Harassing calls about lowering credit card interest and then they hang up as soon as you get a hold of someone.

Just got the call.  When I answered it disconnected.  I called back becaue I'm trying to rent out a house, and thought the number (from Marysville, Wa) was legit.  Obviously not.  Then I got a bogus recording that I'd reached their opt-out number.  Bull.  Too late for me, now they know my random number is live.  I'm screwed.  A hundred scam artists probably have it by now.

I no longer answer ANY calls where I do not recognize a caller ID.  Their caller ID showed CUSTOMER SVC -- way too generic to be a valid caller ID.  This has to be a scam!

CAUTION: This people are fishing for information, they call pretending to be from Visa or Bank of America, they claim to help you lower your interest rates, they provide a "general balance" such as if your credit card has over $3K on it. Then they want to verify the credit card information and your personal infortion. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION. Hang up and call your bank and have them make a note on your account as your personal information may be in jeopardy.

Got a call from the, several times since 2010. Their last call to me was just 4 minutes ago. My Girlfriend who has Autism has also received multiple calls from this number. She may not be able to know what to do at times with calls like this, if she gets the automated recording, but has learned to just hang up in a hurry. My biggest worry as a Security Professional myself, and being someone who knows Autism, is that people with disabilities are often targeted like the elderly for Identity Theft. My last Case of 2011 had me apprehending someone in my building for Credit Card Fraud, but my case uncovered a Nation Wide Identity Theft Spree. Disposition of all his charges was very one sided as you can imagine. Subject ended up getting 50 years on all charges, and will not be parole eligible. This is how strict they are cracking down on Identity Theft at the Federal Level. The Security people you see in Target and other stores do a whole lot more than you think, and aren't nearly paid enough for what they do as I am telling you from experience.

Another thing... I have a contact that I send directly to voice mail, for just such.... callers.  No ring tone, and since they're too smart to leave a voice mail, then I don't have to listen to that, or have a missed call.  Now who's smart?  LOL

Automated message discussing last chance to reduce interest rate on credit card.  Pressed 1 for operator, answering as 'Card Services'.  Asked which card they were referring to, she stated 'Your Visa or Mastercard'.  Which bank?  "Bank of America, Chase, Citibank, or Wells Fargo".
Do you work for a bank or third party marketer?  "Bank"
Which one? "Chase.  Stop asking questions now"
Is your supervisor available? "Yes"
May I speak with them? "No"  and hung up

Scammer with an Indian accent that wanted my ss #. I thought I was being pranked!

I just got one this morning.  Didn't leave a message.  Thanks everyone for the heads up on it being a credit card scam.

Just got a call from these b****eads on my cell phone.  I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer.  I then checked the phone number on Google and was directed here.  I deleted their number after I put it in my junk number list...It seems being on a DNC list means nothing to these bums...

A** holes finally got to my cell phone. First time my cell's been called.  Really bad news...Had this problem with home phone and felt lucky they hadn't gotten to my cell phone.  They should all be arrested.

I also received a call from this number and didn't answer.  And like GGNewYorker, I called the number back only to find it was an automated recording (from an un-named company) to remove my number from their call list.  However, their system is flawed because it tells you must confirm the number that called you in order to be removed or else check it and call them back.  But they deliberately leave digits off the number so there is no way you can remove yourself from the list!   And why are they calling when my number is on the DNC list anyway!?!  So either way, the company has shown themselves to be scammers.

I received a call from the same number this morning, with a recorded message about lowering my interest rate (on what, I do not know).  The number appears to be in Washington state.  This call coincides with unauthorized charges on my credit card.  Both occurred shortly after I provided my credit card information and cell phone number to secure a reservation at a Marriott hotel.  Has anyone else received the call shortly after a stay at a Marriott hotel?

RECV'D CALL FROM THIS NUMBER, I DIDN'T ANSWER. WHEN I CALLED THE NUMBER BACK IT WAS AN AUTOMATED RECORDING TO REMOVE MY NUMBER FROM THEIR CALL LIST.

Come On People!  If you cant figure out this is a SCAM on the first 5 seconds of the call, you need to open your eyes!  I purposely pushed 1 just to speak with the scam artist. They cant even tell you what CC company you belong too.  After telling them what a worthless piece of trash they are and to get a real job like the rest of Americans, I hung up.

Do not ever give any personal information to anyone over the phone or internet!  The companies who need it, already have it! Common Sense!

They just keep calling. Asking to lower my interest rate. They need to quite harassing me. Really a pain in the b##t. Keep calling my cellphone leaving a recordered message. When I call all I get is a recorded message as well. They need to be stopped.

This number calls several times a week. I do not want their calls! Thank you.

I received an identical call yesterday.  It was a recorded message telling me I could lower the interest rate on my credit car.  Just press #1 and the call would be directed to the person who could do this.
