This guy is too funny. He calls me a couple times a day. First he was a police officer from FL, and if i didn't give them money, they were going to file a lawsuit in my county (MN). Then he called a half hour later saying he still hadn't heard from me, and they were going to being sending in "teams of people" to both my work and home... lol. Then he called again, and talked about the teams coming to get me. The next day the same thing, and the next. Today he called and said he was from a law firm, and was going to send the FBI to get me... HAHA.... what a tool, you can only understand every third word he says anyways, since his accent is so thick, but his name is Eric.... wow, who would really fall for this, terrible.

This John Parker person { kind of a strange name for an somebody in India }  has been calling and threatening for about 6 months now.  He is saying that I owe over $2,000 but he can reduce that by over a thousand if I send him the payment within an allotted time.   What a farce.

Today I received a call from John Parker saying that I owe money from a payday loan. First he verified all my info like my name, address, and birth date, he even said the name of the bank I am with and said my account number( said the account number so fast, not even sure if it was right). He said he was from United States Legal Dept I was a little scared and was going to do what he said, but after reading you guys responses and then looking for the company under BBB and couldn't find nothing on it I feel so much better. And by the way he said that it totaled up to almost $1,900 for a $300 loan. He is surpose to call me back in 1 hour to give me the details of my account. I told him I could pay $50 a week, because I'm broke and thats all I could afford and he keep saying give me $750 today and it could be over. Anyway thanks I feel much better!!!!

Officer Robbie Dawson had contacted me in regards to a unpaid loan.  I admit, I have utilized a payday loan once, but I have a bank statement proves that I had paid back within 2 weeks.  I got as far as trying to fax paper work...thank goodness it didn't work.  Officer Dawson then advised me to email him a letter with all my information (bank, driver's license, ect.ect)  I recieved an email address with a yahoo.com.  I asked Officer Dawson why if he worked for a county court why wasn't the email address a "dot org" or something with "dot gov" .  He stated that the servers were down and that is why he gave me that address.  Well if the servers are down, then all email is down!  He was soooo verbally aggressive that he made me cry.  He then offered to pay half of the debt that I supposedly owed.  I am glad I decided to google the number and saw all of your responses.  Thank you.

these are scammers and the set-up themselves in a call center in India but have their calls routed through Jacksonville from a house and they are out to scam so if you receive these calls do not answer and if you do answer take as much information as you possibly can from them but do not give them ANY information about you nor do you verify any information that they as of you.  Because if they were legit they would not call you to verify your info they would already have it.  We are working hard to catch these thieves and put them behind bars for good.  So do not be afraid of them and they can not lock you up.  I repeat they CAN NOT LOCK YOU UP! So don't let their words scare you.  Just hang up the phone on them or better yet remember their numbers and don't answer when you see it come across your caller ID.

I have received several call from this company.  They are out there to scam you.  Luckly there are fairly stupid in their processes.  In CO we can ask them to ceese communication via phone and I only want to be communicated via mail.  Then get mad and state that they have sent me several letters and I have ignored them, which is bs.  Any respectable collections company or law office will send that type of mail via certified.  The guy on the phone didn't even know what certified mail is(what a joke).  I asked for proof that is is my debt and when they emailed it to me it had a future date and in a letter format.  I was expecting some legal documentation.  I received a call from Officer Ryder and he when as far as saying he would get someone from the original creditor on the phone and call me back.  That was a joke because the other guys name was Officer Dawson. I cannot wait until these people get caught.

I too have received a phone call from these people stating that I owed for a payday loan that was issued by BMG but never paid. The individual who contacted me was Officer Ryder and he threatened to file a lawsuit and issue an arrest warrant.  I told him I do not owe this debt because I never took out a loan with these people.  He was very rude and wouldn't provide me much information regarding this "lawsuit" they were filing.  He really had me scared when he said that they would throw me in jail...I'm pregnant and the thought of that really frightened me. I called my fraud protection company and told them the situation and they assured me it was a scam,  After reading the previous entry from the Kansas Attorney General I'm sure this is a scam.

Consumer Alert: Attorney General warns Kansans of debt collection scam

January 29, 2010 -- Attorney General Steve Six is cautioning Kansas consumers about telephone calls from apparent fake debt collectors who are impersonating law enforcement officers in an effort to extort money from consumers.   Consumers are warned to not submit payments to these fraudulent debt collectors.

When calling, the scammers most often state they are attempting to collect a debt related to an internet payday loan obtained by the consumer, but which the consumer never repaid.  Consumers state they have never obtained such a loan or paid off the loan years ago.  The scam artists have most recently identified themselves as ACS, National Affidavit Processing Department and United Financial Crime Division, but may use additional phony names.  It appears the phone numbers used by the scammers are ?spoofed? numbers, so that the number appearing on a consumer?s caller ID is not the actual number of where the call originated. It appears the calls in question may be originating from outside the United States.

When questioned, the individual calling refuses to disclose the full name or address of the collection agency they claim to represent.  These scammers have been able to provide consumers with identifying information, such as the consumer?s social security number, home address, e-mail address, names of family members and the consumer?s computer IP address.  Since the callers are able to provide valid personal information, consumers may become confused and believe they are being contacted in regard to a legitimate debt.

If the initial debt collection scam is unsuccessful, consumers have been re-contacted months later with the scammers posing as law enforcement officers or officers of the court.  Typically, the consumer is threatened with arrest for fraud or some other fictitious crime unless the consumer agrees to immediately wire money via Western Union.  The fictitious officers strive to frighten and confuse consumers into compliance by using legal sounding terms such as ?We?re filing an affidavit against you? or by stating a lawsuit has been or is in the process of being filed against the consumer.

A hallmark of each scam has been calling consumers repeatedly at their place of employment.  This scam hit home when an employee of the Kansas Attorney General?s Office was repeatedly called both on her cell phone and at work.  Despite the employee?s repeated verbal disputes, the caller refused to provide any identifying information to allow her to send a written dispute. The scammer also continued to call her numerous times a day regarding a payday loan she denied obtaining. Two months later, she was again contacted by telephone by an individual identifying himself as an ?officer?.

?I denied owing the debt and refused to pay without being provided validation of the debt. I was then told, ?If that?s the case, I will have local law enforcement come to your place of business and drag you out kicking and screaming?,? stated the employee.

?It is important for consumers to know their rights under the law,? Attorney General Six said. ?If a consumer is receiving calls from a debt collection company and believe it is a scam, I encourage them to contact our office immediately.?

Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), collectors are required to send consumers a written notice within five days of the initial contact.  The notification should contain  information such as the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed and a statement informing the consumer they have thirty days to contact the debtor in writing to dispute the debt or request validation of the debt. In addition, legitimate debt collectors are prohibited by the FDCPA from making false or misleading representations, such as the consumer has committed a crime, implying nonpayment will result in the consumer?s arrest, or using the threat of violence.

More information is available on the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act at http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf.

I received a call from this "Officer" Robbie Dawson calling saying he was from the Federal Government and had a legal final on me from BMG for identity fraud regarding a payday loan.  He called me at my work number.  He said he was from Associate Court House Service.

Is this true or not?  Can someone help me?
