I've been called by this number twice now in as many days. Tonight they left a message asking for a specific male name, no one I've ever heard of, and asked him to call an 888 number. My voicemail greeting specifically says my (female) first name. Yeah, I'll be sure and have Timothy get right on that, if I ever meet him. Jeez.

These people are liars. They are calling themselves Edgewater Financial (supposedly from New York). They call multiple times in a day, calling for a person that does not live here. Seems like they used to call themselves Pioneer credit previously

I have received at least three calls now to my home phone asking for my husband and giving me his specific name.  The problem is, I am NOT married and I have never heard of that person before and yet each time I tell them that, they say that they are going to make sure that no one from their office calls me again, but they still call.  This is ridiculous!  They didn't say their name or company either.

I received a fishing call on my cell phone from someone whom, "was completing a business transaction for you and need you to verify your birthdate and/or last 4 of your SSN before I can identify myself." I laughed and told him that I would not give any such information until he identified himself. Ignoring the response he then asked, "Is your birthdate August (something) 1989?" To which I replied, you have the entirely wrong phone number. The number is a New York (Brroklyn, Ridgewood area) landline.

They called and immediately asked me to confirm my Date of Birth! I got freaked out and yelled Add this number to your do not call list. NEVER EVER confirm or give your date of birth to anyone.  Except when needed like for a job, to open a bank account, etc.

Are they allowed to call your work? they've called like 4 times? in a week?

Just calling and not leaving messages. I do have student loans but I am paying them on the schedule my loan company and I have worked out. They have no reason to call me. I would appreciate them stopping. This is quite unsettling since it is my cell phone and not my home phone.

Whoever it is they are dishonest. Any company with honest business to do identifies themselves at the beginning of the call before demanding identification of the person being called.

This is a scam. I called the number back and it went to the voicemail of somebody official sounding who asked that I leave my name, phone number and social security number LOLOL

These people say hello when  I pick up, but then hang up on me and don't answer. They call early in the morning. If they are a collection agency, what's the point in hanging up on everyone?

I got a phone call from this number asking me for personal information, I knew it is was a scam call for the way they tried to get informations from me. I reported it to my local police department, to the phone company and my son, a  police officer, help me to find out their physical address so that way I will be able to fill out a legal complaint.

Pioneer Collection, Bronx, NY  Unethical and persistent. Got my cell phone number.

The other day at about 8:15 AM I picked up on the second ring and just listened, but there was only silence—nobody tried to prompt me to speak or anything. Today at about 8:30 I picked up on the second ring and said, "Hello," but if I hear dead air on the other end I hang up after a second or two without repeating my greeting, which is what happened today. We do not have caller ID; I dialed *69 to have the phone company tell me the last number to call my line.

Don't know how they got my cell# since only close friends have it.

And I don't owe anybody any money. Clean credit report.

This "Pioneer" company will NOT stop calling me.  They asked me to verify personal information, I explained that I DO NOT give that information over the phone.  They continued to insit on getting my social, and birthdate.  When I wasn't willing to do so they said that they need my job information so that they can deduct 15% of my income a month to pay back student loans!  They also LIED and said that they were the U.S. Department of Education.  They are quite scandalous!  It's not only annoying.  It's harrassment!
