Yikes, these people won't leave me alone. Call my work and my cell. I to filled out for a payday loan but declined when I read the terms. I noticed they took 19 cents from account and put it back in and then wanted to take more out. I called them to cancel there what ever and the guy hung up on me! I have to change my bank account and phone numbers! What a pain in the you know what. I'm afraid like the other girl they will fraudulently report me to telecheck and I won't be able to write checks anywhere! Very

They are from White Plains New York in Westchester County. Texted me saying I won $1000 to Best Buy. I just tested him back saying, hey you are texting a minor so stop or you will be reported.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters have instructed victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain amount, on a specific date, via a pre-paid Visa card. The statement further declares the victim will never dispute the debt.

If you receive these calls, do not follow the caller?s instructions. Rather, you should:

?Notify your banking institutions.
?Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
?Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
?File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.
Tips to avoid becoming a victim of this scam:

?Never give your Social Security number?or personal information of any kind?over the telephone or online unless you initiate the contact.
?Be suspicious of any e-mail with urgent requests for personal financial information. The e-mail may include upsetting or exciting but false statements to get you to react immediately.
?Avoid filling out forms in e-mail messages that request personal information.
?Ensure that your browser is up-to-date and security patches have been applied.
?Check your bank, credit, and debit card statements regularly to make sure that there are no unauthorized transactions. If anything looks suspicious, contact your bank and all card issuers.
?When you contact companies, use numbers provided on the back of cards or statements

I received a call from this same outfit, the caller said her name is Lisa Brown with Department of Crime and Justice. Asked me if I was the person they were calling. I in turn asked where she was calling from she told me Dept. of Crime and Justice, I asked her for the phone number and she provided this number to me 914-269-4450 I asked where they were located and she said New York.  By all this info I guess its the same place all the others have received calls from. She started to explain what it was all about and to be honest I could not understand much of what she was telling me I asked her to repeat herself several times but I still could not understand what she was saying.  I then asked her what was the last name of the person she wanted to speak to and she provided the name to me and I told her it was not me she just hung up.  This original call was made to my work number  shortly thereafter she called my cell phone.  What a bunch of scammers.

Said they were from the Department of Crime & Justice with the name Alex Torner. Stating there was a case file on Charles Lewis which I was being sued. I did not return the call.

this axx has been calling my work and i work night shifts someone else sits at my desk during the day.

ok im tired of this constant harrassment, this guy keeps calling me (with India accent) says his name is Robert David i think, telling me i have  a criminal record or something against my name and social security number and is about to take place with a lawsuit or legal problem and that i am accused of

until this last week it showed unknown caller but now it shows : 512-588-7149 Burnet, TX.
i have all his voice mails saved,  and this week he has called and left another voice mail on my home
phone this time threatening my mother stating that she is hiding me from him and that he is going to come chase me.   lol

definitely this guy is reading something off his pc screen or a paper.   very bad english too.

i got a call at my workplace and they told me about my remaining balance to loan company...
i checked out with my bank and it was positive, i called them back and asked for the amount and it was same as was in my statements.. i paid them and got a certificate on my mail ID. free now and no more rings at my workplace or at home either.

The same thing happend to me i aplyed to one of the loans did not accept the loan now 2 places are takeing money out of my account! and i did not aprove anything im so mad and i do not know what to do. im closing my account but i know this will not go away any sugestions? and this guy names justin clark from office of crime agency calls me as well. but will not call my phone only my work! HELP

This Phone number keep on calling me saying that I owe a payday advance and that they have filed 3 felony charges against me for fraud and some other things. The man who left the message on my phone is the same man who answered when I returned the call but used a different name. He apparently has my information I would like to know who these people are and how can they be stopped. I tried to call the number back a 3rd and fourth time and got no answer just a answering machine. So I reversed the number and it coming from a land line phone to me meaning house phone.

they called me trying to say that they are from the crime and management division stating that they have been contacted by a place called quick cash america and that they sent me a payday loan that has not been paid back and if i didnt  pay it back they was going to garnish my husbands disability check. i have bot received a payday loan a day in my life. they said i was lieing.

Just received a call from Ben Johnson he gave me an address of 1401 Jackson Place Brooklyn NY Crime Investigation Unit.  He stated that I was being investigated for and that they had all of my business information and last four of my social security number.  After I told them that I had a report pending for them he told me see you in court.
