I received from "Dept of Legal Services". saying that I owe IRS taxes from 2009 and if I don't pay they will get me arrested.  They called me third time saying that IRS has a warrant for my name and they have also reported to FBI. But keep asking them to give me some information so I know that you guys are calling the right person, instead they wanted me to tell them my Social Security number. I did not give them my SS# and please never give your social security number over the phone. If IRS is looking for you they will send you a letter first and hold your refund while filing taxes. They will never call you.
This is a scammer.  

Just got a voicemail from this scammer saying his name was Darren Brown with the dept of legal affairs, but for what company or government entity was conveniently left out with a brief silence making it sound like a cell dropout.  Total scam.

These are all scams. Probably not even in the U.S. The number could be out of New York or routed from another country.

The man said he was from the department of legal affairs and they have started legal action against me and to have my lawyer call. Don't understand this call glad I found this sight.

These are scammers acting like they are the Dept. of Treasury. Don't fall for it. First of all they would have used my legal name. They probably buy a list of people that have put their name and number on an online form looking for assistance because they may need IRS help.  They say that the Dept of Treasury has filed an action against you but he's very unclear and vague and tells you to call back and speak with the person who's handling your "case". I notice it was the same number he was calling from. I called back and the same person answers the phone "Dept of Legal Services".  I chose to not speak with him but I decided to harass him instead, calling him often and harrassing the scammer. Hahaha I think that everyone should do that.
