It seems that every time I report a telemarketer to the FCC, the calls from that number stop.
I know that most of these companies have multiple phone numbers that they call behind, so, I've been reporting every call lately and the volume of telemarketing calls has decreased.

They called again today at 3:21pm - I just noticed their call and it after 7pm.  Our phones do not ring when a blocked call comes in.

Receiving repeated calls on our hot line (513) 929 4483 and when we call to ask them to take us off of their list the line goes dead.  It would seem the telephone company that issued this number could address this complaint.  Perhaps I have contacted the wrong party.

It's been a while since these a - holes have called.  Yep, they're still blocked and our office phone did not ring.

Numerous unwanted calls throughout the day. We have four lines and the calls roll over.

This call has  something to do with  "affordable health care"....something we have no interest in.  We believe it is  from some "Spam" caller.  
  I noted that some other comments fault the DNC (The Federal Do Not Call system).  I should remind those who comment ignorantly that this program has been in place under both political parties.  From what we have learned,  the Federal Do Not Call System is no longer active.  The answer is simple.  When government becomes too big, nothing can be done efficiently.    Secondly,  the system is voided for  all  "toll-free" calls.  
    There are now a wide number of toll free prefixes and numbers known as "FREE phones".  In fact,  we located over  27 pages of world-wide prefixes.     We did find that this phone number is located in the State of Washington, but the actual caller could be located in any foreign country using  a  US relay number .
 This caller is  very annoying, since our computer responses are consistent and informs  the caller after a single 'ring'  they are blocked and future calls will be treated in the same manner.  We believe this caller is automated.  All calls  to our office are linked to our multiple G4 Macs  24/7 . The rejection process requires only a single attempt  through which  the incoming calls are  either "accepted" or "rejected".  If  rejected  (as in "spam" or "phishing" calls), a custom recorded messages  based on assessment of the "threat" level to our firm is assigned.

Phone rings with this number and says Maryville, WA but no one says anything and then they hang up

these people are too persistant

Sometimes used as a spoof number if your on workers comp and you are being followed by an insurance company from your job do to an injury to see if your faking your injury..Youtube shows how investigators use different tactics to see if your at home. affordable health shows on the caller ID but its not them.

They won't stop calling. they call several times a day.

We are an veterinary emergency HOSPITAL. This morning this number called here and tied up 3 lines. This is totally unacceptable. These calls need to stop immediately. Can't anyone do anything about this??????

caller id says affordable health care, i don't answer. or sometimes i answer and say nothing so their computer disconnects me. Hey can we robo call them? sometimes I answer my city's name and say police dept. just to mess with them.
my number is one digit off the VA's here so maybe I'll start answering that, or repeat everything the person says to  me.
Just to f--k with them. whenever I don't know the caller id person/number i don't answer, if they want to talk to me they will leave a message.

Probably another scamer trying to make money of the affordable healthcare act.  Try to make it look legitimate but wants to use their own "licensed agents" to do the business. If you already deal with one of the companies they list, you already have an agent who will work with you so their "agents" are  not needed.

we have filed a half dozen complaints to the FTC's Do Not Call office which has done absolutely nothging. we continue to receive 6-8 calls a week from these scumbags. The DNC Registry is a joke under Obama.

Good start.  However, assuming it's convenient, talk to them.  Let them go through their script.  Ask questions.  Act interested, but non-committal.  Take up their time.  Remember, every minute they talk to you, they aren't making a sale.  I've kept them on the line for 20-30 minutes.  If just 15 other people did that every day, it would effectively take out a live sales person.  Just 30 people can disable 2 live sales people.  And that translates to real money.  That comes out of profit.  And out of the thousands of calls they make every day, it doesn't take a huge percentage of people to play along.

The telemarketers know it's a numbers game, and hanging up benefits their numbers.  Make the numbers work for us.  Take up their time.  Every opportunity you get.  Kill the profit, and you kill telemarketing.  DNC lists and reporting them haven't worked well.  But if enough people do this, talking to them will hurt them more than anything else.

They call 3 times a day 6 days a week and never leave a message.  Really sick and tired of these people that do this.  We get seat belt tickets for not wearing them "Which our safety under our constitution is OUR choice, In OUR vehicle on OUR time" But yet these people are allowed to do this type of marketing.  Really starting to wonder if I really am proud to be a American...  This country If everybody would MIND THERE OWN BUSINESS THEN 95% OF THIS COUNTRY'S ISSUES WOULD BE NON EXISTENT...   THINK BOUT IT, NO MORE WHITE PEOPLE LOOKING AT OTHER RACIST DIFFERENTLY, NO MORE BLACK PEOPLE THINKING ITS BECAUSE THERE BLACK, NO MORE GAY PEOPLE SPENDING ALL THERE TIME DEFENDING THERE SELF, NO MORE BITCHING AND MOANING....  ALL THE BS FIXED.  BUT NOPE, WONT HAPPEN.  BECAUSE EVERYBODY HAD TO KNOW WHAT JOHNNY DID LAST NIGHT OR WHO KATY CALL LAST NIGHT AND STUPID STUFF....   AMERICA, GROW UP, WORRY BOUT YOUR SELF AND THE STUFF THAT YOU CAN FIX OR DEAL WITH.  NOTHING ELSE.  But sadly you wont.  

Yes, it is his fault.  There is no reason to feel sorry for them.  Your outrage is legit.  However, a better way to get back at them is to talk to them at length.  Since while he's talking to you, he's not making a sale.
