I think he's probably aware of what the judge could do, and like many others throughout this board, just making light of the situation.
Kplan23 2013-03-31 09:50:46 Unknown
I like your general scenario for dealing with this scum with one exception.
"The judge might give me a medal". The judge may also slap the cuffs on you for intentionally endangering the physical well being of the scammer. You could be cell mates. You had the options of not answering, hanging up or playing out your skit without doing any physical harm. Any of those would be a better choice. You can't claim the use of the air horn was self defense in this case.
There are some crazy judges out there as well. Remember the burglar who sued for injuries sustained when falling through a skylight? The homeowner lost that case even there was no intent to harm the burglar by causing him to fall through the skylight. It was purely an accident, yet the bad guy won.
Let's work together to put the bad guys in jail and not the victims.

Caller from Blaine, WA. I don't answer any calls from Washington state or DC. Scammers and Politicians are all the same in my book.
Fed Up 2013-03-30 01:20:18 Unknown
Called our home number right after 5. We did not answer and they did not leave a message. We are on state and federal do not call lists.
get a real job 2013-03-30 00:04:30 Unknown
This particular call was a robo-dialer, and hung up like some of the other comments for this number.

I have a couple of ways to deal with these parasites. First, I let the phone ring three full times before I pick up. I pick up and don't say anything for 2-3 seconds. If it is a computer autodialer, 80-90% of the time the computer will hang up thinking it has gotten a voice mail or answering machine. After 2-3 seconds, I say our company name, but don't give out my name. That way they don't automatically have a name if they call back and get someone else. If I still get a person and they insist, I tell them my name is "Richard Smith"(it's not). It is none of their business what my real name is, they are telescammers who are breaking the law. If they persist in calling over and over again, I tell them that my boss is available, and then I use a sports air horn right next to the phone. What are they going to do, sue me? "Your Honor, I was illegally telescamming and they deafened me!" Good luck with THAT argument. The judge might give me a medal. Reporting these "people"(I use that term loosely) to the Do Not Call Registry is futile, they are usually spoofing their phone number anyway. If you have the time, have some fun with them. See how long they will stay on hold or still be on the line if you put the phone down. Take your cordless into the bathroom and have an extended "deposit" at the Porcelain Bank, complete with very loud fake sound effects. Tell them you ARE the boss and listen to their sales pitch, never saying yes to anything, but always saying that you will look at your numbers and see what you can do. Some scammers will record any affirmative answer you give and then splice it into a call and bill you for whatever they are selling, using that as evidence of an order. Waste as much of their time as you can, because that keeps them from scamming other people, and it can be a really fun stress reliever! Anything that we can do to make this less profitable for these ticks on the butt of humanity is a plus. Feel free to pass this on or add to it with your fun ways of taking back your phone lines. If these idiots would get a real job, the world would be a better place for all of us.

I've been getting a call from this number every Friday for a month. There doesn't seem to be an option to tell them to stop calling. No company name associated with the call and the number can't be called back

Received several calls from 360-332-6420 in WA, USA. I don't answer since I don't recognize number and don't know anyone in Washington State. They never leave message.

Update the free Google listing, blah, etc. So, I pressed 1 just for sport. Rodger came on. I asked to speak to Rahlia, since Aamir, Rahlia was on the caller id. Poor Roger didn't know who Rahlia was but was going to find him/her in the room (must be a boiler room). In our brief conversation Roger said the company was Op-Giant and was a subcontractor to Google. He had my phone number and business name, which he mispronounced. He said he would correct it. Either his headset kept cutting or the VoIP service was overloaded because the communication was dodgy. He said he would call back. Poor sorry Rodger: he did not call back and if he does (oops when his robo companion does) it will hit the call blocker, until Op-Giant changes its name and number as it spams SEO scams. No mentions of Op-Giant (multiple spellings) nor Aamir, Rahlia on an internet search. Gee, I wonder if that was really Rodger?

Name on caller ID is Aamir Rahila.

1-360-332-6420 has called my homne phone every day for several months now. Recorded call, robo-call, wanting me to update my online advertizing with Google, I believe, for a free listing. I have been told Google has no such policy ofr making calls of this type.

Thanks for the previous messages regarding this number. They call frequently and I do not answer. I've set them to silent ringer with Do Not Answer as a name. If they don't leave a message, then they don't really want to talk to me.

ditto....
the criminal scumbags call about this google scam on one line...I block it....they switch to another number...I block it.....they switch to another number....I block it .........ad nauseum!!!!
Can't the criminals grow a few brain cells and figure it out...just switching numbers is not going to let you scam some scam/scum savvy people!

Google Posers. These people are NOT Google. They are trying to dupe people into paying for services that Google offers for FREE!
julee 2013-03-27 14:15:21 Telemarketer
Miss represent themselves a Google. You get a robo call to update your free listing. Then when Julia came on the line I asked what listing this was for? She said this was to update my free Google listing. Well I can update my free google listing on my own. She also is giving me her cell phone # which later she tells you doesn't get good reception and is in her purse where she might not be able to here it.
also 914-884-7615 same company
Chuck 2013-03-27 07:28:08 Unknown
These people are so annoying because they call with multiple fake numbers, same area code and same exchange. I've also had calls from 360.332.6265, so it's like you block one number and they call with another. It's infuriating!

360 332-6420 This number called today March 26 2013. Then next time that number calls It will get a
My most favorite recording (NUMBER DIALED HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED.) and then my system will disconnect the call and they will be hung up on. When their robo dial-er calls back ten more times within a few seconds my number will be removed from their list. I have hundreds of solicitors and telemarketing scum blocked from calling me ever. One call that is all they get from what ever number they use.
Mr Kelly. March 2013
