I see the posts here from supposed clients and it is obvious that English is not their first language, but they have names like Adam Smith.
You F'ing morons!!! Someone said it below... If you are going to scam someone, you should at least learn their language properly!!!
Anytime someone calls you and begins to speak to you with general statements about your office equipment and can't give you specifics when you question them, then you should just hang up on them. When I say office equipment I mean everything electronic. Computers, fax machines, copiers, phones, etc... If the wrong person gets the right information, they can scam you hard and you wouldn't know it until you received the bill for the damages.

Then he hung up....Pretty pissed about this and the people that are getting taken advantage of!!!!!

An "unavailable" number called saying he was Jack Wills from Comp Secure and my computer wasn't receiving updates properly and wanted me to access a website, www.techinline.net, and he'd correct the problems. I was suspicious and told the man I didn't believe him. He tried giving me his 178"phone number" (347)535-4547 and an ID #1789. I told him this information meant nothing and hung up.

I've been getting calls for more than 2 weeks from "Private Caller". I finally answered just to see who it was, and it was a heavily accented woman claiming my computer wasn't responding to Microsoft updates. I told her to take me off her list and not to call my house again. About an hour later I get the same phone call except it's a heavily accented man this time. I ask his company name (Comp Security) and his phone number (3475354547) then told him I knew this was a scam and I was going to report him. He chuckled and said in mock defeat "ooookaaaay."

one of the four Franks called me today with the same microsoft certified, computer secure systems line of crap. I played along for a little while, letting him think he was dealing with a clueless blonde, then started pushing for a company name, how he received his certification, a supervisor I could speak to, details about what he thought was wrong with my computer and how he got my number, and a telephone number so that I could call back. He stalled and changed his story multiple times before finally giving me this number.
I wish these idiots could be shut down for good.
