i got the same call and they calimed to have contacted me a few times by email as well. The first number that called me was 202-499-1444 so I called it back and he said his name was Ryan. Then I called it back and asked what company he was and he said cashnetusa. I got a call 5 minutes later and he claimed to be from an attorney's office and his phone number came through restricted. He told me his name now was Simon Wilson and gave me a 786 -533 -3031 phone number. i reverse looked up the 202 which is in Washington and the 786 number is from Miami. First time he told me that I was going to have to go to court and I have a Lawsuit out on me and the 2nd time he told me the IRS was going to come for me. So i contacted cashnetusa.com and am waiting for a reply. I have heard a lot of people having these problems with people getting scammed and paying. This guy spoke horrible english as well.

A FEW DAYS LATER I GOT A CALL FROM A JOHNNY LEE FROM ROBERT SHAFERS LAW FIRM IN FLORIDA HE WAS THREATENING ME SAYIN THERE GONNA COME TO MY JOB AND TAKE MY KIDS AWAY FROM ME AND TAKE ME TO JAIL  AND ALL THIS OTHER STUFF I NO ITS A SCAM BUT I AM WORRIED ABOUT MY FAMILY AND BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION! WHAT SHOULD I DO

i too received a call at work from an aty Robert schaeffers office telling me I committed bank fraud because the funds were not there on the date sched for withdrawal on a payday loan I had just received. I was calling them to reschedule a date in the near future but because I didn't get read my email the day before, they called me at work and on a recorded work phone line told me this I gave my  cell # and told them to call me at home and what time to call that evening.  They didn't call until this morning and when I made it clear to not call me at work again I was told pay now or make the arr now or we will "drag you to court and call you at least 3 more times at work" I told them that this would cause me to lose my job and is in clear violation of the Fdcpa (fair debt collections practices act) he ...johnnie lee... Told men"I know, I know everything"   I asked if he was an aty and he said he was I told him that I wanted his license # be cause I was going to call the aty gen and the mass bar assoc he said I was against policy to give that info over the phone.. I called the aty gen in mas and was advised to file a complaint and was told that this was "clearly, a scam".   I am closing my bank account and filing a complaint....

Receiving numerous calls from someone with an accent stating they were calling from Robert Schaffers office and that they would arrest me if i dont give him my acct info and send him money. This is affecting my work. Please help!  Called me yesterday from 904-950-9333 and 591-573-4731 and 347-637-6467. Sorry for the language i posted earlier

The same Indian guy keeps calling me at work and my cell repeatedly! Says someone will come to my job and arrest me if i dont pay wahtever amount he says. I was stupid enough to give him my info and my son told me to call my bank right away because its a scam. Even sfter i canceled my account he continues to harrass me at work. Im calling the Atty generals office in Mass to report his a**! Ive had it

Received a call from robert shaffers offie today.  Numbrr came up as morro. Iy was 212-
601-50923. They didn't like it when I tol them it was a scam and I ws going toto be caling the attprney generals office. Amd when I asked to speak with a manager I was put on hold a guy came back on n whn I asked his response was umm.. ya. Calling me attorney gnerals office npw.hopefully they catch these guys soon. WOW!!!!!  This A-hole has been calling me and he mostly catches me at my work so I've had to take his crap....but not the last call last week...I just didn't care anymore.  I laid into "Mike Thomas" who's probably somewhere in india.  Reading all of your posts further tells me that this is  nothing but a scam.  People, please listen to me when I say, if they're already taking money from your account, CLOSE IT NOW because they will wipe your account clean and still keep coming after you.  That's what they did to me and I couldn't even pay my bills because of it.

During the last call I let him know that I knew he was a fraud, that I did my own investigation and that there were criminal charges against him in my state and all across the country, that I've reported him to my local AG as well as the AG in Florida and that I checked out that fake address and because it doesn't exist, I've reported it to the US Postmaster and now they're looking for him too.  I also informed him that any legitimate collection agency would have absolutely no problem sending paperwork but you seem to have a problem...why is that?  He was not happy with me and tried to become beligerant but I wasn't having it that day and I let him know that I'm coming after him with the law on my side and I haven't heard from him since.  I hope they catch this slimy little punk soon.  I made it clear to him that I was going to do everything in my power to bring him to justice for me and every other person that they've fraudulently taken money from and for every person that he's harrased.  By the way, when he called me he said he was from the law office of robert sheriff and that they were located in west palm springs, florida.

I think that when it gets too hot for him he just ditches one phone and gets another phone.

I received a call stating that the two men were from the Law Office of Robert Shaffer. LOL. They said I received a payday loan in the amount of $3** something dollars. He said I could settle out of court w/ a payment to him. Really? I tricked him real good and said, "How much and who do I pay?" I literally could see the big smile on his face and then said, "Siiiiiiiiikkkkkeeee!" He provided me w/ my ssn, birthdate, address, and everything when he first called. 1st mistake...I work in customer service, the customer ALWAYS verifies their information to you, for security purposes. He went on to say I had a civil court hearing in Florida (I'm in GA) and stated that I would be arrested at my job, if I'm fired it's not their fault. 2nd mistake...I submitted my ssn, date of birth, but NEVER my work information/location! I then told him that I never received a summons/subpoena to court. He told me I would receive it in 2 hours (REALLY?!) He wished me luck and hung up. I called my bank, set up identity watch, and closed my account, set up a new one (w/ a new account #). They are big scammers. I do feel foolish for putting my information out like that, I was in search of help and was scammed. Valuable lesson learned!!!

