I have the same guy trying to scam me right now.

Unbelievable, this scammer went through some serious pains to try and get me. First off wanting to pay through paypal, then claiming to be Kyle Ruckman and living at 22377 Holly Oak Lane Lewes Delaware( a house which is currently under short-sale) Who buys a car without looking at it?!

I too just got a call from this number, about my truck for sale on Craigslist, I live in Tenn. asking same questions, he call me at 4 in the morning. glad I read your postings. will block this number.

Should this happen to you again, be it Craigslist, Kijiji, or car magazine, just put "Local only, Cash only, No text, In person". Get's rid of 99.9% of the crap. If someone text's you for your car, & they mention Paypal - tell them to scram!

My fiance just got one too. Same deal...interested in the car (though he kept calling it an "item"), said he was okay with the asking price but had to use PayPal. Ridiculous. We seriously just want to sell the car, not have to deal with this crap.

When texting this Kyle, did he in any of the message told you where he lived?

Yah I just received a text from this # for a car I'm selling. Good thing I checked here first before responding. Thank goodness there are people that are speaking out on scams to try to help the next person. Thank you so much. Especially living in a military town, I probably would have believed him. I appreciate everyone that has posted.

Yup same thing happened to me. It panned out just as everyone else said. It struck me odd when He asked for my name again. Then I told him I already gave it to him, and that he wanted my last name. He said his name was Kyle Ruckman. Out of all the years of selling things off of craigslist, No one ever asks for my last name until they are physically present, and the title is being transfered. Just ignore the guy. He should be dealt with though.

He sent me a text as well asking about my car the same day i posted it on CL. Good thing I googled his phone number and found this sight. I just ended up talking hella s*** to him and told him he was a low life POS!

I Cannot believe this guy, "Kyle", he did the same thing to me, I was smart enough to recognize the scam. My local police department would do nothing, I had to contact the FBI and they most likely would do nothing i was told. With multiple accounts on this website I think it is enough.

Yes! To the person who said his full name was Kyle B something he told me this too!!! TODAY IN FACT. Responded to my car AD on Craigslist and wanted to send me money through my PayPal account, I immediately called my local police department, and they came to my house, said they could do nothing and it was FBI business. Very disappointed that nothing came of this, THE SAME PERSON WITH THE SAME NUMBER IS SCAMMING PEOPLE, THIS SHOULD BE STOPPED!!

I DON'T KNOW HOW THE POLICE CAN NOT CATCH THEM.  THE PHONE NUMBER SHOULD BE REGISTER UNDER THE NAME OF SOMEBODY. THEY HAVE TO START FROM THERE.

This is a total scam...the guy is full of crap.  He's also obviously a complete idiot as he asked me for pictures and why I'm selling it -- and all of that is in the ad.  These idiots are so annoying I just wanna sell our car.

Same story - the idiot wanted to know the condition of my car on craigalist - It's all posted.
I sent a txt - "Read the ad"  ... A loony with free txting - Block them and be done.

Same deal here, Guy named Kyle wanting to buy my car through PayPal sight unseen. It's listed as a New York number however I have been dealing with a bunch of scam numbers from Detroit That are connected through Google. I believe this New York number may be the same kind of thing.  The best part is if you keep texting he will text back and you can get him mad as hell!

Aghhh!! I almost fell for it too! He said his agent is going go come and pick up the car. He wanted my full address. He gave me his name: Kyle Ruckman. Not sure if that is his real name. But NEVER associate with him!

Tried to get his buddy to come pick up my car and pay me with a personal check. Scam. I want to fight him

Got a Craigslist ad posted?  I got a text inquiring about my "item" about five minutes after posting.  I am 2500 miles away from NYC, so I smell a scam!
