He also said it was from a United States loan thing I don't know I just need to know if it's legit or a scam cuz I'm not giving any info to anyone over the phone

I got a call early this morning some guy with an accent saying he's from department of state he called me from (323)786-0590 a Los Angleas number which I've never been he said I had a law suit against me and my SSN and if I don't respond they'll will be a arrest warrant out on me is it a scam or what cuz I don't need this s*** right now?

I had to change my cell phone number David Smith from Public Credit Services calls my work about 50 times a day. Its horrible.

How everything goes with this "Law Firm".

I just got i call today for some outstanding balances with cash advances usa for 748 dollars, sounds like this is really a scam but not sure.

My caller id said 'UNKNOWN', so I thought I'd press talk and then end so they couldn't leave a message.  But someone was shouting, so dumb me, I answered.  They asked for my husband. I said he wasn't here. Then they asked who I was. (I guess they decided it was okay to talk to the wife. but, legally, is it?)  He said his name was David Smith and he was from Public Credit services PCS and that my husband had a legal issue about not paying a loan. I asked the name of the lender and David immediately passed me to his supervisor who was handling the case. the supervisor said his name was William Scott and he worked for Public consolidation services. I stopped him to say why did the other guy say 'credit'. He put me on hold and I heard muttering, then he returned and repeated the company name with consolidated in it. My husband supposedly had a loan with CashAdvanceUSA (whom I never of) and he owed $300. I'm supposed to pass this info on to my husband. Yea, right.  Somebody must be paying these people or it wouldn't be profitable for them to continue the same scam.  The only words that change in their script is the company name or their name.

These people are trying to tell me that i have an outstanding balance of over four thousand dollars, but would like to offer me a settlement offer of five hundred and two dollars. I have a very good feeling about this is a scam.  I would like to also state that they said i have this outstanding balance with the company cash advance usa.  I personally would like to reach through the phone and get ahold of some of these people.

"David Smith" clearly an Indian with a poor grasp of the English language called and said that there is a
pending legal action against me, and if I don't call him immediately, he cannot guarantee what will befall
me and my social security number.

I received a call from this number stating that they had my SSN on an affidavit.  I am an attorney so this sounded like a scam.  I called and asked what state they are in, they said NY, I also asked for a name and bar number that I could verify.  I looked up the one they gave me and it did not exist.  I called back and asked about it and they immediately hung up on me.  They claim to be part of the PCS law firm.  Obviously they are trying to scam people.

I was told there was a civil case pending against my ssn
I was then instructed to call a number which I did'nt.But the ill english speaking people kept calling me.So at last I actually called the number only to find a busy signal

I received a call from 347-875-3079 the person on the other side identified him self as Anderson.
He said to me that some on had used me has a reference on a lone and if I did not get them to call that I would be facing big legal problems he said he was calling from public consolidation services

No one spoke.

Okay I got a message from this number as well. Of course I knew it was a scam because no company or gov office can leave a message like that legally. Well I called them back and told them it was illegal and they have now blocked my number. I wish I would have gotten their address, but. If you can get all they info you can from them, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOURS, and report to the Federal Trade Commission (877) 382-4357. File a complaint. These people are using a company tname that does exsist but has nothing to do with this. They use disposable phones and are crooks. Please be careful!

I received a phone call from this 347-875-3079  by the name Robin Tyler saying that there was a lawsuit filed against my social security number.  She also stated that I needed to call the number before something happened to me.  I called my provider and changed my number right then and there.  When I arrived back at work, they had called my work number and left a message and the same number to call them.  Also, the number never came upon my caller ID on my cell phone.  This was weird.  I was very worried about what this was involving.

