This number is for Great American Senior Benefits.  According to an insurance forum I found, it sounds like they sell Medicare Supplement  insurance.  Since I will be 65 in December, I assume that this is why they called me.

Just got a phone call from Iris Pena about a job in Palm Harbor. Looking at these posts has me confused. Does anyone on these back and forths work for this company? Before going for a interview.... I would like some real info about this company. I don't have the time to sit around not making money. So any real insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It's sad that most of you just to these assumptions without knowing what you're talking about. Great American us a legitimate company run by Frank DeJiulio, who has 28 years of experience in the business. Yes, they sell insurance, but they have many loyal clients and lots of successful agents. Their people are licensed and background checked and are completely ethical and they have great products.

Iris is not their secretary, she's their recruiter and yes she calls from Ocala for all their offices, which isn't strange or fishy at all! A lot of companies out there don't recruit from their actual location.

Don't work for this company - they're unorganized and sloppy. There's no base pay - salary only - and the training there is laughable. If you do decide to go to the group interview, you'll be hired immediately if you show any interest, go through all the trouble of getting your license, then you'll be broke for at least six months (probably closer to a year) until you can get enough business to support yourself. He takes a higher cut of your commission than anyone else in the business and the "training" you get is laughable. Although they say they are "Great American", they are actually a whole different company - Great American Senior Benefits. They are NOT affiliated with the well established Great American. Trust me - not worth it. Wait until they get their act together.

If you're getting these calls, they DO offer great products, same as any other insurance company - but make sure you get with a SENIOR agent because all the new trainees are a joke.

Obviously it's a legitimate company.  If you would have furthered your research Sam you would have seen that Great American was founded in 1836 and is one of the TOP rated companies out there.  So for your information they actually have more than one office in Florida.  The main office is in Ocala but they do hire for the office in Palm Harbor.  But you wouldn't know that because your simply making assumptions based on your caller id??  That's smart!  Possibly this is the reason you are unemployed?  So before you go slandering a company I suggest you do a little more research.  Not all companies conduct their hiring the same way and it looks like you missed out on great opportunity for employment with an A rated company based on assumptions..or your caller-id..lol

Iris from American Senior Benefits call me yesterday from 352-368-7500 for a position that I really have no experience in.  She had said she saw my resume online & when I asked her from where, she said Monster.com.  I asked her many other questions & she seemed to be irritated by my questions.  She said I would interview with Frank (the owner) in the Ocala office, which was in the TD Bank building.  The job would be in The Villages in the Oakland Hills Professional Center on 441, but she could not give me an address, saying there wasn't one, as they are just moving in there.

I was checking out the company & I found this web site & all the posts going back to 2009.  I never thought this company may not be on the up & up, but seeing the responses, especially Steve's from Aug. 2011, I am now not so sure.  Why would Iris get irritated at me, when she is the one who called?  Also some of her other responses, are now putting up a red flag in my mind.

I called the number she left 352-307-5499, after reading these posts & got her voice mail.  She said she was Iris Penya (? sp) & I left a message, asking for the title of the job she called me about & the salary.  I will be curious if she calls back & what she says.  Do you think I should tell her about what I heard about the company, if she calls back?

I posted my resume on career builder and this nimber called me, someone named Francine. They said it was for a job but I live in Palm Harbor and this number is Ocala. Sounds like another scam to me. If it was a real job offer this is not legit way to do business. I've been alerted to these kind of calls before and I know their MO. Don't bother with calls like this.

Before you slander a great company and more importantly a great man get your facts right! No one in that office is a crook. That business is ran the right way and everyone who works their has completed and passed a complete background check and credit check. People with any criminal records, even a DUI are forbidden to work their. And for the agents who have bad credit, they only are allowed to sell certain products. I'm guessing you have bad credit which wouldn't enable you to sell a great product such as AARP which is probably why you no longer work there lol no one wanted to buy the crap products that you were only allowed to sell because your credit score sucks and that's your fault. And the products sold their are nothing short of excellent. You get what you pay for and that's totally up to the client.  Enough said, f*** off Steve.

I used to work for these guys.  They are an Insurance company that rips off old people with crap products.  Before I left, they started to have unlicensed people making calls, Frank DeJiulio should be ashamed of himself.  Don't trust these crooks.

I got a call from this number also, 4/25/2011 about a job. The company is Great American Senior Benefits. I asked what are the benefits, like insurance? She said "yes", you would be sitting down with senior citizens that already have an insurance policy set up and you would just be updating the policy and making sure that they meet the requirements. ??? Not sure about this one. I google the location on the office that they are hiring for and ...nothing. No office in The Villages.

I got a call today 4-20-2011 from some one named Iris Pbalgobin, enia, who said she was calling me about a job. I didnt get the name of the company at first and when I asked I thought she said she was with Great American Insurance. I then asked if the job would involve selling insurance and she said no, it would involve dealing with senior citizens. and when I again asked the name of the business, we got disconnected. When I looked at my caller ID the number she called from was 352-693-4621, my caller ID said the name associated with that number is Kevin Balgobin. However when I dial the number I got a message saying this is Iris Penia, please leave a message, which I did but she has not called me back. I'd like to know how she got my number and what the call was about. Did you ever get offered a job and was it a insurance sales job.
