This is a scam.  I received a postal money order which I thought was as good as cash.  I deposited it.  Bank said it cleared but a day later it bounced.  The job was a mystery shopper job and I was supposed to be given $200 out of the money and western union the rest to the next secret shopper. Instead they got my money.  and I am out everything.

I was contacted through an email about a mystery shopper opportunity.  Many of these are legit.  However, I got suspicious today when I received an email stating the package was being sent UPS, with a check of $975 and further instructions.  It so happened that I was contacted a couple of months ago about translating a book. My name was found through and organization that I belonged to which is very well known and recognized.  The problem here was that they sent a check (prepayment) in the amount of  - you guessed it - $975. A scam. I notified the local police. They came over and made a copy of it. But I was told that nothing can be done, because no crime was committed. I was not out the money. Sad, that people have to be "out the money" in order for they authorities to step in. I will do like the person above and not accept the package.

The large majority of scams come from Nigeria,India, Russia. The law enforcement there has little interest in arresting criminals who scam stupid Americans. The secret of a good scam is speed. The faster they can get you to send them money, & not think what you are doing, makes it work. As soon as you see "Western Union", UK +44 70 phone numbers, free web based email address', text or email only (no phone call - because then you'd hear their accent), it's a SCAM! Due Diligence.

Claims he has a job for me. Mystery shopper which will pay good money and he has sent me an email with details. No emails received. Is he trying to get me out of my house to rob me. Is this that mystery shopper scam where they send me a check over paying me and expect me to wire them back the excess? All these look ups and reports and no one does anything. Helping the bad guys continue to scam the hard working Citizens of this country. The people that pay their taxes to help this country and citizens. Someone out there is an enabler. You enable these scammers to continue.

I just got the same thing. How do you know it's a scam? I know it seems really fishy, but I don't see how they would get any important info from you.

This is a scam first they want to know if you got your money order. Then I told him I know it is a scam and he begs me for money because he is sick. Then he continues to beg also saying that kingpins are making him do these scams. He is a really pathetic scam artist.
