Who is using this number?

I don't know what this person is doing but he wanted to buy some furniture and sent me a long letter about his wife being sick and his secretary will come and bring me a check and wanted my address. Sounded really dum so I looked up the phone number.  I should have looked up his number sooner.  Unfortunately I gave him my phone number,  I hope I don't get calls at 2 al.m. like the other guy.  His claims his name is Victor Herrera.

I've gotten the same email. The number is probably a Skype number, which is why it's not traceable. This is some Nigerian f*** who's running a check scam. Here's how it works: he'll send you a (forged) check, which you will try to cash. There is a 90% chance that your efforts to cash it (should you choose to try) will fail. You may even wind up in jail for trying to pass a fake check. If you succeed, he'll give you the runaround about how you have to send him the money by Western Union or something. THE GOOD NEWS is that it's pretty easy to give HIM the runaround, if you would like to have some fun! Be creative. Make this guy pay.

How are you doing and how is family hope you enjoying with happiness, please i want you to exercise patient with me ? cos i will not be able to come for inspection  for now and will be  back in state by 2 weeks but i would like you to give me perfect present condition of it in full without any exception .also  got this message today that i will be staying longer than my estimated time out of state due to some work i need to accomplished out the state , for this i will not be able to come for inspection and negotiate with you  for now but will  be back in state soon which i cant figure the exact time to finish what am doing here . Am out of state on a conference meeting,please allow me to ask my secretary to come around for  inspection  for me ,i will arrange for the pick up myself . I need to  this to  asap before my wife deliver to hospital to i can fix it in the house before she come back home ,probably i might not be back in time to test myself .so i want to make sure i have everything down before she deliver .Kindly give me the name ,physical address  and phone number so i can have secretary to  issue out the check in your name .so you can  get in touch with me also through this email .

I got similar emails for two separate ads but with two different names. I smelled a rat right away, because both emails had the same text in it. "Hello ,i hope you still have the item advertised available??????????????? 347-748-1250"

So, I called the number and a guy picks up. The voice quality of the call seemed like it was VOIP like Vonage or MagicJack and I could barely understand his foreign accent. He did mention that he is in a conference right now and I should send him my contact info and his secretary will get in touch with me. ITS A SCAM!! Don't fall for it.

You bet it's a scam.  I thought I would have some fun with the guy ("Ryan Rogers) and told him that my name was Joe Biden and that I lived in Washington DC.  I gave him the White House address and phone number.  I received the following e-mail:

promised, in which i will not like by any chance you  sell to another
buyer, please make sure you don't do that.In fact my secretary had to
mailed out the  check included the shipment fees because had to see a
client who just arrived to state from China. So need to embark to meet
the client for an important business issues that's why, he need to
mail out the payment Via Fed ex.You will have to  deduct your payment
from the check  and send the rest to my shipper asap via western union
around you , immediately you have the check deliver to you, either at
your front door or poach due to the fact that its take 2 to 3 days for
shipper to  come around for pick up once they receive payment through
Western Union .  I want you to contact Napa shipping through the below
email contact as you you have the money sent because i have already
contacted them as soon i got to know he had included the shipping cost
to the check he issued to you for the payment of the furniture ,I will
like you to contact them by email once you have the money sent to the
shipping by giving them the transfer information as the receipt of the
shipment .Kindly let this be a sealed transaction this way, i ill urge
you to contact Napa private shipping company by email at
napaship@post.com .  I will be waiting to read from you as soon you
have your check deliver tomorrow

Got the same call from 347-748-1250 wanting to buy a dinning room table and chairs.  Didn't make sence.  I'm in So. Cal and this is a New York number.  Hey - if someone wants to come out all the way from NY to So. Cal to by my furniture, more power to them.

Bottom line, it's got to be a scam.

I recceived an email for this person "William Hoffman" lookin to buy a bedroom set I'm selling for his wife but he's "out of town" and wanted me to give my address so his "secretary" could come look at it...I think its a scam
