I just got that same text about the Best Buy Gift Card

I got this message in a text. Scam! I didn't click on the link. I wouldn't dare!

Same story different text. +1 (347) 559-1763 called, telling me that I that I won a 1,000 dollar Best Buy gift card.

my son just got a call from this number but we requested info from a school - told them to take us off the list.  He gets a lot of call for school dont know if they are scammer but maybe they are because they will prebably want a fee to apply.

Seems like everytime I post my resume on job sites I get pestered with "aggressive marketing calls" and "email blasts" even though I try and make private. I receive emails from employment brokers. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out where these annoying contacts are coming from. Quite of few of the calls I get are from educational or insurance related. Looks like I will be back tracking once again with my job search by taking stuff off the Internet once again. Also, did you know that it is possible when one gives to one charity your contact information is possibly shared with a huge database. Giving cash helps but a lot of times they type your information up and share anyway. My point is there are so many things we need to do to get back to simpler ways of life. I suggest to take as much off the Internet as possible and refrain from getting store cards (credit or membership). There are so many other things ie paper bank statements. Hope this information helps.

They have been calling for the last two weeks. I am on the do not call list. Sick of these calls!

I just received a call from this number. They didn't leave a voice mail (imagine that!).  I suspect, like totally annoyed, that my phone number was culled from my resume posted at Career Builder or Monster.  I get sooo many calls and email spam from "educational" institutions, it drives me nuts.   And my phone is also on the Do Not Call list. OY!!

Received two calls in two days from this number.  It was labeled New York, NY on caller ID.  First time I didn't answer, they didn't leave a message.  Second time, they hung up on me, so I called the number back.  I got their voicemail that said they were calling me to find out if I was still "interested in furthering my education with the institution of my choice".  My husband and I both have bachelors degrees and would never be interested in one of those online or TV advertised schools.  I don't even know how we would get on such a list.
Since it gave an option, I left a message with my phone number, politely telling them that I am on a no call list, I did not request any such information, and asking that they not call again.
We'll see if that works.  HA!
As far as I'm concerned, the current laws regarding "No Call Lists" have so many loopholes that they are COMPLETELY useless.  Frustrating.

I got a call from this for 2 days straight.  The first day i didnt bother answering because I don't technically answer numbers i'm not familiar with.  Today this number called my cell again and i decided to answer.  Nobody talked.  No voicemails.  So I sent a text to this number.... no replies.

have gotten 8-10 calls from different #s in last several days including this one. I answered one of the repeat calls.... lady said she was from South University (never heard of it even tho' lady said they'd been around since 1899) in Fla and that they'd gotten my # from an online request for info. However, when I checked her #, it was a Phoenix based area code. In checking these other #s, they appear to be online school related and my guess is there is some kind of scammish type thing going on due to high unemployment and this is similar to the car warranty scam calls that were going on 6-12 mths ago.