I also receive a call from a Mike Thomas from the office of Robert Sheffer. These people really need to be arrested and locked up. How did they obtain my information?

These folks are BAD  BAD news they have told me that I am going to jail and  they will take my social security disability check away for two whole years. claim I took a loan from cash advance and never paid them back, never happened. Must admit they managed to scare me, cause  I struggle every month to make ends meet. Never thought something like this would be happening to me. Just received paper work from attorney generals office and will follow thru. These folks and anyone like them need to be stopped.

I also the past few weeks keep getting a phone call from brian smith from att robert schaeffers office saying i received a payday loan from cashadvance usa back in aug he was able to provide me with my bank acct information, my date of birth and my social security number....the bank acct he gave me was correct but i have never received any pay day loan from anyone in yrs i dont know what to do after reading all these posts i called him out on it as a scam and he said that tomorrow the local authorities will be at my house with a warrant and i was to appear in court in west palm beach fl next week on the 19th when i asked him to provide me info such as dates when the money was deposited he said he didnt have to disclose that info to me....please help me is this a scam what do i do??

Received a call from a man with an Indian accent stating he was from a law firm and I had a law suit against me to call him back.  I have not and went straight to my attorney who said to not pick up the phone as they could get access through cell phone or ask for information on me and wipe out my bank account.  It is a scam.  I went through an online lendor that was not secure and I believe this is how they got my number as they also called my friend to tell her to call me and she was my reference on the online application.  I will call the attorney general too.

I just had the same phone call from johnny lee saying he was from the law office of robert shafer.  made it sound very true.  i will be reporting and closing my bank account.  I was a sucker and gave them my information.

I got a call recently from an unknown and private number. The male on the other line you can not understand him and then he states that I have criminal charges in NY. Confused??? and he states his name is David Miller and I need to call him back at 347-637-6467. I don't think I can block his number and I am thinking I got to get my number changed due to this abuse. This is crazy and I did try to call the attorney general but since I don't have much information and I don't want to call him back they can't help. The attorney general office stated to let him know that I have contacted them (attorney general so don't call back) Don't know what else to do....

I have been receiving calls from a Johnny Lee at the Law Offfices of Michale  Sinclair. Apparently, he claims there is a lawsuit against me in civil courts. Funny thing is I work near there and did some research. There is no civil court case. He is full of BS.

I just called the number 347-637-6467 back and asked what business I was dialing.  He told me in his accent Law Offices of Robert Schaffer.  I asked where they were located and he said Jacksonville, FL.  Then I asked him what his name was...he hesitated and said ...Sam Cobb.   Wow what a nice western name you picked.  I can hear people in the background and it sounds like a bunch of people locked in a room with a script.  This is so wrong and to think these people have my information is just scary.

LOL - just got the same message from Brian Smith at the Law Offices of Robert Schaffer.  Apparently, there are 3 complaints against me and my social security number and if I don't call back I will be in serious deep legal trouble.  I don't know where this is coming from but they also called my cell so I really don't think it is real.  If it was legal, I would have received some kind of document in the mail stating the complaints.  These people are relentless and need to go away.  What kind of Indian / Bangledeshy man has the name Brian Smith?   Their script is really bad too.  At least he said have a good life and good luck at the end of his message.

Just received a call on my cell phone and then at my work. the guy with a very strong middle eastern accent  left the messages Stating his name was Mike Thomas and he worked for Robert Shaffer and I was in big trouble and had a Major law suit against me. Not sure what is going on. there are no law suits against me. I don't even owe anyone money. this is crazy how did they get my information?

I just got a call from Mike Thomas, then Michael Sinclair, with the law office of Robert Clay. He said " Do you want me to arrest you?" I called an attorney and they said its a scam. I also called the police departmemt and they said no way. They have all of my information, social,date of birth, email, and work number. We need to stop them!!!!

I get these calls every few months. they even called my sister and my work.  My sister actually reported them.  I told them this time that I have no payday loans that I had a company that settled and paid off all payday loans I have which is true and they would need to send me proof of this loan,the deposit amount and day. Mike Thomas , from the law offices of Robert Shaeffer , this time told me I needed to send him proof of payment. I said that he could not even get me the information for what he is speaking of so until he did I would not. I told him they were a scam and have called before and have been reported to the FTC and the sheriff. He called again and left a voice mail with the number. I like for them to do this because then call them back after hours and leave a message about how you have reported them for harrassment and how they are violating laws.  Also tell them that in the United States they do not arrest you for not paying your bills so you know they are a scam. They just make you sick in your stomach.

I got a call to my job from the Robert shefford office  , his name Brian Smith he had Indian accent
but i did not return his call because he call my cell and I new that  was not a legal  busines person. I did a phone serch and that 347 367-6467 is not a legal numbers.
