Called my cell and asked for me.  It was very difficult to understand because his English was so poor.  I asked who he was and he said his name was Gene and he needed to get my information for a court case.  Never said who he represented but then I did not acknowledge, who I was either.  I told him never to call this number again.  It is BS.   These guys are bottom feeders who buy old debts that have already been written off by the company.  People need to be aware they are bullies and try to scare people.  If you give them $1, you then open the door to the old written off debt being re-filed.  I had this happen to friends.  Don't give them ANY INFORMATION!!!

this number just called me and now im glad i didn't pick up i actually been getting threatening fake emails from a MICHAEL THOMPSON which is very similar to the name in Mika's post . These losers seriously need to give it up and find a real job ive had enough of their ridiculous crap calling my phone from all these strange numbers and sending me fake emails saying that i need to pay $980 or im going to jail...lol really?? ok sure no problem where woulod you like me to send that to? COME ON! get a f**n life !

This guy called my phone leaving messages saying that if me or my attorney don't call him back good luck with the trouble that's headed my way. He had all my info ssn work number job everything. His paralegal name is suppose to be a Michael Thomas. He refer me to call a Adam Garcia who is supposedly an attorney. The number is 347-815-5684 but they tell you to call a 347-815-5735 number. These guys have and accent and are very rude they kept hanging up the phone and when I call back the phone just beeps. I notified my bank, lifelock. And I request a copy of my credit report . I have also, called a lawyer. I will be contacting the FBI and FTC office. These crooks need to be caught immediately. They threaten you and say you have three criminal charges pending and lawsuits. If anyone has pending charges why is a lawyer calling from New York? Under your rights they can't tell you that by phone or written. These guys want money sounds like and they are going to whatever level to scare people to get it. Extortion! Please if you are experiencing the same matter. Contact the authorities and let's bring these guys down.

I had the same issue today. The guy called me and could barely speak English. He blew up my phone and kept telling me that I was going to jail for 3 months and that a cop would be at my house within an hour. E had my social, my address, and my place of employment. He keeps harassing me.

Got a call from this number. At least if they want it to be believable then they should speak english. How stupid do these overseas scammers think we are?? Have blocked this # on my phone. But am sure they have lots of other #'s they can call me from.  Like other postings was threatened with arrest. I worked for state govt and know its B/S!!!!!!

I received a threatening call from a non English speaking person saying that I had three criminal charges against me. He would not provide any information  and said that cops would be coming to my door to arrest me. His name was Michael Thomas from Federal Legislation Legal department. The number he called from was 347-815-5684.

Hey, Thanks for that info! It was probably the ODDEST call I have gotten period! I put a complaint in with the FTC right away. Also notified my (Pennsylvania) Attorney general's office and better business bureau.
And as I said in my posting, being a former paralegal, that claim was so far over the top that I KNEW it was false!

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

Received a call from a women who BARELY spoke English saying she was a paralegal with a 'government' law firm...YEAH that's called the JUSTICE DEPARTMENT! She said I had criminal charges against me?? HUH?? Since I WAS at one time a paralegal, she is full of it!!! Told to call an Attorney 'Adam Garcia' at ANOTHER upstate NY number. They are most likely a bottom feeder debt collector. If your in trouble, you get a complaint, summons or subpoena SERVED on you OH and arrested!!....not calling to advise you!!!!! PLUS she said she had no info on the case...ALL paralegals have ALL access to cases.
DO NOT give them ANY info or money....they are trolling for something, BEWARE!!!

Threatening phone call from some Persian guys wanting money and not even my Attorneys could help. LOL

Have been receiving threatening calls from this number Just going to reported.. It is a scam.

Called and told me I had three federal criminal charges pending.  I work for the government and have to have a background check.  He asked if the last for digits of my SSN was XXXX.  It was off by one number so I told him no.  He hung up on me.

This number keeps calling me.  He stated that it was some legislative matter and that if i call my attorny, he has the details.  I dont have an attorny!  WTH is this?  Now he just left a messge that says "see you in the courthouse"  For what????????

I was called by this man three times july 30 .  Stated I had criminal chargers and he was from gov. Legislative or something I hung up

The caller said he was a lawyer and that i had criminal charges and said that if i hung up he would persue this matter in court. Well i know i have no criminal charges and if i did why would a lawyer call me from new york? BS! he also wanted my social security number. No way!

This person indicated they were a lawyer and I had to give them $800 in order to not go to jail. They also said if I hung up the phone I would go to jail.

THIS IS A MAJOR THREAT CALL!! IT IS B.S. AND IF THEY CALL YOU TELL THEM THEY ARE FULL OF IT AND YOU ARE NOT SCARED AND STOP CALLING!!
