Caller from this number had a strong Indian accent and claimed to be calling about debt and said it was Federal and had to do with a claim related to my social security number. when pressed attempted to tell me i had to call him back on the above number. He called from 347-903-9148

My daughter just received a phone call from #3479038146 asking for me by name and stating that it was very important that I call back. The message told me to call Mike Anderson at Tel#347-687-6386. When I called back, I spoke with Mike Anderson who told me that I was being sued in court for three charges of mail fraud. I told him I did not know what he was talking about. I told him that about a month or so ago, there was $500 deposited directly in my checking account. However, I never requested this money, called the company and was told that the money would be redeposited into my account the next morning. Mike Anderson stated something about them trying to redebit my account but they weren't able to. Mike stated that he didn't care that the money was credited back. He said that I committed on line fraud and could spend up to three months in jail. I again told him that I did not know what he was talking about. I never did anything illegal. When I pressured him, he hung up stating that "he would see me in court."  (BTW, he had an INdian Accent.) He has scared the 'daylight' out of me!

thank you for posting this .i just got a call from JUSTIN TAYLOR with an indian accent claiming that is very important that i speak with him. i have beeen a victim of these people before and i had to call the police.

Thank you I did report it to them and I did call the Bronx Sheriff's office and they are said they would never do it and that of course as we know this is a scam. How did they know it was me? I only used my first name.

You Indian freaks will be found, trust me it's only a matter of time. Don't think you are safe in your boiler rooms you wimps.

Click on the exclamation point next to the reply box and tell the admin. He'll remove it. The frauds who called you are from India. They aren't the Bronx Sheriff's Department and a Sheriff's Department would never put your information on a forum. I would suggest you get your Social Security number changed, and your bank account closed and file a complain with the cops. File a complain at the FTC and FCC. www.ftc.gov and www.fcc.gov.

How can you put my information on this site.  Delete it. Who is this if you need to contact you have my number if this is really the Bronx Sherrif's department.

I also received a call from this Aaron Carter (yes an indian mother gave him this name).  I couldn't understand him but he was saying there was legal case against my SS#.  I told him I would call him back but to give me the information about the "money I owe". He told me just call me back and I will tell you then so I hung up on him.  He then called my cell number and left a rude voicemail.  How do we get rid of these people?  They are calling my family and friends.  My name is out there and this will never go away unless the government regulates people giving out our information.  Especially the pay day loan people.  I have not had a pay day loan in 3 years and I am still getting calls.  Almost every call I get I report to the FTC but nothing happens.

I got a phone call from this number but didn't answer it I gave them the opportunity to leave me a messege instead just for fun and  unlike the Indian accent you guys are experiencing mine has a very strong Chinese Accent ...and to make it seem more believable he claimed his name is AAron Carter and to which I can barely understand what he was saying all i can make out of it was at the end of his script that he is reading to which he said and god bress you..not a typo ..he did say god bress you .
Anyways if any of you get something fishy like this phone call it is your legal right to ask Their Company name ,Address and the name of the person you are speaking to. Tell them you are not going to give out any info unless you have proven without a doubt that they are a recognized company operating in the USA and a verbal cease and decease over the phone would be the end of your phone call at that time until you have verified everything. and if they insist that they will call again then you know for a fact that this is an unprofessional move on their part  ...it is a scam and and you can forward the number to the BBB

I received a call this afternoon from a man with an accent.  He ask me if this is Cj, I said yes.  He stated that my social security number .... I said, what, who is this calling, than he said it was regarding transunion.  I hung up.  

I received several more calls.  Where is he getting my information?

The same thing happened to me! Only he added in the fact that I would be arrested at my place of work if I didn't pay the amount owed. I told him that I had proof that everything was paid then never heard from him again!

We just received a similiar call claiming he represented Federal Legislative Legal Unit.  He also had a Indian accent.  Claiming he needed information from me or my attorney.  We didn't provide any ande took his information and then hungup.  Last week we received a call from an gentlemen with a deep Indian accent claiming I needed to call him or have me lawyer call him otherwise "I wouild be sorry".  I ran the telephone number and it  is a payphony located in Seattle Washington.  The two actions maybe linked.

I just recieve a call and was wondering if I could file charges if they call my work and harrass me? The man said I need to call Je Brown and I have all my debts consolidated and know I do not have others.
What can i do to get them to stop.

Thank you for posting that because I received the same call a few minutes ago. I have received them in the past as well. From my understanding this is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They make calls using VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it look as if the calls are originating from within the U.S. They harvest and buy consumers personal identifying info from unscrupulous websites like the ones where people take pay day loans from.

I received a call from a man with an indian accent, claiming to be from a debt collection agency and wanting to speak with my attorney or they would press charges for not paying back on loans.  This is a scam because I just recently paid off all my outstanding loans and bills.  I have received countless calls like this over the past few months, it is not for real.
