I started getting calls from this number yesterday and have already received about 6 calls and they are not even looking for me, they are looking for my mother. I have told them that I am not her and that they need to take my number off their file. They continued to call so I told the guy that this was a scam and I was calling the cops. He got more aggressive with me and told me that he would call me all day, everyday. I hung up on him and he called right back and I ignored the next 2 calls. Very hostile people. I think I am going to start prank calling them and annoy the s*** out of them :) The number I am getting calls from is 371-671-0302.

just got a call from this number and some man claiming to be from BCS or PCS Law Offices.  He stated, "I already leave you message today at 6:30 pm."  I asked what he was talking about since I had no messages and it is not even close to 6:30 pm.  I didn't acknowledge that I was the person for whom he was looking.   He then said, "you make sure that you call me back".  I told him that I can write down the number but can't make anyone call him back.  he answerd, "ok then. Thank you".  The whole conversation made no sense, but at least this guy was polite and didn't threaten me.

I keep getting these calls from different numbers so I can't block them.  I don't owe them money, and I don't do legal business on the phone!

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters have instructed victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain amount, on a specific date, via a pre-paid Visa card. The statement further declares the victim will never dispute the debt.

If you receive these calls, do not follow the caller?s instructions. Rather, you should:

?Notify your banking institutions.
?Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
?Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
?File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.
Tips to avoid becoming a victim of this scam:

?Never give your Social Security number?or personal information of any kind?over the telephone or online unless you initiate the contact.
?Be suspicious of any e-mail with urgent requests for personal financial information. The e-mail may include upsetting or exciting but false statements to get you to react immediately.
?Avoid filling out forms in e-mail messages that request personal information.
?Ensure that your browser is up-to-date and security patches have been applied.
?Check your bank, credit, and debit card statements regularly to make sure that there are no unauthorized transactions. If anything looks suspicious, contact your bank and all card issuers.
?When you contact companies, use numbers provided on the back of cards or statements

This punk keeps calling me back and saying that he knows it's me and I told him that he has the wrong #, he wanted my name then and I wouldn't give it to him. I don't know who he wanted but he had her SSN evidently.  I couldn't understand the son of a bi*** and he kept calling.  the # that showed up was all zeros.  Is there anything we can do?  It's the same # and he said his name was John Anderson... yeah, with a heavy indian accent that I could barely understand him.  How can they continue to do this?  I just want to explode!  I'm gong thru a lot of s*** in my life right now and I don't need this iranian punk effing with me.

I received voice mail call today from 347-671-0356 stating that I had made a payday loan from Cash Advance and they wanted to know how I was going to pay the bill.  I told them I didn't know what they were talking about and that I've never made a payday loan.  I said I have not received any information on someone suing me.  They said I made the loan via the internet.  I again said I didn't make a loan in person or via the internet.  I told them they could send the information to my home address since I haven't received any paperwork.  They wouldn't tell me what home address they had for me.  I then asked them if this was a SCAM.  The person got real quiet and said he'd have to check it out and then hung up on me

He called Friday at my work at the hospital and I told them they can't call me there I would get fired. He was very rude so I hung up and he called back several times letting it ring 29 times,, I picked it up again and told him it was against the federal credit act to bother me at work when I tell him not to and hung up. He called back several times letting it ring a lot and a supervisor picked it up and said we're letting HR deal with you , he still called back.
