Jay Wilson calling about my resume on Monster.com as well
k 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
Was given this number to call a reference for Insurance Marketing Services. They claim that they have customers waiting for annuity business. I swear that the guy I supposedly talked to, Dave Brown, sounded like the person trying to sell me the leads.

The jerk that called me was "Jordan Willis". Little SOB. He wanted to know if I wanted to make more than $150k. I asked, "for what" that's when he told me he was a recruiter in NY for a company called Act- although I can't find out anything about it on the web.
When I told him no, he said he can't help me and hung up. I called him back left him a pissed off vmail - and then called again and got him. I asked if he was Mike Davis, or Jason White or Jordan Willis. He said these were all people who used the same line as him in their office.
Avoid these guys like the plague - they may have a recruting firm and get paid based on first year salary of their placements - but I can't imagine any professional working with them. Talk about being treated like a number.

same BS listed by the others. This one from Jordan Willis. Must be a new name to use. Told them I do not pay for a job and he just hung up.

Got the save call this morning from a fellow named "Jordan Willis" at (347)694-4719 . . . He asked for my phone number so that he could look up my resume.
Having read these postings, I was short with him, interrupted his small talk and asked whether he was with a "fee for service recruiting firm." He framed it as a "high-end Executive Search firm."
Told him I had no interest . . . .He hung up immediately.

Yeah, I just received a message from Jay Wilson leaving this number as a call back. The message board was useful in determining whether this is legit or not. In this case it is good to know they are a third party versus a hiring firm or a recruiter on retainer.

Got a call from this number 3476944719, just left a "hello" on the answering machine nothing more. After reading this post I too realized that a jay wilson had called a few weeks ago after having posted a resume on monster.

Jay Wilson calling again. Same pitch, saw me on Monster, called back and got a female voice machine. Same person, same pitch, same tricks.....same reponse from me...bit bucket
Ken 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
Just got a call from "Jay Wilson" after updating materials on monster.com. Thanks to the helpful information above, I won't waste my time.
Just so you know.... 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
"Jay", "Jake", "Jason" and "Mike" are all the same person, calling you from Executive Club, a fee based search firm.
Pete 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
Received a call from Jay Wilson; same left a VM to call him back having posted a resume on Monster.com. Called back and Jay advised that he was part of an Executive Search company specializing in jobs over $200K. He asked if I had ever hired someone to look for a job for me. When I said "no, I never needed one", he seemed shocked that I would turn him down. Call was terminated. I have contacted Monster.com to report the "trolling for clients" based on their [monster's] databases. Maybe they will shut off the access.

Jason White, called me as well this morning. He needed to know if I had made over $150,000.00 per year, I had not, so he did not pitch me in any way. If these head hunters had agrement with the companies that they used I would be fine with it but a 5 K fee.

I believe that Mike Davis, Jason White, and Jake Wilson are all the same guy. I spoke with them months ago and they eventually hung up on me. High pressure and rude. Jason and Jake both called yesterday (sounding uncannily alike) after I updated my resume on Monster. I have not used their services, but would be highly skeptical
Mike 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
I have been called numerous times by these low end clowns- both Mike Davis and Jason White. They (like many others) join Monster or CareerBuilder and use the database to find job seekers. Any time you update your resume, you will receive another call because they apparently don't keep a list of numbers/ individuals they have contacted in the past with the results.
I am on Do Not Call Registry and told them that. They immediately hung up. I turned their number into the Do Not Call violators website with 3 dates they called me in the last 45 days.
Just because they pay for access to Monster does not give them an ok to call you if you are registered with Do Not Call- or, after a call, if you tell them not to call you again. They seem to be under the impression it gives them a hunting license- it doesn't. They can be fined $11,000 per occurance.

Got this same call today about my resume that I updated yesterday on monster.com. Got 3 calls the first time I posted it as well. Also got calls from same number from other people as well. Voice sounded the same however just different name. Did a little research and found this message board! :-)
Fred 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
I also got this call one day after posting my resule on Monster. I did not call back, nor will I.
Jay 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
Two rings from 347-694-4719 and no voice mail was left. My guess is their automated calling system barfed but the call occurred roughly 8 hours after making an edit to my profile on Monster.com -- gotta be the same racket.

"Mike Davis" said he was calling from this number, having seen my resume on Monster.com.
Lee 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
Jason White calling about my resume on monster.com. I called it back and received a message with a female voice.
Tomme Stevenson 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
Mike Davis works for Executive Option Inc in New York City. They are a for fee executive placement firm. Their fee is $5,000 and they clain they place 85% of the clients in 2 - 3 months in positions that pay $200,000 and up. (it might be Howard Nestlerrs organization...not sure)
I have not personally talked with them but that's the pitch

Got a call from "Jason White," regarding my resume on monster.com. No other information given.
Jim Logan 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
Thanks guys. The same thing happened to me after posting on Monster. Now I know what it is.
Fred Perkins 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
Mike Davis, same source. No number on my caller ID, so they must have blocked it. I too got a female voice on the voicemail, but didn't leave a message.
Gregg 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
I got the same call today....... didn't call it back because he left no identifying company information. Thought I'd google it first and that's how I found this site..... Thanks for the tip! I won't be calling him back.
David Evans 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
He is still calling - have not called back, but the terseness may be the Irish in him!
Frank 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
I received a call from Jay Wilson, he reviewed my C/V on Monster. The number he left was 347.694.4719
Mike 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
I recieved a call with the same MO as the comments above. I did a google search and there is an Executive Options company out of NY and another different company out of Chicago. Both web sites list different area codes/phone numbers under their contact information. The NY Executive Options doesn't provide a single name or adddress (suspicious) whereas the Chicago site does (probably legit and unrelated to these calls). Jay/Jason's 213 number returns to a T-Mobile cell out of LA. The 347 number returns to a NYC land line.
I called the 347 number and had a fairly pleasant, low-pressure conversation with Jason. The phone rang a number of times and rolled over, probably to the 213 number. He was not familar with me becasue I called from a different number than the number he called me on. He asked for the phone number he called so he could "look up my resume".
The company is called "Executive Club". They claim an 85-95% placement rate within several months for a fee < $5k. Jason will forward my contact info to one of the "senior partners" and they'll call me back. We'll see what happens next... If anything suspicious/inappropriate transpires, I'll post a follow-up.
Mike 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
Followup: I have no regrets in calling them back. They were polite, professional, and worth talking to. I am not engaging them at this time and they put no pressure on me to do so.

voice mail message from "Jason White" who saw my resume on monster.com
Mike Jones 2011-06-06 20:46:39 Unknown
Yeah, this Mike Davis character gave me the pitch as well. I've heard it before. I said to send me the link, think about it etc, to get him off the phone. Should not have been so nice. He hung up on me. He's simply dialing for dollars and in my opinion, full of you know what.
