This is the second time I have received this phone call. First one was an indian man asking for information. I reported it, just now I got a message on my machine. Telling me to call the 202 #

Can anyone say SCAM.... for one they will not call you from the IRS. You will get a certified letter . We are retired and on a fixed income. Our taxes are done at our local senior center by AARP. We owe nothing. They do not call you, they send letters and you can call them (not from the # on the letter,because it could be bogus) always look up the number yourself.

Just received this call today, person leaving the message was not very intelligent sounding

The Indian government doesn't do much to shut these operations down.  US government can't do anything.

This is a  total scam. Has anyone heard of a private law office inside the IRS. Not likely.  This is a clear fraudulent attempt to get your financial information. Do not give them any information. Reprt them to the IRS at the numbers given above.

By the way, when I called the number to give the man a piece of my mind, the number was disconnected and not in service. I guess the "IRS" either couldn't pay its bills or got shut down.

i got the same message today. from the same phone  numbers  347-559-0378  . they are scummers!! why police or other service can not stop them  ?

Same call as all of you. Called me this morning around 9 am and left message. I knew it was a scam. Guy spoke broken English.

I got a message in accented English from "the Internal Revenue Service" saying that "there is a petition against my name" and I should settle my debt.  Definitely a scam.  

Received phone call about tax evasion and I will be arrested . Please call this number 2027512551 before it goes to sheriff's department and  I get  arrested.

I actually told them that I work 2 blocks from the federal building and will be going in there to investigate all of this.  He said, you don't have to do that, we can settle your problem right now, I said, no, I want to pay my fair share, so I am going to federal building, IRS Division.  He hung up.  I had a great laugh on that one.

Caller left a message saying he was with the IRS and some thing to so with tax fraud and a federal lawsuit. He said not to ignore this notice and call 202-864-1255. Just a scam somehow.

Just got the same call from Melvin Patrick call back to 2028641256 to avoid arrest.  Same exact speech as above with his weird accent.

I received a message on my land line from caller-id 347 559 0378 to call back 202 754 8079 on at least five occasions.  I wish somebody can do something about these types of calls. If nothing else they should be charged for violating the do not call registry.  

I received a call from 347-559-0378 on my landline.  I answered the call.  He said he was calling from the IRS and told him that he was not.  He hung up.

Received this call, claiming their name is "Daniel Cruz", IRS, etc etc. However, I never gave them any information and just kept demanding that they provide me with all their information (ie. Employee ID, Department in the IRS, their contact number, etc).  The person just starts yelling and refuses to cooperate and eventually hanged up.

This morning May 29, 2014 at 7:47 am I received a call from the ph number 347-559-0378 with an oriental accent telling me that there were a fraud in my name because in the last 5 years I hadn't reported complete taxes, or something like that. I  barely understood because of his accent and my difficult to understand english, for my mexican mother tongue. I asked my 19 years old son, so he could tell me what they really wanted from me, and they told him the number of my suppossed case it is NL631584, they didnt explain well to my son and then hung up. I knew it was a scam but still I was a little scared, so I look up on the internet and I found  this helpful site whocallsme.com s where there are some persons writing about receiving calls from this same number and  I am thankful to the one who gave the IRS link  where they explain about the  Pervasive Telephone Scam, and there I found the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) link where I reported this call. Thank you very much for your help.

This guy called my house at exactly 7:31 AM, from ' Staten IS NY, 1-347-559-0378. He claimed to be from IRS, and started threatening my family, saying that we hadn't paid our taxes since 2008. My mom was pleading with him, because it sounded so real, but we've paid our taxes. We're loyal citizens, and have never gotten a call like this. It was horrible to hear, because he was saying he was going to arrest my mom, and take away our house, if we didn't give him $5,000. That's when we started noticing that it didn't sound real. But after he rudely ended the call saying "I'm not going to call back" , another number called us at exactly 8:14 AM that the caller ID showed up as 'Unknown name and Unknown number'. This guy, which I now assume was the same as the last, started saying how we had to go to court in less than 45 minutes, and how the police had received a phone call from the IRS, stating we were frauds. He also said he was going to send the police. I can't explain everything that happened but it sounded so real. Then after the Unknown caller ended the call, the old number which again is, 1-347-559-0378 , left a voice mail claiming he was 'Sebastian' and telling us the IRS was on our case. We live in Glendale Heights, IL so just to let you know, if you receive a phone call from this number, DO NOT FALL FOR IT. As I learned, It is a scam. He's a horrible person to do something like this, and scare loyal citizens.

Got a call today from these guys... I have been ignoring the calls and not answering, having looked up the number here before, but my wife picked up and handed me the phone. He stated that they were starting a legal proceedings against me, and that they needed the name of my attorney. I responded that did a caller ID lookup and that they weren't the IRS and this was not a legitimate call, and that the IRS had my information on file and could send me any notifications by US mail at which point.... CLICK!     Me:.. Hello? Hello?  Laugh... Wusses.

Some Indian guy named "Peter" called claiming he is a Tax Audit Officer for the IRS and he stated that there was a criminal lawsuit that had been filed against me for unpaid taxes totaling $4900.00.  I needed to resolve the case or an officer named Jay Morgan would be on the way to arrest me, as well as all account would be frozen and a lien against my car, home, etc.  
I made a few quick calls and searched the internet....  THIS IS A FRAUDULANT CLAIM and these people are a SCAM!!!!!!!!  
I have reported their phone numbers to the FTC.

Woman's voice with Asian accent.  "Hi, sorry I missed your call." beep I saved the message because it's so damned entertaining.  They have studied under from the Nigerian bankers

I have received multiple voice mails from this number threatening legal action re tax evasion.  Below is an automatic voice to text translation of the message.  Never call the number provided here.

Rima,   this particular colony of foul smelling, woolly headed little Jamaican beasts is one of the oldest (i.e. longest running) still in operation.  What you might be surprised to learn is that over 30,000 calls are placed DAILY from Jamaica to the United States for the purpose of trying to swindle/extort money. In most cases, these foul smelling creatures have only your phone number and will try to extract additional information from you using the ruse of trying to verify your correct name/address so they can deliver the supposed "prize package."

More than a year ago, I was first contacted by these filthy, little animals, when I received a call from something calling itself "John Baker." In any event, this "John" was calling to tell me I had won 2.5 million dollars from "Mega Millions" in Las Vegas. It instructed me to get a Green Dot Money card from CVS, load it with $499.25 to pay for my "registration fees." A few days after this call, I was shocked to see this particular scam featured on ABC World News. During that segment, they played the audio of a conversation between an elderly woman - who had already sent them $85,000 - and one of these black stained rodents.

It appears these roaches have begun using much more aggressive, threatening tactics (eg. "If you hang up - your husband will be arrested.") There have been numerous reports (both here and on our local media,) of intended victims being contacted by bogus IRS agents. There have also been a few reports that this crew is specifically targeting spouses of our deployed servicemen.

Spread the word, these vile creatures need to be stopped. Permanently.

Received a threatening call on my landline from this number telling my wife IRS will show up in 45 min. arresting me and putting my kids in custody.  

Called and asked for my wife by her maiden name.  Had thick middle-eastern or Indian accent.  I asked who it was several times.  He just kept asking to speak with my wife.  He finally said "the Intenal Revenue Service".  I thought about it and went to get my wife.  He hung up before she could speak.  I could not return the call - "call could not go through".  Sounds like a phishing scam.

I just got this call and a woman named Sebastian leaves a message saying that she is from the IRS and they have received a petition to do some advance screening and that I should call back to avoid being arrested by a sheriff. sounds like a scam
