If you have the YouMail App, it's the "Deposit Access Number" they TELL YOU ABOUT in the "Terms of Service", as well as several other places, when you SIGN-UP FOR THE APP! It's where your "unanswered calls" go, so, you know, you can then sign-in to YouMail and CHECK YOUR MESSAGES. They have to GO & be HELD SOMEWHERE! I highly suggest you a) PAY ATTENTION to the "instructions & info" when you install an app, b) PAY ATTENTION to wtf the app you've chosen to download is and what pertinent info the developer provides just under the screenshots (ie the "Description" of the app) and/or c) Ask a friend w/ an IQ higher than that of an EGGPLANT to assist you in your app choices and how to use them.

I love my YouMail service... people shouldn't mistake you notifying us of a blocked call with being spammed by you. What shows up on my screen is a phony number but the number on my bill is YouMail's. That confused me at first, now I get it. Don't delete YouMail for that reason, you are shooting yourself in the foot.

Like many of the other posters have said, this is an answering service that you or somebody signed up for your phone number. When someone calls you and you don't answer, it typically goes to your phone company provided voice mail, like ATT Call Notes. Then you can go and check your missed calls. When you sign up for YouMail, it starts catching those calls instead of your traditional voicemail service. So each call that you miss gets forwarded to YouMail. Each of those forwarded calls shows up as if you actually answered the phone, when really it was Youmail's answering service. So ... 30 missed calls = 30 forwarded calls to YouMail = 30 one minute phone conversations as far as your phone bill is concerned.        SOLUTION:  Either cancel YouMail (typically they put a YouMail Deactivate number in your address book that you can dial to stop the service) or start answering your phone. Because if you keep YouMail, you're getting billed a minimum of one minute for EVERY call you answer or don't answer. Good Luck.

Did you not read the previous posts?  I'ts YOUMAIL.  It's completely legit.  IF you don't answer your phone, it forwards to YouMail, where you can customize the message the person gets when they call and you can check your voicemail from your phone, tablet, or computer.  There is nothing illegal about it, and the police are probably not going to do anything for you.

The Call Forwarding feature can only be setup by you and your carrier. If the deactivation code does not work, please contact your carrier to disconnect YouMail from your phone.

You need to file a complaint with your phone service provider, the FTC , CFB & FCC.  And tell your provider your filing complaints with the FTC & FCC.
You might also look into a call blocking app, if your cell doesn't have one already.

30 calls in less than a month.  I have no minutes left on my plan and want this person/company to STOP and pay for my used minutes.

I counted on my bill 30 calls from this number in less than a month from this number.  If this isn't harassment, I'd like to know what is,  I have no minutes left and am paying for more on a plan which is unfair.  Please make this stop.  I'm not a wealthy person and live within my means.  I can't afford to stop my contract which will cost hundreds of dollars to terminate and ruin my credit.  This is unfair.

Telemarketer
I have repeated calls which are charging toward my minutes on my plan.  I never solicited this person/company to call me and I want it to STOP! I pay for my phone not this telemarketer and hate that this person is infringing on my private phone which is costing me money.  Please make them stop!!!!!

This phone number has been calling my cell phone for 2 months non stop. I have tried blocking it and somehow at times it gets through.  I have tried calling it and get an automated answer.  I need to know who to contact.  The last call that came through was AFTER midnight.

Do you use YouMail? My # was forwarded too and it scared me, but I looked it up and it's because I use the YouMail service and not my default VM.

I have received at least six or seven calls from this number. I call my provider and they could not or would not do anything about it. I explained about it using my minutes and their reply was that I wasn't over my limit yet. WTF !

I also came across this number on my Verizon Wireless online account while checking usage! SO strange! Shows four 1minute calls from area NWYRCYZN15. To confirm, number is  (347) 896-6996. This number doesn't even show in my call records on my device, nor did I have any other calls that occurred during the listed times of 8:59 AM on 8/2/13 AND then on 8/3/13 times were 12:32, 5:57, 6:02, 7:42, 7:44, 8:57 & 8:58. Maybe a Verizon scheme to take away minutes to increase the possibility of overage? Had I checked the usage next week, I would never had noticed. I only noticed because the "calls" were on page 1!

This is the "deposit access number" for the YouMail service.  When you sign up for YouMail, one of the steps is to forward all missed calls (those you don't answer) to this access number.   We carefully inform all users that this will happen and they have to check OK before doing so.   At any point, you can just google "cancel YouMail" for detailed instructions on how to unforward (which differs by carrier).

People,

This has been happening to me as well, just go to your contacts and you should have a contact under the name "Youmail Deactivate", just call and that should take care of it!!!!

It's YouMail. It's like an external voice mail. You can turn it off in your contacts it should have a deactivate number stored, just dial that and it'll stop forwarding your phone calls.

This is a YouMail access number that people forward their missed calls to.   It sounds like your son may have been forwarding your phone to this number (which is why it appears on your Verizon Wireless bill).

I received 3 calls from this number today, two within the same minute. Who the hell are they? After checking my phone, I received no calls from this acutal number. I happened across it while checking my Verizon Wireless account. At the exact same time my son tried to call me today - and his number is completely different from this one- this number is listed in my Verizon Wireless Usage info. But on my phone, the calls came from my son's phone. This is very strange. It's almost as if my son's number was routed through this one. I hope I don't have any problems from this.
