didn't pick up their call

It's deja vu all over again.  I know the feeling.  The guy who phoned me twice today claimed to be from Inside ERP (enterprise resource planning, whatever that is).  He requested two IT managers, one of whom is here and another who is located elsewhere.  On each occasion, he alleged to have been referred by a third manager, who happens to work at the latter site.  Obviously, Mr. Accent didn't think his scheme through.  If Manager 3 said to contact Manager 2, wouldn't he have clarified that they're in the same office?  Why call for Manager 2 here?  Anyway, he quibbled so much, because I wouldn't give him the information he wanted, that I hung up on him both times.  I have more important things to do.

Called three more times today. I finally told the receptionist to put these calls through to me because I like leaving them in "hold" limbo!  Have called repeatedly over the past 6 mos. asking for our former IT manager, and each time, caller is told HE IS NO LONGER WITH THE COMPANY. Then they want the name of or ask for the current IT manager. Yeah, buddy, I'll transfer you right to him! I know he has nothing better to do than listen to your spiel. Now these idiots are sent to a generic voice mail box or just left on hold idefinitely.

Thank god for caller ID!  Now, anytime I see a number with an area code I don't recognize, I don't pick up.  90% of the time these parasites won't bother to leave a message.  Those that do I report to the FCC.  Not sure what good it does, but it makes me feel better.

Called and no one on line-just a fax-like beeping. Put them on hold, and they stayed there for over 5 minutes until they hung up! Idiots!

Got another one today. This time, " Kevin from Consumer Business Products". I quickly did a Google search for "the IT Manager" which is what he was asking for, and gave him the first number I found. Good luck, "Keevin"!

Another Indian wanting to share another white paper! I hate these calls. If you agree to the white paper, you never receive one. They are now trying a new technique where they are using a number which looks like a local number but is actually a, "+1 XXXX". ...................................STOP OUTSOURCING AMERICA! I AM NEVER GOING TO BE INTERESTED IN ANYTHING YOU ARE HAVING OVERSEA'S TELEMARKETERS CALLING ME ABOUT!

Called back-again.  Asked for the same former IT manager-again. Told caller person in question was no longer with the company-again. Asked for the current IT manager-again. Hung up on him-AGAIN!!!! And will continue to do so until they get the message (doubtful)

Called and asked for former IT manager by name. When I told caller he was no longer with the company, he wanted the name of the current IT manager.  I asked who was calling, and I believe he said: "Ben Johnson from View IT News" (Seriously?!?! With an Indian accent, yet!).  I said: "No, thank you. We are not interested" and hung up. "Ben Johnson" !!! LOL.....    

These people called asking for our IT person - preemptively asked to be taken off their call list because of all the posts here. We will see if they do...

called, ID'ing themselves as a caller from VOIP News (maybe it was VOIP times).
It was actually forwarded to my emergency call number, which means the human at the other end had hit my "Press 2 if this is an emergency"  

Somehow a subscription to a magazine is not an emergency in my book, especially when I am in a meeting.

Just received a call from this number, 347-809-6831... heavy foreign accent, said he was from California Software Labs!
I have heard from him before and he is usually calling from "HP".
This time, he's trying to get to our VPs.

They've call four times today and several times yesterday - persistent little buggers. If I don't recognize a number, I don't pick up (I get lots of vendor calls). If it's someone legitimate they will leave a message. These people never do. They'll never get me.

The caller asked for the IT head, said he was from HP. Didn't quite believe him.

Called around Noon and I did not answer. No voicemail was left. Tried calling back right away and "You have reached a non-working number. Announcent 14.." Probably scammers...

Gotten a lot of calls but they dont talk. I hung up every time.

Very persistent, they said they have me in their DB, I asked what DB - the person could not respond. Me being an Indian and call is from Indians / India - I could follow they want to talk / market something - VOIP related. I did not understand what they are trying to sell, they did not understand my explanation that we dont need their services, as it has no relevance to what we are doing. In 3rd or 4th call, I said - Dont make me use derogatory language. Believe me - I still get calls - but don't pick up.

The call center people call all the time, heavy heavy Indian accent.  Asked for someone who hasn't been at the company in more than 10 years.  I told them that the person was gone 10+ years, and what did the caller want. He next said asked for the IT Manager (by title, not name).  I said no, what could I do for you?  He said the IT Manager, and I said No.  What can I do for you? The third time he said IT Manager I just hung up.   Obviously he was unable to vary from the script, so he wasn't any fun to bait.  Oh well, maybe the next time I'll get one a little more lively.

Call from this number.  Silence on the other end.  I hung up after no resopnse.

receive calls from this number, then message is just music (like hold music?).  Message is usually about 50 seconds long. No other information given during call.  Caller ID say S Richmnd HL NY  phone # 347-809-6831

They are a call center. This is why the company they say they are representing changes often.

They call every day multiple times wanting to talk to the owner of the business or our IT person. I just hang up.

They called today saying they were from Compare Business.  A few weeks ago they called from the same number and said they were from IT Business Edge.  I told them last time the person they wanted was not interested.  This time I gave them the phone number for some other scam outfit and said the person they were looking for was there.

The call was from VoIP News.  They wanted the Phone and Data procurement decision maker.

Thank you so much. Figured since they called again today with a different company name.

Same number called today saying they were the company Answers trying to set up a web based seminar.