GETTING THE SAME PHONE CALL FROM 347-875-3079 STATING THAT THERE IS WARRANT OUT ON MY S/S NUMBER AND THAT IS I DO NOT CALL THEM BACK I WILL BE GOING TO JAIL. HE STATED THAT HIS NAME WAS OFFICER ROBERT DANA WITH THE LAW OFFICE AND THAT IT IS A URGENT MATTER TO TAKE OF THIS DEBT. I HAVE REQUESTED INFORMATION IN WRITING FROM THESE PEOPLE BUT DO NOT GET A RESPONSE. I TOLD HIM THAT I WOULD GET MY ATTORNEY INVOLVED AND NEXT PERSON HE WOULD HERE FROM IS MY ATTORNEY AND THEN I HUNG UP. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THERE PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT WOULD DO THIS ESPECIALLY TO THE ELDERLY. EVERYONE OF THESE PERSON SHOULD BE ARRESTED AND SENT BACK TO WHERE THEY CAME FROM.

they said someone filed a law suit against my ss#,for a loan.....i no for a fact that i did not ask or recive a loan from any one.

yesterday it was 315 825 0072........today it is 347 875 3079....same scam story..different number..same type foreign accented guy with a scam speel ..this time a civil suite...wrong ss number..wrong address...are they pulling at straws or what......once again..will report to the attorney general office in my home state. California, and source state of NY..will also report to the phone co that provides their service, and the local law enforcement....keep track of the numbers and report them wherever you can...

This man with a heavy accent called from this number 347-875-3079 and asked for an employee. Our employees are all out of the building due to the nature of our work. I am not allowed to take messages for employees unless is it a family emergency. The man got very arguementative and demanded a superviser, which I put on the phone. I could see the superviser aguing with the man about our company phone policy. She finally hung up. The man called back and the Executive Directer picked up the phone, she repeated the phone policy and he said he wanted the top boss.She said she was the top person and he said No, you're not!, and she said yes, I am,  and then she told him never to call us again. He got mouthy and she hung up on him. This guy needs a smack in the mouth

Yesterday my husband got a call from 347-875-3079 at his job staing that he owes his company 300 dollars from a cash loan that he got last year from cash advance amercia, my husband told him that he could not talk about this at that tme. My husband told me about it and i call the number 347-875-3079   mine you i told him who i was and what this was about. He stated that he owes this money & he has a case i ask number under a social security number . I told him that i will contact my bank and have them to freeze my account & i will get my attorney involved he hung up. I call back hung up , call back again i spoke to Jeffery he told me the same thing told him that i need the case number & the number to reach the company then hung up. call back hung up again, i waited 15 min later ask what company this was told me this was a law firm i ask what is the name of the company he hung up.I work in collections for 20 years.You can tell these people there call is me recored ask questions inform them you do have any attorney ask for the case number ask for the number to reach the orginal lender they will have the number on hand.

Received a call from 188...hmmm. So I did not answer. They left a voice mail (very hard to understand) stating I am in trouble and a lawsuit is pending against my SSN. He said his name is vince carter....LOL with a name like that you would think possible american?...NO! Can't even speak the language! Said he was from Public Credit Service. Left a call back number of 347-875-3079 and said for me to have a blessed day. WTHeck is this world coming to?

i have been getting calls/voicemails from this number as well either his name is Chris White, Sebastian or Steve Brown yeah right with an indian accent come on now....they cant even talk!  I was scared they have been threatening me saying the cops were coming to arrest me at my work!!  I mean come on....everyone is in debt....what the hell you know....why do you have to scare people...especially me i am a worry wart as it is!!!  I called my police department and they told me to file a report I think I am going to do that....

I received a call today from this number. The heavily accented man asked for me by first and last name. I had previously received a call of this nature claimg to be ALS, so I knew it was the same type of fraudulent call and hung up on him. He immediately called back and left a voicemail claiming that a lawsuit was about to be filed against my ssn. I had previously notified my bank about this call and placed a fraud alert with the credit bureaus. During my first encounter with these scammers I asked to speak with a supervisor or someone that spoke English without an accent. He got angry and when I questioned him further about his location and why the number showed up on my phone as an 8 digit number. I finally pissed him off enough that he hung up on me. Scary how they had all my info tho...

