I get repeated calls from this number.  They never leave a message.  How do I stop these calls????

347 582 2056- called my cell-phone and left no message, when I called it back the only message I got was "if you no longer want to be on our list and be contacted by this number please key in your phone number now....and if you do not key in your phone number we will not take you off our list and will continue to call you" So I keyed in my phone number.??!!

Yup, we're getting this number calling ecery night as well.  We did just subscribe to the Houston Chronicle so that goes along with what I'm reading here BUT if they want to verify I'm getting a newspaper, couldn't they actually speak when the phone is answered and do the verification?

This is a subscription verification service which is hired by various newspapers, etc., to verify that you are receiving whatever it is you subscribed to. In my case they aere calling about the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

We shall see if the calls stop after keying in my number, how irritating, that people can harass us all the time

Must be Dallas Morning News, as I just signed up for daily delivery....I did not answer the call though, and just googled the # to figure out who it was.  

I wonder if you others in MN and SF recently signed up for the paper in your towns?  Are teh DMN and the papers in your towns owned by the same company???

same here, i'm in the SF Bay Area and have been getting 2 calls a day, one in the morning and one at night for the last week or so, very annoying

Oh thank GOODNESS that you guys are going through the same thing. I get 2x daily calls from this # and cannot figure out who it is. Thought I was getting hounded by creditors or something!!!

Yep, same thing here!  I'm in the SF Bay Area and *very* judicious about who gets my number.  I also get a truncated voicemail message stating to press various keys if I wanted to confirm the newspaper subscription.  The newspaper goes unnamed, however.  I wonder if it isn't the phone carrier who has sold our # to a telemarketing firm...?

I keep getting calls from this number and I am concerned it is an off shore number that can cause some problems.  I did key in my number as they requested and it said my number would be removed within two business days.  Anyone have any luck with that?

I have gotten several of these calls.  Caller Id says Verification  and then when you say hello it is just dead no response.     Very annoying  if someone figures out how to stop this  it would be great.

whoever this is, calls every single night at 7:15, my caller ID says it is a new york number, I have not answered it because the number is not familiar and I live in MN.  I am going to see if I can get it blocked somehow.

I got a call from this number claiming to be from the Star Tribune (the Twin Cities newspaper) and asking if my service had been good since I signed up 3 weeks ago.  She had my address and my name, but 347 is not an area code around here so I decided to look it up.  She also had an accent that I didn't recognize (not from another country through)

I never answer the phone when this number appears any more.  But I get frequent calls because of caller i.d. - it simply says verification FR.

Have been receiving calls from this number...347-584-2056 every day for the past 4 or 5 days now. We don't answer, and they leave no message. Just got the call tonight and it's almost 9 PM. That is insane.

I have been getting calls from this same number also for several days.  I tried to call it back and am getting recording that says "thank you for calling customer service" and gives me the option to take my number off the list, but I would have to verify the number or it won't be removed.  I didn't enter my number, since I don't trust it.  I will try to take the call next time and threaten reporting them as my number is on the do not call list.

I received a call from this number at 10:42 3/19 in Michigan.  My number is on the Do Not Call list, and also unlisted, so have no idea why I got this recorded message.

Got my first call today, at 9:16 am 3/18 Guam time (7:16 pm 3/17 EST,I think). No message. I haven't signed up for any new subscriptions, so I'm curious how they got my number.

Confirmed. The Morning News called back last night and left a message saying they wanted to confirm the subscription, etc.  And as noted before, the sound quality is terrible.  They should get with my creditors -- their outgoing messages are crystal clear! :)

Just got a call from this number, and didn't answer it (of course!).  I started my subscription with the Dallas Morning News on 3/4/08, so the newspaper-related details above may be more than a coincidence.

The DMN uses some outfit called regsignup.com for their subscriptions.  You have to follow the link from dallasnews.com, you end up at a subdomain of regsignup.com.  The Minneapolis paper's "subscribe" link doesn't go to the same place, but the papers have clearly outsourced their online subscription biz.

Here's something to show the paper's "commitment" to security: when I subscribed, it went straight from "enter your credit card info" to "Your card will be billed $72.00".  WTF!  I've never had an online merchant charge *before* allowing me to confirm the charge amount.  If the Morning News weren't Dallas' Only Daily, I'd have cancelled... but I'm too far from Fort Worth for the nearest competitor, the Star-Telegram.

I just checked the credit card I used when I subscribed... it hasn't been charged.  Interesting.  That means there's a chance that the call might actually be from the DMN.  But there's no chance I'll ever answer it -- they can send me a bill in the mail.

Received call March 10, 2008 at 10:43 am PDT.  Sounded like a call I get from my cousin in Argentina--a lot of static.  No message.

I ignored incoming calls from this number for two weeks since a message was never left and it was unrecognizable.  Finally, sick of the calls, I answered it to put an end to it.  It was an older woman asking me if I was happy with my new newspaper subscription and if it started on time.  I told her all was well and I'm satisfied.  She then 'offered' to go ahead and take down my payment information (credit card info).  I told her this was already paid for and has shown up on my account.  She quickly ended the call.  BE AWARE!  THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM FROM SOMEONE OR SOMEONES WHO HAVE STOLEN PRIVATE INFORMATION.  Mine was obviously lifted from a local public event where I signed up for the local paper.

This call came in today @ 3pm, no message left. I am glad I looked it up to find all these messages with the same thing I got. I did call back and it was the message to type in our # to have it removed. I did not type in my #. Let them call me back, I will answer and see what they want. It is possible it does have something to do with a newspaper, I recently started our neighborhood paper and seeing some notes previously about the newspaper--it very well could be. Not to leave a message, hanging up or asking for a cc # like the previous messages is ridiculous. The newspapers should be aware of how they conduct their business!

Required to enter own number to be removed from their list within 2 business days.    I would crush their scrawny necks.  I thought this was illegal in the years after the DNC list?  I know we have recently resigned with the liberal shitrag Minneapolis Star Tribune, so it may be them (see: http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/3475842056).  We'll be cancelling in the morning.  CANCEL THE STAR AND SICKLE!  TELL THEM YOU DON'T LIKE THEIR MARKETING CRAP!