I started getting the same phone calls. The callers had heavy middle eastern or Indian accents. They went by the names Steve Harris and James Davis. They both called from 520-843-0103. Glen or Clarence Taylor called from 347-875-3079 and Mike with the last name sounding like Patowski called from 520-843-0103. They called me 24 times in one day! They are still calling even though I don't answer the phone. Sometimes they leave messages. In one of the messages the caller stated that a case was filed against my social security number by American pay day loans for $300.00 and if I did not ETF them $697.79 The case would be filed at the court house at 5:00 pm that day. I called American pay day loans and they had never heard of me. Of course the case wasn't filed and I even got a vm today stating that they placed my case on hold to give me another chance to comply with there terms. What is alarming is that they have my social security number, home and work address, the name of the place where I work, my work e-mail and the last 4 digis of my bank account number. They have even threatened to call my supervisor and tell them of the legal case they are filing as well as the charges against me. Check fraud being one of them. There were several other charges that I could not make out because of the heavy accents. I don't even write checks! I  called my bank and reported this. I am protected from any type of fraud against my accounts. My credit reports are being monitored daily.  I've also gotten vm messages, both from women stating I've won free gas vouchers as well as stating that my order was ready to ship and that they need to verify shipping information. I have not given them any information. I am very concerned that they have my home address though.  These people leave threatening messages and threaten you with legal consequences should you not comply with there demands. The are relentless in there persuit.

I too just received a threatening voicemail on my phone from this number. The weird accented dude told me his name was clarence taylor. This is what I do when I receive these phone calls. 1. Listen to the voicemail, wait 20 mins or so then dial them back. 2. let them tell you their speech, and ask for where you need to send thier money 3. when they start their little threatening speech, interrupt them and let them know that due to the nature of the voicemail messages, and the laws pertaining to debt collectors, you contacted the FBI and they are currently on the phone with you tracking their location.  hahahahaha. they hang up right quick like.

I Recieved a call  today from a forien man today saying his name was David Smith. How Funny a Iracian with the name David Smith how original is that.!!!! The number they called from was 347-875-3079 he said he was from American Legal Services yet he could hardly speak American. He said there was a Lawsuit against me for an unpaid payday loan. I told him if He called me again there would be a lawsuit against them.!!!! These people continue to call and make threats. I want them to know! THE THREAT WILL BE ON THEM IF THEY EVER CATCH THOSE BASTERDS !!!!!!!!

Wow - Thanks for all who posted about this.  I received two calls and two voice-mails this morning with relatively the same information.  I listened to the voicemails several times to document every word he said to help.  My phone recorded the call as coming from the number: 052-497-347 (which is odd as there aren't enough numbers.. it kinda makes me think he altered it so he couldn't be tracked).  Here's what he told me:

First voicemail received:

"Message for Mike, Mike _____.  Mike, this is Kevin Vicar and I'm calling you from Law Firm of PCS... that is Public Critic Service. Mike, the reason for my call is to inform you about one of your friend, _____ ______.  It is about ______ ______ (said slowly).  Now, Mike, there is a legal issue against his name, and it is regarding to his SSN.  It's a very serious and very urgent matter.  Please pass my message to _______ as soon as possible and tell him to call me back.  It's very important for him to reach me.  Tell him to call me on 347-875-3079.  I repeat, my contact number is 347-875-3079, and look for Kevin V..(voicemail ended; cutting off his last name).

Second voicemail received (sent within minutes of the first):

Message for Mike _______.  Mike, this is Kevin Vicar, and I'm calling you from Law Firm of PCS.. that is Public Critic Service.  My contact number is 347-875-3079.  Please pass my message to ______ _______.  This is for ______ _____, and there is a legal issue against his name, and it is regarding to his SSN.  So, make sure you will pass my message to him.  Have a blessed day.

I copied each word he said, regardless of how bad his English was.  Hopefully this will help if you've received a call from this number.  Honestly, I called my local state police barracks and reported this.  They didn't offer much help, but stated that it's probably phony and to do a few google searches to double check.  I'm glad I did.

PS #1: I did end up calling my friend to explain what happened.  He hadn't received any phone calls about this.  (interesting they called me instead of him.. or had my phone number.. and not my friend's.)

Oh.. and PCS? - Public Critic Service? - I'll give you a clap for a really bad try.
